The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has a video that has surfaced online.
This is in the middle of rumors that the PDP flagbearer is ill and has been flown to London, England, for medical attention.

The Waziri of Adamawa allegedly traveled from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to the UK last weekend amid plans for political rallies.

However, on January 9, Dino Melaye, the PDP presidential campaign council’s spokesman, shared a video of himself and Atiku leaving the country on his Twitter page.

Olusegun Obasanjo is not qualified to suggest or endorse anyone as President of Nigeria, according to Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, “because of his failures.”

Speaking at the APC Presidential Campaign rally at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo Campus, Benin, Edo State, the APC flag-bearer claimed that when Obasanjo had the chance to develop the nation, he instead chose to fight his then Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, accusing each other of using public funds for their own comfort.


After spending $16 billion on electricity, according to Tinubu, Obasanjo and the PDP administration were unable to provide enough power for Nigerians to even make popcorn.

When he was governor of Lagos, Tinubu remembered bringing in Enron Power to produce electricity and address the power issue in the country’s commercial hub, but the project was stymied by the Obasanjo-led PDP administration.

“I brought in Enron to help the Lagos economy and solve the electrical crisis, but Obasanjo and the PDP sabotaged it,” he said. They penalized me and the residents of Lagos and even started taking our money.


“I established Local Governments in Lagos to promote economic growth and provide jobs for the populace, but Obasanjo seized our funding and punished us as a result. That was wickedness, and this man claimed to have recommended a candidate for your presidential vote. Can you follow a man like that? Does Obasanjo have somebody in Nigeria he would suggest as a leader? A man cannot lead the path if he does not know the road, according to Tinubu.

As the 2023 election gathers steam, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu on Thursday said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag-bearer of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not qualified to be President of Nigeria “having indicted himself on his record as a civil servant”.

“Atiku was a custom officer who said he made money selling cars, that is smuggling. He didn’t even know that a civil servant cannot do any other business apart from agriculture.

“That is enough to disqualify him and he is not fit to be President,” Tinubu said.

The National Director of Publicity and Advocacy of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has said Peter Obi’s presidency in 2023 “could end the Biafran cause”.

Baba-Ahmed said the “most formidable foe” of the Labour Party presidential candidate is “the violence in the East”.


The elder statement also expressed his belief that it would be difficult for the former Anambra State governor to emerge victorious in next month’s poll, considering he is battling “titans” – Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar.

Baba-Ahmed wrote: “Peter Obi’s Labour Party would have made a greater impact if he had earlier charted a different course as a different politician and created greater distance from the titans that he is fighting today.

“His hard-core fanatical followers believe more in miracles than in the routine trudging, hustling, and negotiating for votes.


“His primary constituency is wrought with multiple cross-cutting political interests, and he is unable to resolve a primary contradiction: his presidency could end the Biafran cause, wiping out a lot of the beneficiaries of an idea whose essence can be found in every inch of Nigeria.”

Police officers in Kenya have arrested one Thomas Muthee Ng’ang’a suspected to be behind the brutal murder of his lover, Naneu Muthoni.

31-year-old Muthoni was found dead in the suspect's house at Onyoka Estate, Lang'ata, a few meters from her family home, on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Two male undergraduates of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia State have been found dead in their room.

The victims were identified simply as Victor and Chinonso Edeh, otherwise known as Decency.

They were 200 level students of the institution and staying in the same apartment outside the campus.

Mr Edeh, said to be an officer in his departmental association, was seeking re-election.

The election was scheduled for next week.

The students died after eating food reportedly bought by an unidentified commercial motorcyclist on Friday.

An accounting officer in a gas plant located in Imo State, Miss Joy Uchechi Nwachukwu, 22, has allegedly been killed by her colleagues in an attempt to steal the company’s money.

Uchechi went to work on Monday, October 24, and that was the last she was seen.

When her family didn't hear from her or see her at the end of the work day and her coworkers could not account for her, they raised alarm.

The family members led by one Pastor Mrs. Precious Abara reported the case to the state’s Police Command and officers were detailed to commence an investigation.

Francesca Amony, a former National Secretary for the DP Women’s League handed herself in, to the Police, after she reportedly stabbed her husband, Dr. Joseph Etuk, to death.

The United States Army has promoted a woman of Nigerian descent, Amanda Azubuike, from Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier General at a military base in Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA.

Born in London, United Kingdom, to Nigerian parents, Azubuike joined the US Army in 1994 and became an aviator after passing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.

Policewoman Accuses Colleague Of Assault In Osun policewoman, Olorunsogo Bamidele, has accused a colleague of hers at the Ode Omu Division Headquarters in Osun State, Matthew Ajayi, of assault and blackmail.

In a video that surfaced on Facebook on Tuesday, the policewoman alleged that Ajayi propositioned her and she refused on the grounds that she is a married woman.

Students collapse at Jamaican High school during devotion

Classes were dismissed early Wednesday at Oberlin High in St Andrew in Jamaica over an incident which involved students reportedly falling to the ground and screaming after a religious exercise.

Speaking to Observer Online, a staff of the school said more than 200 students collapsed in the incident.

A staff said a female teacher was talking to the students about their behavior and decided to pray for them because she said "she got a message" from God. Shortly after the teacher started praying, students started shaking and "dropping".

The affected students were reportedly transported to the Lawrence Tavern Health Centre, Stony Hill Health Centre and Kingston Public Hospital.

It was also learnt that the school, the principal and board members had a meeting over the incident.

The country's Ministry of Education says it is investigating the incident and will provide details to the public on what transpired at the school.

One of the affected students who spoke with Radio Jamaica News, said she and her fellow classmates became disorientated during devotion. She also said she does not know exactly how many students fainted.

The student said;

"So, we were all up there and we were keeping devotion and they start pray and… the teachers got into spirit, and a girl in 11th grade - she’s a prefect at Oberlin High School as well - she got into spirt. And from that, everybody start faint, basically.

"I don’t have a number, but the auditorium of Oberlin High School, that was full, and the nurse's office was full, and the agriculture lab was full, and outside pickney was actually fainting again, over and over."

Antoinette Gray, the acting principal of Oberlin High School, later sought to explain what happened at the school.

She said all students and teachers were participating in general assembly in the school yard when two teachers were given an opportunity to share what she calls a "word" with the students.
