They are correlated but not causative. The causative factor is the economy. Crash in gold is due to the economy improving, great job figures and the S&P hitting ATH. When people are confident in the economy, gold crashes and riskier assets like stocks rise.

Crypto is seen as the riskiest asset class. When institutions are confident, they divest out of gold into stocks and leave small for crypto. When the economy starts looking shaky, they first sell crypto, then stocks and buy treasury bonds and gold.

There really is no correlation between gold and crypto for now because Crypto has not attained the status of a defensive asset like gold, it is still a speculative asset, infact the most speculative of them all.

One key thing I got to absorb from Jedisco writings is how coins in the same sector pump together and how whales love liquidity. You can see this in PSG volume against USDT today of $300m, making the top ten. You can also see all the other football coins with good liquidity and pumping together with PSG including Barcelona who are the ones that lost Messi and are in dire straits as a club. Crypto is a funny game. Often it's not about fundamentals but how narrative drives liquidity toward coins and the multiplier effect. Half these people pumping these football coins probably know little about football, they are just attracted to liquidity, that's why a club with wretched fundamentals like Barca is pumping.

Same reason why gaming coins pump together, NFT pumps together, Layer 1s pump one after the other etc. With ETH pumping now, you can expect a counternarrative for ADA to pump assuming BTC holds form.

You buy as prices go down. Assuming you buy an equal quantity of your 4k purchase at $2, your entry/break even price is now $3

However,I do suggest you target less than $2 entry price. This will drastically reduce your entry/breakeven price.

Another thing, going forward, bull run is not a time to hold, best to cut your loss and renter. Its better towait for the time when people are scared to buy then dollars cost average. That's the basic rule of the game
