Wow! So it has its own fields. Can you please give a list of specialization under VA. Also, is the alx VA program a good place to start as a beginner?

Check the attached picture above. The fields are listed there from admin, marketing, tech, UpTo project management.

I also saw the alx ads on Instagram and applied for their free AI training. I haven't taken the VA course before but judging by the reviews they've gotten and the fact that it's made for Nigerians and African, it worths going for.

Wow!
Are you a virtual assistant yourself?

I hired one that works with me. So as a recruiter, I know what it takes.
The VA that works with me, I told him what to do and how to do it my own way. He only comes with suggestions more often to improve our success rate.

As an aspiring VA, you need to focus on a niche. If you want to work with clients in digital marketing space, then you need to know basics of Digital Marketing. Not all clients will have the time to impact some knowledge.

Step 1: Identify Your Niche

This is just you deciding what your contents will be based on. For example, my niche is in finance. Yours can be in sport where you write about messi and ronaldo or latest news in sports.

- Research popular topics and trends in your niche: For example in sport, we are in the champions league season, so you can find a topic in this regards to write on. Or If your niche is in relationship, then you can write about "how to have an everlasting marriage". These are trending topics.

- Define your target audience and their needs
You have to know who your potential readers are. For example, I knew my audience on nairaland are in the business section, and that's why I posted this here. So you have to know who your audience are, and where to find them.

8. Sales
I think this is a skill that everybody needs to have. We all engage in sales everyday. Even at an interview, what you're trying to do is sell yourself, your skill to the company. Sales is all about convincing someone to trust you with their money. So when you go for an interview, you're trying to make them trust you that you are capable to give value and make them pay you every month.

So what comes first? Giving value. Hence sales is a skill that you should have no matter your niche.
The earning potential from developing your sales skills is unlimited, as many sales professionals not only earn massive commissions, but go on to progress into high-salaried roles or even become a company owner doing crazy numbers every year.

7. Web Development
Some Employers in IT or Tech require web development skills in addition to other "online" focused skills, as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 16% growth in demand for this employment over the next several years. Web development doesn't necessarily means learning how to code. If you can learn how to code, good for you. If you can't, then learn how to use site builders like WordPress, wix, to make different web projects.

Business / How To Make Money Online In Nigeria As A Brandnewname Creative by TylerMeji: 6:49pm On Apr 10
I’ll be taking you through how to make money online from home without paying anything, working as a creative on platforms like brandnewname.com

What’s brandnewname.com?
It’s a platforms that deals mainly with domain names. Their services include; selling of domain names, helping companies or startups to find best names, domains, tag lines and logos for their brand.

How can you make money on brandnewname?
From the explanation of their services which includes helping existing companies and start-ups fine best domain names, taglines and logos for their brand, it’s obvious they can’t do these alone. Therefore, they need the services of freelancers who are creative enough to come up with domain names, brand names, taglines or graphic designers who can create logos that’ll stand out.

Now how do you earn?
When you sign up on the platform (I’ll guide you on this as we proceed), you’ll sign up as a creative. Now you can render 3 services on this platform to make dollars. The services are what I have mentioned earlier which are:

Naming Contests
Tagline Contests
Logo Contests
What’s naming contest?

Anytime a client/company comes to brandnewname in need of a great domain name for their company, they’ll organize a contest (naming contest) where all the creatives (you and other registered users on the platform) will start submitting names. All names submitted will be presented to the client/company and they’ll pick from it. If your submitted name is picked, you’ll be notified and out of the $250 paid by the client, yours is $200 or sometimes $150.

What’s a tagline?

A tagline is a brief phrase used to relay a brand’s value. Companies use taglines in marketing campaigns and website headers to create a lasting impression on prospects. Taglines tell consumers about the overall company’s objectives without mentioning the product or service they offer. An example of a tagline is, “Where beauties rise, and wrinkles die”. This can be a tagline for a Spa or beauty salon.

What’s tagline Contest?

The process is exactly the same as the naming contest. The client pays for tagline, the platform organizes a tagline contests, you and other creatives submit different taglines, At the end of the contest period, the client select a winning tagline idea from the list of submitted concepts. The person who submits the top tagline is awarded a cash prize, and the client get a memorable tagline for his/her business.

What’s a logo contest?

I believe you already know what a logo is. And I believe from the explanation of tagline and naming contests, you already know what a logo contest is? YES! It’s exactly what you have in mind! You design logo and submit. If they select yours as their preferred logo, you win a cash prize of $200+.

How can you design a logo that can win you a contest?
