Larryfest: You are very right this democracy needs to be scrapped over 20years now and there's no single gain but then do we still have genuine military guys in this country cos our recent military leaders are card carrying political party members with Ak47's.. That's why I emphasized the need for a wise modern oriented dictator. I don't think one exist presently. So until we decide first to scrap democracy and get lucky enough to have a wise dictator, then we will remain in the dark. |

Politics › Re: Why Is Nigeria Such A Terrible Country? by Twistsss: 5:21am On Apr 14, 2019 |
Nigeria is messed up on so many levels and we will never get out of this darkness as long as the larger uneducated/under-educated masses are qualified to vote. As for me the only solution to all of Nigeria's problems is scrapping democracy and establishing a military government headed by a 'wise modern oriented' dictator. |

Harvigh: Nairaland as a forum is today the most welcoming place for tribalism and ethnicism. Everyday, I see obvious comments by tribalistic idiots bashing themselves and calling other tribes that aren't theirs the most despicable names you can think of. Being called an afonja, Igbo and other despicable names is now the order of the day on nairaland and SEUN and his MODs DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT because in my opinion, things of that nature help them generate more traffic. Nigeria as it is today is already as divided as it can possibly be and if this phenomenon is left unchecked on nairaland, it might get out of hand and everyone would be trading blames. SEUN, please do something about trabalism on Nairaland, I beg of you. This is a very nice forum for Nigerians and trust me, the whole world sees what we're doing here. Thank you. Kindly call SEUN only when you need to advertise your products. Thanks. |

Nairaland itself is tribalistic if not this thread would have closed.
Our NGO is working with a govt agency to sue Nairaland based on evidence gather. This forum is becoming a threat to National unity. I can't wait to see this happen. This forum is destroying Nigeria. |

No, democracy is not good for Nigeria. In a democratic government an election process that produces a leader is decided by the majority of electorates. This is very bad for a country like Nigeria because 1. Most Nigerians are poor and can be bought by politicians 2. Most Nigerians are blinded by tribal and religious sentiments 3. Most Nigerians are uneducated, ignorant and hence liable of making wrong decisions about the right leader for them. |

Politics › Is Buhari Gone? Let's Take One More Look At 2015 Election Results by Twistsss(op): 9:46am On Nov 07, 2018*. Modified: 4:27pm On Nov 07, 2018 |
When you look at the results note the following.
1. Southwest vote that Buhari is relying on will not be enough to see him through. If anything the votes were balanced between Buhari and Jonathan in 2015.
2. The word on the street is that people are not happy with Buhari's government and most are saying that they regret voting Buhari hinting that all who voted Buhari in 2015 will not vote for him again, while those that didn't vote for him in 2015 will not vote for him in 2019.
3. Adamawa is Atiku's. Just look at the vote Adamawa gave to Jonathan a southerner.
4. Underage voting that Buhari got away with in Kano, Katsina and Karina will not be tolerated by Nigerians this time.
5. Check out the votes in the SE, MB, SS. No hope there for APC. SW was almost even between PDP and APC. NE and NW will be divided because it's a north Vs north election.
All things being equal Buhari will lose in 2019. The only way Buhari can win is through massive rigging.

Take some time to reflect If Nigeria keeps voting PDP or APC... If poor Nigerians keep giving birth to children they can't take care of... If middle income families keep sending their children abroad.... If northern Nigeria domination of Armed Forces is not curbed... If southern Nigeria continues to be divided... If religion/politics/tribe keeps robbing people of common sense... If Nigeria is not restructured... If the life expectancy of Nigerians remains or falls below 53yrs... ?? |
The report identified extortion, charitable donations, smuggling, remittances and kidnapping as parts of ways Boko Haram is funded. Their report says nothing much here. Thank God President Buhari is doing everything in his power to flush them out unlike the way they reign supreme in the past.
Did you purposely forget to read this part quoted below? “In Nigeria, 111 schoolgirls from the town of Dapchi were kidnapped on 18 February 2018 and released by ISWAP on 21 March 2018 in exchange for a large ransom payment,” the report stated. |
