Governor Rotimi Amaechi or Rivers State is well-known for being quite an emotional speaker, sometimes making unexpected and interesting statements. His eloquent speech at the recent rally in Port Harcourt became no exception. See TOP 10 of Governor Amaechi’s most incredible statements made at the rally: 1. You must know that if you read the story of revolution, you must sacrifice. Somebody said my son should come to the front. If you want my son tomorrow, I will produce him. 2. If I have surrendered myself and I am ready to be in front, let them shoot. 3. I have challenged the President that I belong to APC. If he wants me back in PDP, let him return the oil wells to the Kalabari people and I will come back. 4. One of our sons, a Kalabari son, said the oil wells were taken under Rufus Ada-George. Tell him I say he is lying. 5. If a Southsouth President refused to give you water, you will push him out. 6. If it is the President, I can understand, because the President has not served in any international organisation, but what about the woman (Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala), whose job it is to sign off, to give the water project. 7. She wants you (Rivers people) to die of water-borne diseases, in the name of politics. Holy Ghost fire. 8. They are quarrelling with Amaechi and they want you (Rivers people) to die the death of Amaechi. 9. I will not die. I drink bottled water. You do not drink bottled water. 10. They do not want to sign. They want you to die of water-borne diseases. Source: http://news.naij.com/55017.html |

: Woman gives husband’s fiancee a surprise gift 2 YEARS after her death (READ) Beyond the grave: Brenda Schmitz died two years ago, but before she did she organized an elaborate Christmas gift for her family – including her husband’s new finacee The true meaning of the holidays: Before Brenda (center) died, she wrote a letter to a local radio station, asking them to fulfill three Christmas wishes. Her husband David is pictured on the left Moving on: Brenda gave the letter to a friend with the instructions not to send it to the station until her husband found a new woman. Above, David is pictured with Jayne Abraham. He proposed to the mother of two this past summer In the letter, Brenda asks the station to fulfill her last wish to do something for the new woman in her husband’s life, for her family and for the doctors and nurses who helped ease her pain. On Friday, Brenda’s husband was brought into the station, but didn’t know what was happening until host Colleen Kelly started reading his wife’s last letter. ‘When you are in receipt of this letter, I will have already lost my battle to ovarian cancer,’ Brenda wrote. ‘I told [my friend] once my loving husband David had moved on in his life and had met someone to share his life with again, to mail this letter to all of you at the station. Her first wish was directed at her husband’s fiance Jayne, asking that she be treated to a spa day. ‘She deserves it,’ Brenda wrote. ‘Being a step-mother to all those boys, and especially giving little Max a mother’s love that only she can give. Make her smile and know her efforts are truly appreciated from me.’ Pampering: Brenda’s first wish was that Jayne be treated to a spa day, saying she deserves it with taking on the responsibility of all Brenda’s sons – including youngest Max Christmas wish: Brenda’s second wish was that her family get a vacation where they can make memories to last a lifetime. She also asked that the nurses and doctors who treated her get a dinner for helping her through her pain ‘Thank you. I love you, whoever you are,’ Brenda added. The second wish was that her family be taken on a magical trip, somewhere they could all enjoy and make memories to last a lifetime. Her final wish was for the nurses and doctors who took care of her in the cancer unit at Mercy Medical Center. ‘A night out full of drinks, food and fun for all they do every day for the cancer patients they encounter,’ she wrote. Her husband David fought back tears while listening to the letter, and said he wasn’t surprised that Brenda would have organized such an elaborate gift. ‘It’s not surprising, because the last year and a half she’s shown so many signs that she’s there,’ he said, adding that he saw a double rainbow the morning after she died and that ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ was her favorite song. Touched: David fought back tears throughout the radio segment, saying he wasn’t surprised his wife would have organized such an elaborate Christmas gift even after her death ‘There was no question that we were going to do something for this wish,’ station manager Scott Allen told the Des Moines Register. ‘It was what could we do that would be deserving of Brenda’s name and memory.’ With the help of sponsors, the station was able to grant all three of Brenda’s wishes. The family of eight will be treated to a vacation at Walt Disney World in Florida where Jayne will relax with a spa day. As for the nurses and doctors at Mercy Medical Center, they’ll get get three coordinated food drops provided by a local catering company. Wish come true: The station got sponsors to grant all three of Brenda’s wishes. The Schmitz family will be treated with a Disney World vacation, where Jayne will also receive a day at the spa

In my opinion, neither Atheists nor those that believe in God are completely right. The answer lies between My reason bn; one believe there is God, the other believe there's no God. Both views are based on beliv. There's no certainty in the two views. None of the two parties can tangibly prove that God exist or that God does not exist. There are so many reasons for one to believe there's God and, There are some reasons that will make you doubt the existence of God. |
By SaharaReporters, New York A group known as Investigative Reporters In (IRA) has come out with yet another bombshell on the wanton looting of the nation’s financial resources b Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, and her disorganization of the entire aviation sector. Speaking for the group, Mazi Kanayo Ochei, and Kenneth Uti President and Secretary respectively, said their investigations reveal that in addition to the two cars she forced the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to purchase for her, she also forced the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to buy two each of the same brand of cars. “I don’t understand why Nigerian media are shouting about NCAA alone, when a total of six bulletproof cars were actually purchased by the Minister on the bill of three aviation agencies,” they said. “Our work as IRA revealed that while Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA bought two BMW, Joyce Nkemakolam (Acting DG) of NCAA bought two BMW, and Mr. Uresi George of FAAN bought two bullet-proof American specs limousine for the Minister of Aviation.” They further stated that all the purchases were made from Coscharis Motors and cannot be denied. “If Nigerians really know the magnitude of the rot in the Aviation Industry as at this moment, they will carry placards against this administration,” the IRA officials said, noting that the FAAN is heading for bankruptcy, with the MD on the verge of taking a bank loan to pay workers’ salaries last month. “The only option left for FAAN now is to begin to use part of their statutory remittance to Federation Account to offset their bills.” On the part of NAMA, the IRA described it as being in disarray, that nobody seems to know what is going on and that the workers have completely lost confidence in the Management. They noted that members of the NAMA staff have threatened on several occasions in the recent past to embark on industrial action based on poor conditions of service and heaps of unpaid allowances. “IRA further wants EFCC to call Coscharis Motors for questioning on the six cars purchased by the Minister so as to get to the root of this issue,” they said. It would be recalled that on October 19, the Director- General of the NCAA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, told a press conference in Abuja that the Federal Government was hunting for the whistleblower who leaked the story of the two scandalous armoured cars the agency bought for Mrs. Oduah at a cost of N225m. On October 21, SaharaReporters further reported that NAMA had also purchased four Toyota Tundra vehicles for Mrs. Oduah in addition to four stretch limousine cars that were said to have been bought for the transportation of VIPs to the Ministry. In a statement, Supo Atobatele, the General Manager of NAMA, attacked the report as “frivolous, malicious and mischievous.” “We hereby make it categorically clear to the unsuspecting public that this evil story as being promoted, is patently false in its entirety and calculate to put the agency and the office of the minister into disrepute,” he said. IRA has called on President Jonathan to recognize that only a level-headed, matured and patriotic Minister can help Nigerian Aviation industry, “not a self-seeking, corrupt and proud person like Stella Oduah.” Furthermore, the group said, “We also want to advise the newly confirmed Director-General of NCAA Fola Akinkotun to stop defending what he knows practically nothing about, while we sympathize with his position, we advise him to stop making any further reckless press statement in any futile attempt at defending those who all Nigerians know how they ganged up to prevent him from taking up the position of the DG NCAA for almost 5 months after he was chosen by President Jonathan.” This morning, George Uresi, the chief executive officer of the FAAN admitted to a hearing of the Senate Aviation Committee that the agency indeed bought four bullet proof cars for Ms. Oduah at N70 million each.dy theAviationEmbattled Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah |

Carrie Minney could have sworn the woman in the casket was her 50-year-old daughter. When Minney and the rest of Sharolyn Jackson's family attended her viewing, funeral and burial in New Jersey on Aug. 3, they noted that Jackson's nose looked thinner. But they figured something had happened to it during the embalming process. The truth is far stranger: The woman they buried that day was not, in fact, their loved one but a lookalike. Jackson showed up at a Philadelphia hospital on Aug. 16, several weeks after she had been reported missing and 13 days after her family thought they had laid her to rest at Colonial Memorial Park in Hamilton, N.J. "There was really a strong resemblance, a really strong resemblance," Minney, 69, said Friday in a phone interview from her home in Trenton, N.J. "She looks so much like Sharol they could be sisters." Jackson was reported missing around the time that paramedics took a woman who'd been found lying in a Philadelphia street to a hospital, where she died July 20. One of Jackson's sons and a social worker at Horizon House, where her mother said she had been receiving treatment for drug and mental health problems, viewed pictures of the dead woman's body and made the identification. The medical examiner determined the woman died of heat stroke, signed a death certificate and released the body to the family, Philadelphia Department of Health spokesman James Garrow said. "If someone comes in and they're a family member and say, 'That's my mom,' that's generally good enough," Garrow said. After Jackson showed up at Pennsylvania Hospital last week, police confirmed her identity through fingerprints. Her son went to the hospital and immediately recognized her. "He said, 'That's my mom. We made a terrible mistake,'" Garrow said. Philadelphia officials plan to exhume the buried body in hopes of correctly identifying it. Minney said her daughter remains hospitalized. They've spoken only briefly over the phone, and Minney isn't sure her daughter knows a funeral was held for her. "I'm still overjoyed," Minney said. "I got to come down from the joy because somebody else is dead. We don't know who it is, and it bothers me that somebody else's daughter is laying in that grave out there." Rivers state government on Tuesday released a picture showing wife of the Rivers State Governor, Judith Amaechi, signing the condolence register during her visit to the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, on the death of her foster mother, Mrs Charity Sisi Oba. The picture is a response to the statement earlier released by Mrs Jonathan that while several groups and individuals from across the country came to condole with her, no official of the Rivers State government deemed it necessary to pay the family a condolence visit. Her release was in response to media reports that she shunned the Deputy Governor at the Port Harcourt airport in her last visit to the state to make final arrangement for her mother’s burial. The press release issued by Mrs. Adesugba, media aide to the First Lady added that her boss “bears no grudge towards anyone as she is an individual who continues to tirelessly advocate for peace and harmony in Nigeria.” The disagreement between the First Family and the Ameachi’s on one hand, as well as the presidency and the Rivers government in general, seems to degenerate by the day. Many observers believe the tussle is not unconnected to the 2015 general elections. BREAKING: Pastor Ajanaku Refuses To Die: Resurrects, Relapses Into Coma Like a proverbial cat with nine lives, controversial pastor and estranged spiritual father of popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi, Prophet Iretiola Ajanaku is said to have regained life after being certified dead. Hospital sources revealed that while effort were being made to prepare him for morgue, the man, who has refused to die, awoke and shouted ‘Thank You Jesus!’ and relapsed into a spiritual slumber. Meanwhile, his wife, we gathered, has been telling sympathisers that “I knew daddy would come back to life again.” Right now, we cannot categorically tell you if the man will awake again or not. Another report has it that, while preparations were in top gear to get his body deposited at a nearby morgue, a medical doctor was said to have been contacted to certify him dead and get a death certificate but they were shocked when the doctor declared that the man still has live in his body. For now his inner members are insisting that the prophet should be left till Friday, believing that he would have come back fully to life. So the waiting continues. Prophet Ajanaku who is famous with popular gospel singer Tope Alabi’s fame was recently in the public eye when he opened up that the singer had demanded s*x from him. We shall keep you updated as the drama unfolds. Source: http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/breaking-pastor-ajanaku-refuses-to-die-resurrects-relapses-into-coma/

OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA PRESS RELEASE Leave Me Out of Rivers State Politics – First Lady The attention of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has been drawn to reports carried in some sections of the media alleging that top officials of the Rivers government, including the Deputy Governor Tele Ikuru who came to receive the First Lady, were shielded from Dame Jonathan on her arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport yesterday, (18/08/2013). Some of the media reports went to the extent of alleging that Dame Jonathan “snubbed” the Deputy Governor. It is important to set the record straight in order to prevent the public from being misled. The First Lady arrived in Rivers State yesterday for a private visit, to make arrangements for the burial of her late mother with members of her extended family. Customarily, the wife of the State Governor receives the First Lady whenever she visits any state. That is why the wife of Bayelsa State Governor traveled from Yenagoa to receive the First Lady. Ordinarily, one would have expected the same complement from the wife of the Rivers State Governor. It is instructive to note that since the death of Mrs. Charity Oba, the mother of the First Lady, several groups and individuals from across the country have come to condole the First Family at the State House, Abuja. They include Executive State Governors and their wives from all the political divides; Nigeria’s former Presidents and Heads of State and their wives, captains of industry, female Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Nigeria, other members of the diplomatic corps, royal fathers and traditional leaders – the list is too numerous to call. However, the Governor and the wife from the State which the First Lady hails have not paid such a visit. It should be clear to all that for quite some time now, the First Lady has refrained from commenting on issues relating to the politics of Rivers State. Dame Patience does not want her name to be used to heat up the polity. We therefore urge that the name of the First Lady be left out of the politics in Rivers State. The First Lady, like any Nigerian, is free to visit the state of her birth. Dame Jonathan bears no grudge towards anyone as she is an individual who continues to tirelessly advocate for peace and harmony in Nigeria. We therefore reiterate that the First Lady’s name be left out of the politics in the State. Ayo Adesugba (Mrs.) Director (Information) 19 August, 2013 Source: http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/governor-amaechi-his-wife-refused-to-pay-me-condolence-visit-patience-jonathan/
