He or she should order for CBSA notes. It is faster than GCMS notes.

Travel history (last 3 passports with visa stamps, entry and exit stamps

I think this is what i submitted.

My letter of intent gave a brief intro about me and what i do, my purpose of travel, my funding for the trip and return to country home ties.

My documents was also all well labelled and arranged.

No i don’t have a current valid US visa, expired 2018. But i have had multiple US visas, UK, Australia and other countries in the past 10 years.
My purpose of visit is also to see my daughter who just began her studies( not sure if this had any impact on the speed of processing).

I used the New IRCC Portal.

My question is I can do DHL, or walk-in to Lagos VFS? If I do walk-in to Lagos VFS, do I pick up there too when passport is stamped or it will be delivered to my address of choice? Are there any fees for walk-in?

You can do both. For DHL, do a 2 way courier.
If you choose to do walk in for Lagos VSF, you have to pay 1 way courier (VFS services-18,710) for it to be delivered to the address of choice.

VFS do not do physical passport submission & collection. You would need to use a courier. Pay for two way courier.

There’s been a change to that. VFS does physical submission. I was there last Thursday in Abuja and people for submission were attended to. The time is 8am - 10am.

Not to sure of collection but saw people come and they were asked to confirm the passports before leaving the counter.

Thanks a lot. The passport request letter I received doesn't state how to send via Courier. I've checked vfs website and can't see anything about courier there too. I'm trying to avoid flying to Lagos just to drop passport.

Oh no.. you dont have to fly anywhere. If you dont live in Abuja or Lagos. Just go to DHL and tell them you want to pay for a 2 way courier.

Abuja is faster. If you didn't do biometrics in Abuja and you want to send to Abuja(please pay the transmission fee(9410) and sms fee 990).

But if you are not in a hurry. Just submit to Lagos if thats where you did biometrics.

The process involved in passport stamping:

Abuja Address;Visa Application Centre, sterling bank plaza, 3rd floor, plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja Nigeria

Lagos Address; Visa Application Centre Ground Floor, The Manor Plot 110, Admiral ayinla way, lekki phase 1 lagos Nigeria

Requirement; if you did your biometrics in abuja, Theres no fee except for delivery fees.
buy an envelope.

IF NOT, You will first pay a transmission fee of N9410 to CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION account(0065165839) Sterling bank
Then print the receipt from your phone(coloured).

if you did your biometrics in lagos. Go to DHL closer to you and pay for 2-way courier and also pay for insurance to be sent to canada VAC Abuja, buy a fresh brown envelope and add the following NB; remember to give DHL a return address since its a 2 way courier

1.)put two photocopies of your passport data page(coloured)
2.)your yellow or white biometric strip(if you have misplaced these paper go to VFS so theyll sort you out). If you dont have the slip you can still send it regardless or you can add the BVL(biometric validation letter)
3.)Passport request letter
4.)1 copy of the consent form downloaded and signed( note u are filling and signing just the second page of your consent form)
3.)the passport itself
4.)one plain sheet of paper where you can write your Name, address, Email, phone number and signature
5.)one coloured copy of the receipt of the transmission fee payment

Congrats. Yes you can do either. With DHL ensure you do a 2 way courier.
For walk in, time for submission of passport is from 8am -10am.

I will like know the number of days it will take to get a response for biometric after submitting my paper application.
I heard it usually took about 6hours after submission for online applications.

No idea but are paper applications still be being accepted?
Is there a reason for doing paper application?
If none, why not use the online system.

If online applications are taking forever to get decisions, one wonders for paper application if they are still being accepted.

Please do wait for others who know differently to weigh in.. though responses on this page do take time.

Biometric done by Adult : October 4th
Passport request for kids: Nov 29
Medical request for Adult Nov 29. Sent mail and uploaded my Upfront medical via webform to IRCC.
Medical Request for adult updated to passed Nov 30
Sent passport of Kids to IRCC via VFS
God that gave my kids Visiting visa will give me my Visitor visa. In Jesus Name. Amen

Was the visitor visas attached to a student visa application?
I know the portal doesn't affect processing times but just curious… what portal was used?

Do you have anyone you can ask in US or Canada or anywhere abroad who can pay with their card?
Thats how i paid mine last night.
And you give the Naira equivalent to them(especially this season when people are sending money home.. you can give the Naira to who they want to give here).

Please can someone respond to this. Can GCKey portal still be used for Visitor visa application? Or it must be the new portal

You do not submit original passports at the time of application. When your visa is approved, your passport will be requested for submission and you will be given 30days to submit it.

Firstly,you do not need that number 3.and the number 2 question....how can a person have 2 birth certificate if you born in one place...if your child was born in usa then only the usa birth cert is proof of birth ..and number 1 question,you can present 4 or 6 month and if any large sum ,just be honest and explain..visa approve is not bases only on bank account...your work,your travel history,your property, landed property,your home ties like husband and family in nigeria all add to visa sucesss so do not based ur application only on bank account.l wish you sucess

Thank you for your response. The large sums are actually withdrawals not deposit. Thats why i asked if that should be explained?…since they are not deposits

Please i have some questions and would love helpful inputs. I want to apply for visitor visa to go see by child who is a student.

1. Must the SOA be 6 months length? Can it be shorter like 4 months plus? Huge debits outside regular patterns were made around July(i want to avoid explanation if possible)

2. For kids born in the US, must you attach their US birth certificate or would attaching their Nigerian birth certificate be read as misinterpretation.

3. Bill for the US birth not totally cleared, a payment plan is a place with them. Would this affect visa approval? Do i need to state this in SOP?
