The Labour Party (LP) candidate, Henry Nigeria Mbachu has been declared winner in Awka 1 State Constituency, Anambra state capital.
Henry defeated his counterpart of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, Nwafor Igwedinma Samuel to clinch the ticket.

The Constituency is where the Anambra State Government House and other top administrative offices are located.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Rafael Odigbo of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, said that Mbachu, polled 8,591 votes, adding that Nwafor of APGA, came second with 8,315 votes while Okoye Uche of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came third with 5,656 votes.

The Labour party candidate in the March 18 governorship election in Plateau state, Patrick Dakum, has conceded defeat and called the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Caleb Mutfwang, to congratulate him on his victory at the polls.
Results announced by INEC showed Mutfwang scored 525,299 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nantawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 481,370 votes while Patrick Dakum of the Labour Party (LP) came a distant third with 60,310 votes.

In his call to Mutwang, Dakum wished him well as the next governor of the state.

‘’I have just called Caleb Mutfwang to congratulate him as elected Governor of Plateau State and pray Gods guidance for him. May Plateau be the beneficiary of God’s blessings in the days ahead. The Labour Party will continue work for a better Plateau.”

Law 1. Never Outshine the Master

Despite the crucial role that BAT played in getting Buhari to Aso Rock,at no point did he attempt to upstage him. He often showed absolute loyalty & respect even in the face of obvious disrespect. He always left trivial insults for the big picture.

Law 4. Always Say Less Than Necessary.

For years, Dino Melaye, Bukola Saraki, Afenifere,Bode George have openly disrespected and insulted Tinubu. BAT might have been taught “Silence is the best answer for a fool” in primary school, but the man took it to extreme lengths He NEVER responded. He only ensured political irrelevance of his foes.

Law 6. Court Attention at All Costs.

For years, critics of Tinubu who were envious of his prominent role in uprooting PDP from Aso Rock, spent years mourning the loss and insulting the man. What they didn’t know was that the insults made him a constant on the lips of everyone.

I have very reliable sources in Aso Rock who said Tinubu intentionally made gaffes like “gazelle garagara” and “bala blu blu bala” to keep his name in the news while distracting his opponents from the big picture. It was ALL misdirection.

Law 7. Get Others to Do the Work for You, but Always Take the Credit.

Tinubu through a middle man instigated Peter Obi into running for Presidency. Obi went to Atiku to beg for a chance to be running mate and was coldly rejected. Atiku told him pointblank that he didn’t associate with failures.

While Obi was in a sad state (said to be crying), the middle man approached him and said some big men who wanted to remain anonymous will finance his candidacy as an independent candidate. Obi never knew he was being financed by Tinubu to run against him! Very reliable sources close to APC and the man himself confided in me.

Law 15. Crush Your Enemy Totally.

The high number of votes Obi got was intended to psychologically break Atiku. Atiku will always think of what could have been if he teamed up with Obi.This will make him lose taste to run for Presidency again.

If APC which already weakened by Buhari’s ‘poor’ performance could still beat PDP with such a wide margin… the defeat is psychological which is at times more traumatic and longer lasting than physical defeat.

Law 16. Use Absence to Increase Respect and Honor.

Tinubu intentionally refused any debates organized. By the time he appeared on Chatham House, BBC and the NESG… audiences hung on EVERY single word he uttered. This is why he had such a strong showing especially in the NESG His absence generated a lot of interest when he finally took the stage.

Law 21. Play a Sucker to Catch a Sucker – Appear Dumber Than Your Mark.

While some of his rivals were busy fantasizing how to wrestle control of Lagos State from Tinubu’s hands, they forgot elections were conducted in 36 states plus the FCT. He appeared like a fool but he knew allowing a win in Lagos will even increase the validity of the election results.

When EFCC was storming his polling units, when military tanks were rolling into Lagos, his critics jubilated not knowing the true purpose of those tanks were to quell any post elections violence.

Law 29. Plan All the Way to the End.

Most mortals would rest easy if they had the “advantages” BAT had. “Oh, I am the ticket holder of the ruling party, I helped the President and his Vice to power, I can sleep assured” Bola Tinubu campaigned harder than his rivals.

He campaigned like he was in a relatively small party like FRESH or Accord. He NEVER left anything to chance from Primaries to Presidency. Even to petitions at tribunals post election, I wouldn’t explain that further.

Law 42. Strike the Shepherd, and the Sheep Will Scatter

At a point when it seemed the Cabal wanted to install another candidate during the APC primaries, Tinubu fearlessly struck at the heart of the Cabal. Glory favours the bold, unlike Atiku who deleted a tweet condemning Deborah Samuel’s death or Peter Obi who ran away from PDP primaries before it even started.

BAT boldly confronted the President, Vice President,Senate President & Party Chairman. Few weeks before elections,a cash shortage & fuel scarcity were caused to negatively affect Tinubu’s chance. He very boldly confronted the Presidency till there was a Supreme Court stalemate.

Commercial motorcycle riders (Okada riders) in southern Kaduna celebrated greatly when Mr. Donatus Mathew, a colleague and the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for the House of Representatives, was proclaimed the victor of the election for the Kaura Federal constituency of Kaduna State.
Hon. Giden Gwani, a four-term representative and the minority chief whip in the House of Representatives, was beaten by Mathew.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended elections in 141 polling units of Bayelsa state.
Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, said the exercise was postponed in the affected polling units because the voting process was disrupted.

The INEC chairman spoke on Saturday while briefing journalists at the collation centre, Abuja, on the ongoing general election.

State chairmen of the Labour Party (LP) have declared that the presidential candidate of the party Peter Obi cannot win on Saturday.
This, they said, is because he has neglected the 36 State chairmen in the running of campaign and molibisation activities.

Alleging neglect by Obi, they said the former Anambra Governor has failed to recognise the important role of the 36 state chapters’ leadership but choose to work with cronies and support groups.

The Gombe State LP chairman and co-ordinating chairman for the 36 States, Sani Abdulsalam, told reporters in Abuja that such tendencies could affect the party’s performance at the polls.

He was accompanied by the national vice chairman (North East), Mohammed Alkali and the Yobe State chairman, Ibrahim Bukar, amongst others.

Abdulsalam alleged that money meant for the mobilisation of poll agents was withheld by the national chairman, Julius Abure.

He hinted that monies expected to be channelled to polling unit agents through state chairmen or national officers have not been done, stressing the fundamental need for polling unit agents for winning elections.

While bemoaning the paucity of LP’s polling unit agents, among other things, he accused Obi of insensitivity and high-handedness.

Abdulsalam said: “I speak on behalf of 36 state Chairmen of our party in my capacity as the Coordinating Chairman.

“We have never been respected by the party leadership and also our presidential candidate has no respect for our party executives at state levels because Peter Obi deliberately mismanaged our goodwill with the imposition of his members and other support groups that decamped with him in May 2022 to our party.

“Of note, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, was the meeting we had with the National Chairman in the party head office where a discussion was held about the logistics support for state chapters and National officers towards effective Mobilisation of our members for the presidential and National Assembly election on Saturday, February 25, 2023

“To our surprise, the National Chairman said the Presidential candidate has no confidence in all the 36 state chapters’ leadership but would rather choose to work with their cronies and support group that came with him.

“The greatest shock from the National Chairman was that money for agents will not be sent to any State Chairman or National officers except those three NWC members including a woman and that all state Chairmen and 19 other members already picked by Mr Peter Obi himself will be given monies meant for party agents and an alert will be received by 10 pm tonight Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

“As of now, no alert has been received by any State Chairmen and information reaching us confirmed that money was paid based on ethnic and religious consideration because only persons of a particular ethnic group currently run the campaign of Mr Peter Obi in cohort with the National Chairman, has polluted the party.

According to a Finland news outlet HS, the police escorted the separatist out of his apartment in Lahti.

“We the people of Biafra will fight to the end this time,” the last message read.

Ekpa pushes for the independence of Biafra, which is located in South-Eastern Nigeria, at all costs. He is inciting people on social media to boycott Saturday’s presidential election.

Lahti’s Etelä-Suomen Sanomat newspaper reported on Thursday that Ekpa “doesn’t hide the fact that he is participating in the elimination of government officials.” He even leads the operation and acquires weapons”.

EKPA publicly claims to have replaced Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu after he was arrested. He also claims to command IPOB’s armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

But the tangle is complicated. Some of those claiming to be members of IPOB or ESN accuse Ekpa of lying and misusing Kanu’s name.

The purpose is to demand that Ekpa explain what his separatism and opposition to the elections is all about.

The police arrested one man from the apartment. Krp suspects the arrested man of a crime, but does not comment on the crime at this stage.

Reen did not confirm the man’s identity, but only spoke in general about the operation in the apartment in the center of Lahti. He did not comment further on the matter.

NIGERIA has asked Finland to intervene in Ekpa’s activities. Last week, the Nigerian foreign minister invited the Finnish ambassador Leena Pylvänäinen to a meeting because of the topic.

Jussi Nummelin , the team leader for Western and Central Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland , told HS a week ago on Thursday that Finland shares the concern for security, and condemns violence and incitement to it, as well as “actions aimed at preventing people from exercising their democratic rights”.

Nummelin emphasized, however, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not an actual party in the case, but that the police have jurisdiction if it is a question of a suspected crime.

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress and the Special Adviser for Drainage and Water Resources to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Joe Igbokwe has lamented over the scarcity of the new naira notes in Nigeria’s bank.
In a video posted on social media, Mr. Joe Igbokwe was seen lamenting the non availability of the new naira note.

The Lagos State police command has declared one Mr. Tajudeen Olanrewaju Bakare, for wielding a pump action rifle and threatening public peace.

In a statement released by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), working on actionable intelligence, carried out a sting operation on the residence of the man in the Surulere area of the state.

Thisweekng gathered that, during the sting operation, Tajudeen, narrowly escape arrest. Found in the suspect’s residence were three pump action rifles, one Beretta pistol magazine, one expended and three live cartridges and a picture frame of the suspect.

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a 55-year-old Nigerian man who is accused of bringing in suspected counterfeit CFA France and Nigerian Naira notes.

On January 17, 2023, Aremu Timothy Adegboyega was detained by a joint security team as he attempted to enter Ghana from Togo via the unauthorized Beat Zero route in Aflao.

Ahmed Majeed Amandi, Assistant Commissioner of the Aflao Division of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), reported that the employees discovered CFA 80,000,000 in brand-new notes, along with another CFA 843,000 in the suspect’s waist bag and N 110,500 in his wallet.

Adegboyega, who was accused of having fake notes, entered a not guilty plea. The accused was a flight risk and would impede the police investigation, so the prosecution asked the court to remand him.

The accused was remanded into police custody by the court, which was presided over by Mrs. Afia Owusuaa Appiah.

The court ordered the prosecution to submit and serve all disclosures and witness testimonies. The matter will now be heard on February 9, 2023.

The complainants were Customs Officers assigned to the Aflao Sector, whereas the accused was based in Cote D’Ivoire, according to the prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Isaac Anquandah.

The prosecution said on January 17, 2023, the complainants were on duty at Beat Zero, an unapproved route along the Ghana-Togo border within the Aflao Sector. It said at about 1530 hours on the same day, the complainants accosted the accused person sitting on a motorcycle as a pillion rider carrying a backpack.

The prosecution said the accused person, who was travelling from Togo, entered Ghana through an unapproved route so the complainants became suspicious and conducted a search in the backpack he was carrying. It said the search revealed bundles of CFA Franc notes and Nigerian Naira notes suspected to be counterfeit currency notes being smuggled into the country through the unapproved route.


The prosecution said the currency notes were counted in front of the accused person and it was found to be CFA80,653,000.00 and N10,500.00. It said the accused person was later escorted to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority Headquarters, Accra for further investigations.

The prosecution said on January 20, 2023, the case was handed over to the Police for continuation of investigations. It said the accused person allegedly admitted the offence in his investigation cautioned statement and indicated that he was aware that the notes were counterfeit and claimed, one Alhaji Dialo, a mallam in Abidjan, sent him to pick the currency notes from one Alhaji Saibu in Nigeria.

The majority of Nigerians would surely find the storyline of the series to be highly relatable.

Richard Mofe-Damijo, who played a powerful drug cartel head and human trafficker seeking for office, is one of the show’s most notable messages. Under the guise of Chief Dacosta Oluyomi Fernandez, he attempted to seize total control of the streets using his illegally obtained wealth by first taking over a key area of his territory.

In episode two, Chief Fernandez boasted that he controlled a sizable portion of Lagos and was ready to seize control of the entire city. He is easily recognized by his distinctive cap and set of glasses.


In his part as a form of satire as Nigeria gears up for a general election, Bola Tinubu plays a strong politician from Lagos with a background of drug peddling, thuggery, public corruption, and ruthless racketeering. Simon Ekpa, a controversial disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has threatened supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Simon Ekpa stated during a since-deleted Facebook live broadcast on Saturday morning that the former governor of Anambra did not “represent Biafran interest” and should not “distort the Biafra dream.”

Victor Umeh, the Labour Party’s (LP) senatorial candidate in the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, has commented on the removal of his campaign board by the Anambra state government.
The removal of the campaign board was ordered by the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, according to Umeh, who made this revelation to journalists on Tuesday in Awka.

The governor allegedly gave the order during a meeting with a few members of his party at the governor’s lodge, according to the LP chieftain.


According to the former senator, the party spent N1 million on the billboard space.

He asserted that when it was taken down, a different party’s billboard was placed there.

He said, “He ordered them to remove it, but someone told him that I duly paid for the billboard to stand at Unizik temporary junction, but he replied that they should refund my money to me, that that space was too strategic for any other political party to display their billboards.


“They removed it on Saturday morning, and on Saturday evening, they replaced it with APGA billboard.

“I made inquiries before I accepted to pay for that billboard. That space was previously occupied by Interfact Brewery, makers of Hero Beer, and when their contract there expired, an advertising company which is duly registered, which works with us told us the space was vacant.

“We paid N1 million for our billboard to be hoisted on that space, and the billboard had my face and that of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. The advertising company also paid the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) for the billboard.

“That billboard has been there since December, and the contract was to expire after the election, but he ordered that it be removed. He did it in bad faith, and I heard that he has asked me to go to court if I liked, that if I do, the matter will remain there until after the election.”


Speaking further, Umeh claimed that on the day the order for the billboard removal was issued about five people in the meeting called him to inform him of the development.

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has come under fire over a tweet on his social media account from the former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili.

The All Progressives Congress’ (APC) youth wing has disclosed the rationale for the creation of the “Jagaban army” in support of Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.

Thisweekng has learned that over the weekend, social media erupted as Dayo Israel, the APC’s national youth leader, officially launched a political organization named the “Jagaban Army.”

He claims that the Jagaban Army is a group of young people who will organize and cast the necessary ballots for Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.

However, the army’s introduction was met with criticism and widespread condemnation, with some online commenters claiming that the creation resembles the Tinubu campaign’s military force.

It was learnt that their release was against the backdrop of the call by Oyo State Chief Judge, Justice Munga Abimbola who ordered the release of 58 detainees who had spent long periods in the state prisons.

Justice Abimbola on Monday declared that prolonged detention was a breach of people’s constitutional rights, reiterating that the stand of the law is that a “person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

As part of a three-day tour to the state’s prisons, the CJ made this remark in the Agodi Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
