I was once a stammerer. A chronic one at that. You know that type that locks up totally after trying to make a particular sentence and ends up crying..... Yep, that's me . In fact do u know my mum actually thought I was dumb when I was still a child because at the age of 2 while other kids were struggling with words, I was just...dumb. A chronic dumb stammer.

How I worked on it;
1. I spoke less. Replied with one or two words when questioned.

2. I picked my "hard" words, words that gave me trouble, eg, words that starts with "c" or "k" (like catastrophe) and practiced them in private. It helped my fluency.

3. Don't talk when tensed, angry or nervous. Stick to simple words when in this situation or just ignore.

4. Surround yourself with people who appreciates you regardless of your case. People who see past your stammering.

5. Be patient in everything. Don't rush or get excited. It heightens stammering.

6. Learn not to take it to heart when others laugh. They may actually have worse issues than you, so just ignore them. Once they notice you don't care, they let you be.

Oh and I am better now. A chatterbox for that matter. You would never know until I tell you.
