why are you having a second thought about FUTO? The alma mater of the current president of COREN, Engr. Ali and the university that has produced the highest number of engineers working with chevron, shell and many other MNCs in nigeria.

I wish u could back up your claims with evidence and facts. Where did u get ur data that claims oil and gas gesturing most engineers from FUTO ?
Anyway, in the labour market, the school u graduated from does not matter much. Any of the federal universities in Nigeria would do for an engineering degree.

If u did very well in ur ND with an upper credit and u have means of sponsoring ur education, go for DE. But if u are struggling wt finances, go for HND or part time to afford u the time to work while studying. This will help in boosting ur cv and give u an edge by the time u ready to work as a graduate

This is an abuse of labour. I know there are some special courts that look into such matter. Let him ask around. It is not expensive. It will be good if ur friend can provide evidence of how the whole process took place e.g text message, recorded phone calls, letter of job offer etc. The court will take it up from there - there must be compensation from the coy. Knowing the reason he was laid off work would not change anything. Fight for ur right if u can.

My advise to you is that you should hold on to your job till you get another place. A bird at hand is worth more than 2 in the bush. Expect if u have a means of sustaining yourself after leaving. Do not be a liability to anybody - nobody wants to befriend one. Always remember that there is no perfect place of work. By staying on this job, u will have a better negotiating power on your next job. Cheers!
