Lehmann! Petulant idiot. Always whinging and claiming foul whenever a striker comes near him. Abi, striker no go score against you again? Anyways, thank God he's been relegated to the bench. We don't have to see his childish antics on a weekly basis! |
People! It's Maradona. Kaka is Brazilian. End of. |
Abeg, leave Fergie alone. He said The Arse were going to drop points and it happened. That doesn't make him a prophet and I'm sure he doesn't claim to be one. What he did was state the obvious, abi Arsenal no be person dem be? Obvioulsy, they're gonna drop points. But when the reporter keeps asking you "what are your chances, ?" and "Is the Arse too far ahead?" You will be reduced to stating the obvious! So like I said, make una leave am alone! UP UNITED!! |
Hey! About Time Changes Yesterday, I think the author's name's Nyegi Coin or something like that. Can't really remember but I do remember the book. I was the narrator in English class. ![]() |
Football not existing? Please. People will always find something to fight about. Aisha2, well done. Up United! |
I remember Maria de Los Angeles. TBH, can't stand them. The annoying facial expressions and physical gestures. Everything's exaggerated. And the use of "my love" and "my dear." Ugh! |
Comparing our dressing at international conferences with Japanese/Chinese dressing at the same events is not right. Yes, they have their own culture and clothes but they don't wear them just like that. Maybe on traditional day celebrations, weddings, national days etc. Or has anyone gone to Japan and seen people wearing their kimonos on the street? Seen Russians wearing their woolen waistcoats and kosovorotkas with those baggy pants and knee high boots to the mall? Didn't think so. Here, we wear trad all the time. It's normal. The Arabs wear their own clothes, so do Indians and Pakistanis. SO if Yar'adua goes for a conference in babanriga or King Abdullah in his own Abaaya and head gear or Ahmed Karzai (sp?) in his native, there's no surprise. That's what you see in their countries. It's not like Miss World showing her country's attire and trying to be the prettiest, it's just traditional wear worn on the international stage. NO BIG DEAL. Afterall, it's not like Yar'Adua is wearing his hand woven fulani attire or the Akwa-Ibom multi-coloured, multi layered dancers' attire. Now that would be comparable to George Dubya wearing his cowboy outfit! |
What has Dangote got to do with groundnut pyramid? Is it because he is from Kano? Abi did Dongote take the groundnut and hide it in his backyard? The Kano Pyramids vanished as a result of neglect (when oil was found in Naija) and it wasn't only groundnut that suffered. So did other crops (Palm, Rubber etc). As for him and the Dantatas helping out, they actually do. Just go to Dangote's mother's house in Kano and see all the "almajirai" there. I know Dangote himself is probably being insulted in Kano. They say it's because most of his businesses are in the South. Who blames him? Working with relatives is dangerous! Dantata (Aminu) is a well know philanthropist in Kano. Just ask! The man gave 250 million for National Mosque renovation! Anyway, even if he doesn't give donations (which is not even always in people's economic interests), he employs thousands of people and that should be okay. Haba, when he started his business, he no do manifesto and he wasn't sworn in so if im chop his money alone, he no do bad thing. |
Juice - Joo-is (yes, as in two syllables) Quaker Oats - Coker Oats OR Coke and Oats Math Set - Masset |
Let me tell you why Nigerians answer questions with questions. It's because we are a very philosophical people. And we lean towards Socrates, the one time 'smartest man in all of Greece' as our philosophical godfather. Proof? Socratic Questioning! This was Socrates' method of answering questions with questions. |
Saving Private Ryan. The limbs that flew about and the midriffs that scattered were numerous. Quite disturbing. |
Prison Break S1 was terrific. "This is prison, yo!" Classic. S2 was good as well but nowhere near S1. Sadly, I think that's going to be the trend for PB. Can you imagine what they'll be doing in say, S5? Will Linc & Scofield still be on the run? If not, then what? Anyways, love Scofield. For some reason, don't like Tancredi. T-Bag is a fantastic actor. Saw an interview and the guy was totally different from the T-Bag character it was unbelievable. As for the Question, PB S1 > 24 but overall; 24>PB. |
For we wey dey swallow like say someone dey chase us, we go come swallow the ring if you put am for glass. |
I am currently serving. I will be done in August (cannot wait!). I would advise people to partake in the programme and not just shun it. Some organizations require an NYSC certificate before employment. CBN (where I serve) require a cert. before employment. You don't want to nail a dream job and not be employed simply because of lack of NYSC certificate. The NYSC conditions are terrible, pay even worse and the organization itself is the epitome of inefficiency. The registration process (especially for foreign students) is, infact, serious patience is needed. But at the end of the day, it's just one year. |
