Police in Edo State has confirmed the arrest of a 26-year-old woman who stabbed her married lover to death in Benin City.

Police identified the woman as Gift Obieriei, a mother of three, from Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the deceased, Mr Eghosa Iguodala, a commercial bus driver, is married and has four children.

Late Iguodala and the suspect were having an extramarital affair before the incident which occurred at Imafidon Street, Off Upper Siluko Road, Egor Quarters, Benin City about 12 noon on Monday, October 24, 2022.

In a video, a woman whose right wrist was handcuffed to the back seat of a car while she identified herself simply as Gift, from Delta State, a resident of Uhogua Community in Benin City, Said the deceased, on seeing her in another person’s residence, attacked her.

“When he saw me with another person, he came to fight me at the person’s house. I don’t live in his house, I went to see someone,” she narrated.

An acting clip of the son of presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, Gregory Oseloka Obi, has caused a stir on social media.

This is coming after the spokesman of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) Festus Keyamo (SAN) challenged Peter Obi to urge his son, Oseloka to organize a campaign march in Awka, Anambra state.

Former minister of aviation and chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode has once again called out the Labour Candidate, Peter Obi for making an anti-Muslim comment while addressing congregants in the church.

More details have emerged in the barbaric murder of Anpe Pankyes, better known as Chop Boii.

The singer, who hails from Plateau State but lives in Abuja, was found murdered earlier this week at a residence at 62 Crescent, Gwarimpa.

A friend took to Twitter to reiterate that Chob Boii was not the target but he was simply caught up in the wrong place.

Chop Boii, his producer Beerolings, and the producer's girlfriend Blessing were all found dead in the apartment on September 27.

A man who flaunts money on social media and encourages his followers to "hustle" has been arrested for alleged kidnapping.

The man nicknamed "Lion" is said to be a dreaded kidnap kingpin.

He was traced to Abuja from Bayelsa and was arrested.

A video of Lion after his arrest shows him begging for mercy. He claimed he has only kidnapped two people.

He also begged to be set free because his wife just had a baby.

However, a man there claimed to be one of Lion's victims and insisted the suspect has kidnapped more than two people.

The police in Houston, Texas have arrested a 38-year-old Nigerian man, Bolanle Fadairo, for allegedly killing his fellow Nigerian and friend of 30 years, Michael Essien and leaving the victim's two-year-old son, Micah, to die in a hot car in the Gulfton area of southwest Houston.

Fadairo is accused of shooting 38-year-old Essien to death after an argument outside a strip center in the 5500 block of El Camino Del Rey and Chimney Rock on Tuesday, September 20. Investigators say Fadairo admitted that he had known Essien for about 30 years, and even used the victim's home address to receive mail.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Friday blew open the lid, saying the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu collected N1 billion during the party’s presidential primary.

He said he collected the money to manipulate the primary election in favour of Atiku Abubakar.

Wike, at an explosive news conference on Friday, said Ayu was calling aspirants to withdraw for Atiku, saying he and the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and others were present.


“He manipulated the delegates. There was nothing Ayu did not do to ensure Wike didn’t emerge. Ayu is corrupt. Quote me. I am a lawyer and I am the governor of Rivers State. Ayu collected N1 billion in Lagos.

The Abia State Police Command has paraded a dismissed personnel of the Department of State Services, DSS, Prosper Israel, and nine other suspected robbers.

The suspects were part of the 14-man robbery gang that ambushed a bullion van near the Ntigha junction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway on July 26, 2022.

A yet-to-be identified woman has reportedly died in an auto crash in Calabar, Cross River State while chasing her husband who she saw with another woman at a shopping mall.

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has attacked former governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, saying he is a mole in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said it was unfortunate that the PDP has continued to allow the former Niger State governor to remain a member of its highest decision making body after he publicly confessed to working alongside others to frustrate former President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid in 2015.

The governor also clarify that he was not aware if the PDP national chairman has disagreement with stakeholders of the party in Rivers State.

He stressed that if there existed any form of conflict between Secondus and others stakeholders in the State, the national chairman would have made it known to all concern.

Wike explained that the reason why Babanigda has recently embarked on a campaign of calumny against him. saying it was because he had refused to invite him to Commission some of his legacy projects in Rivers State.

He maintained that only former governors and incumbent ones who had delivered or were delivering democratic dividends in their states were qualified to inaugurate projects in Rivers State.

Reacting to Babangida’s accusation that he was a dictator in the PDP, the governor said it was rather disingenuous for a man who has refused to allow a credible party congress take place in Niger State to cast aspersion on him.

The governor warned the PDP to be wary of Aliyu Babangida and other moles who are determined to ruin the party’s chances of winning the 2023 general elections.

He noted that while PDP governors were busy delivering democratic dividends in their respective states, the likes of Babangida were busy sowing seed of discord.
