And why do you people attribute so much to the presence of a seaport.

The UK's largest port is in Felixstowe, a small town with a population of about 25,000. The 2nd largest port is in Southampton with a population of around 260,000, less than the population of a small section of many Nigeria cities. How come these towns are not competing with some of the most prosperous cities in the UK such as London, Edinburgh, and Manchester, which don't have ports and have millions of people.

Also the largest port in France is in the town of Le Havre with a population of 270,000. How come it is not on the same level as Paris.

Even if you remove Apapa ports from Lagos (which is impossible) and build massive ports elsewhere in the country, it will not have a major impact as private sector investors will step in and build better ports in Lagos or Ogun. A port in far away Ondo can serve Lagos perfectly. A modern prosperous city does not need a port to thrive.

In any case, Onne port in Rivers is fully operational. If Akwa Ibom can build their port, great.

On a lighter note, you and I dnt know the actual political policies that is involved in ship docking in any seaport. Do you think if ship can dock at any port of their choice, importer will shiped their goods to Lagos port before now transporting it on road to South East. There is actually a political game whether you agreed or not...you dnt know how many shiped that as being diverted from Onnen port to Lagos due to political policies..
And mind you no matter how a state government desired to built a seaport the federal government must give it licenses to operates (because all security agency that regulate international security and country's water shore are regulated by federal government)otherwise no ship will be allow to dock at the port same things as international airport..
So if all ship is docking at Lagos port ( which is not even the largest port that tell you their is a political game going on), if I m a business man and I know that the ship that will bring my goods to the country will be delayed at the sea if I direct the ship to deliver at another port apart from Lagos port( where I will be paying millions of naira in demurrage because of political reason wouldn't I just sent my goods to be ship straight to Lagos where politics will not hinder much )

The mother of Jesus you mentioned, if she were to come into existence in the present day she might not put on that veil she wore.,maybe you will also ask men to put on skirt as they always wear centuries ago... Putting of Hijabs is not originated in Islam world alone,is a sign of subdued, when you covered your head or face you are either a slave or subject that is being subdued.if it was right in centuries ago,that doesn't make it right or compelling dressing pattern in the present century.Any religion that due practice it in centuries ago aborished most of this culture of seeing women as inferior being or slave or subject to be subdue..Islam still sees women as inferior or slave to men, or subdued being that is why they still practice that old culture of compelling their female to wear the hijab,so is noting about modesty...they believe women has no right or place in existence except to give birth or satisfy their sexual urge...

The issue of hijab in school in Nigeria is a misplaced priorities. I keep asking myself always why then is the school having a school uniform if some set of student will come up with issue of hijab..you take your child to a school where is stated in the school regulations that uniform should be worn, you agreed just because you want your child be registered after they registered your child ,you send your child to school with hijab on her head then you start protesting online,on street that your child is been ask to go home or your child is been harassed just because they ask him/her to remove the hijab is that not madness.
If you believe in the culture that your female child have no right in the society,that does not make another man to follow your believe too that his female child must end up the way you want your female child to end up..so you keep you female child with her hijab around you or environment where she wouldn't be odd..

The sharing of revenue generated from VAT will continue to be like this for the following reason
1. Equality purpose: yes some of you might say there no equity in the sharing but we should also educate ourselves that VAT is generated from service or goods that are being generated by an organization irrespective of their various branches i.e the VAT announced by say company A with head branches/head quarter in Lagos,is the total VAT accrued from all the branches in the country.so now Lagos started claimed the VAT because the head quarter of the company A is in Lagos.
2. To balance government policy and expenditures policy: example if fg used Nigeria money(either capital obtained from loan) to build refinery in Port Harcourt , if the VAT generated is only meant for PH other state or region will oppose future establishment of project in other state irrespective of consideration if the proposed region is best suited for the project. So if Lagos state is allowed to hold all the revenue accrued through VAT, other state will oppose any propose project in Lagos that project could actually have been suited in the Lagos .so their will disagreement on where a project should be established using FG / Nigeria money
3. The nature of government being practice: if Nigeria is practicing regional government,then each state or region will be able to hold on the VAT generated.but since we aren't practicing regional government that dream can never be possible

So some us shouting Lagos produce more VAT that the all south east state combined, just remember that almost all companies south east definitely has there head office in Lagos,so they will declared the company annual or quarterly VAT in the head office not the branches office.,same also goes In other area. also the goods are being sold not only in Lagos,but all part of Nigeria.so every citizens of Nigeria contribute to that VAT generated in Lagos

In actual fact there is no snake in any of the 2 pic frame..if you seeing any snake is just your imagination, I saw this post some days ago on FB . immediately I look at the center I realize what majority were calling snake..

Isreal is very small and so a bruteforce approach from iran will likely hit juicy targets. Israel's defence is also very expensive. Asides these major disadvantages, i see fewer ways Iran can gravely hurt Israel.

I wonder why Israel hasnt figured out a way to take down more of Iran's zigzag missiles. Something like a curtain of drones should do that. A curtain of drones that identifies direction of incoming missile barrages and just rises to form a curtain, then employ bruteforce in reverse to shoot down the missiles. That should be cheaper than iron dome. Even Ukraine needs such too.

The secret in building this type of stair is that ,there is always embedded reinforcement in the wall that serve as support to each riser.the top reinforcement usually rest on the steel and the steel sometimes is attached to the wall. So this enable the stair to withstand any load within the column in between. In some case,a stretch of 25mm or 32mm reinforcement bar is use as the bottom bar, the length of the stair is ensure is same as the bottom bar.so the design requires no column or mid span landing support.
The disadvantage of this type of stair is just it place load(lateral loading on the wall of the build ,in some case the stair is designed separate from the building wall.) and also it requires great energy to climb most especially for aged users.
