Religion is the root of all evil and should be banned.

Sometimes I wonder some people think like this…, Religion should be banned? Did you create you? Will you honor who has created you and provided you with your needs. Consider the water you drink is it you that brings it down from the sky or God, what about the seed which you grow? Is it you that make it God or God? If he wishes, he will turn your Harvest into Chaff then you’ll be filled with wonderment shouting about that you’re deprived. He has given you all this favors without really struggling for it, and all you can say is …
Religion is the root of all evil and should be banned.

Reverend I think you should really seek for forgiveness from God
By the way reverend, can you sincerely point out that evil that Religion has caused? I know that the Evil you are talking about is caused by us Human and not our religion.
We should be blamed and Go to trial not our religions

Geegee I want you to look up the sky, can you detect any pillar? Now look again can you see anything holding the havens? Of course you will continue to look till your eyes go wary. DO you think God has created everything perfectly including you for you to stand up one day and say hey "i am a free thinker" . God has not created you and me and every other creatures for nothing but worship him. so how do you worship him? is obviously thorough the ordained way. remember all creatures Even the trees bow down in adoration. SO madam I don’t think you are too special to worship him.
In Essence , he has created you for no reason but to worship him and he has laid down the procedures which you'll take. Ignorance is not an excuse please,
Free thinking won’t take you anywhere you just have to follow what God has ordained for you, The revelation (Through the scriptures).

Have it in mind that religion is an Obligation not a necessity
Health / Re: My Girlfriend Is HIV Positive But: by twixstars(m): 12:35pm On Oct 31, 2007
Is all up to you to decide Robert, but really there are two things you have to put into consideration.

1) If you get married to her, will you be able to live with the trauma knowing that she has the virus and she can die at anytime? Knowing that you can also get infected at anytime?
2) If you leave and don’t get married to her, will you be able to live with the guilt? Or even forgive yourself?
If you can put this two things into consideration before making your decision, then your assured of making the one that will favoure you and come from your heart. But which ever decision you make remember to be prayerful and avoid doing anything to her/yourself that will incur God’s hanger on you.
Good luck Robert on whatever decision you make………,  and may God Asist you in making them
Family / Re: My Mum Is Still Being Chased By Men by twixstars(m): 3:05am On Oct 31, 2007
@ poster
what u just wrote about being friends with one of the men because of his money is not right. u might get attached to him because of his money and your mum would feel since u re cool with the guy she could give in to him. I know because am amother and know that woman especially wives and mother allow the influence of their family change their decisions. So please allow your mum to make her decision. She might not be interested in remarrying, ( it is not written anywhere that a widow must remarry)

So do not add to your mum's confusion just because u are drawn to money. Money bags might have a terrible behaviour towards women, You don't know and I guess u do not what to find out from your mummy's body.

I think she is right Getting attached to the money bag is even worse. so please ma guy just allow ur mama make her own decision without you interfering. though you can choose to bring up the issue and give advicesif you choose to, but please talk to her in a matured way.
Religion / Re: Are Christians The Only Holy People? by twixstars(m): 2:25am On Oct 31, 2007
well, whatever religion you belive in, i think the best thin is to try as much as possible be free from sin. I think no mater your riligion you just have to be good and do whatever your riligon wants you to do and desist from whatever your riligion forbids. thats the only way you can assure yourself of being favored by God
Business / Re: The CBN Increased The Monetary Policy Rate To 9 Per Cent by twixstars(m): 2:03am On Oct 31, 2007
I think there are different ways The CBN can reduce Inflation and the volume of money in cireculation. one of the most important thing is open market operation. which is selling of securities to individuals inorder to mop out some money from the public. moreover the increse in intrest rate will have an effect on we individuals too. if the comercial banks get their loan from the CBN with a high intrest rate, then they will b forced to tranfer the same thing to their costomers by increasing the intrest on the loan they give out to the customers. so you see? considring the whole thin, the increase will definitly do more harm than good.
Business / The CBN Increased The Monetary Policy Rate To 9 Per Cent by twixstars(m): 1:00am On Oct 31, 2007
The central bank of Nigeria increased the interest rate from 9 per cent. The reason was to reduce the volume of money in circulation.
“The CBN increased the Monetary Policy Rate to 9 per cent. This is the rate at which it will lend money to deposit money banks for the rest of the year. It is part of the strategy to check a jump in the current single digit inflation rate.”
“These measures are intended, amongst others, to deepen inter-bank trading and encourage banks to free-up resources to enlarge the credit market,” Soludo said.

But will the increase really solve the problem? Now let’s analyze this, when the interest rate is increased, the commercial banks will be discouraged to get loan from the central bank. They will be forced to start inter-bank loan i.e. commercial banks will no longer go to the CBN to get loan, they will go to the other commercial banks to get it in a lower interest rate.
Now we all understand that the money in circulation hasn’t been reduced by the process. It only allows the volume to remain constant. Therefore, since the commercial banks have been forced to get loan from among themselves, the movement of money from bank to bank will tend to increase and move faster. The rate at which money change hands from one institution or person to other will now be high.
The aim was to reduce the volume of money in circulation. But in that process the velocity of money is being increased. (now we'll have the volume being constant and the velocity being incresed). To me, Soludo has done nothing. Or What do you think………
Politics / Re: Naira Re-Denomination: Suspended! by twixstars(m): 4:31pm On Oct 29, 2007
Kobojunkie:

Just making claims does not make points @Mustay,  Think about this and the Nigerian mentality towards money. Do you really think that changing the denomination will change minds This problem is not about redenomination.

I can't Agree more. we have to understand basic concept of human behavior and our Human mind works (esspecially Ngerians). the re-denomination of Naira can only change the denomination but does not have the power to change our minds. there has to be strong incentives (through education, enlightnment and variouse public displays and awerness if that will even work makiing people understand the pros and cons) before that can happen. moreover, re-denomination is not the only solution to the problem, there are other ways we can appreciate the value of naira instead of looking for shortcuts. because i think the CBN is looking for a shortcut not being courageous enough to follow the long and the presumed "right" process. they want to use few months to solve a promblem that has been existing for decades.  think please,   things don't "often" work that way in reality
Politics / Is Re-denomination Of Naira A Good Idea? by twixstars(m): 12:27am On Oct 29, 2007
I don’t support the decision of the central bank. Come to think of it? We all know that the money will be "re-denominated" right but will that change people's behavior towards the change? Think please, ,  A cab man cannot collect N3 from you when he is used to collection N300 from people for similar service. The man will have to think about the person he has to pay to fuel his car, not to talk of the money he will pay for his car's maintenance.  Is Charles (CBN Governor) telling me that the cab man won’t have problems settling those people he got fuel and car maintenance from? Come on people’s behavior don’t just change overnight. There has to be an incentive.
I think the process requires a lot of public enlightment and education to make people understand the pros and cons of the "change". All these are part of Economic incentives. Economic incentive if high enough can have effect on behavior. But are there such incentives available?
I think the decision should be reconsidered by the central bank and consider the disadvantages not the honor it will bring to the country. They want people to say “Oh!” N1 = $1, so what? Or probably Charles wants other west African countries to treat NAIRA the way other countries in the world treat Dollar. We all know Dollar and every other powerful currency did not just gain their stance overnight.   To me, the whole process is not worth risking.
I am just a College student who does not know much about economic actions. But I still believe no one Including Charles is perfect, so I seriously think the Issue should be reconsidered and properly examined before implementing it.
The federal Government has done well by suspending the whole thing. Is the Yar-adua going to allow CBN to go ahead with the re-denomination? or will they continue suspending it till its finally rejected? lets see what happens next,
