General question. Do you prefer to invest your equity funds as a lump sum with 1 fund manager or diversify into 2 or 3 different fund managers and why? |
EquityM:Does this apply to minimum holding periods for funds generally or just first ally premium? |
EquityM:Wow. The ones on cowrywise arent impressive at the moment. Afrinvest is the highest at 11%. Making necessary changes this week. I have zero loyalty to any fund manager. |
Zedcrest equity fund is 19.75% ytd! Putting something there tomorrow. I'm shocked. It's their first year with equity fund. They only did mmf and fixed income funds before. How are they so far ahead? |
Gratefulme:Stanbic show their ytd on their asset management fund pages. https://www.stanbicibtcfundsmanagement.com/invest-now-dw6gy99x Click on "view fund analysis" of the fund you're interested in. It will take you to that particular fund page and you can see the ytd, the 1 year % change and the 5 year % change. It's updated daily during the week after trading hours. |
Jayce242:EquityM just posted the link to the sec site for the weekly valuation updates for all mutual funds in nigeria. Bookmark it. https://sec.gov.ng/documents/1432/NAV-as-at-2nd-January-2026.xlsx is the direct link to the Jan 2nd 2026 update showing the ytd for funds at the end of 2025 and start of 2026. |

There are halal options for all mutual fund classes. I noticed they outperformed the regular funds in their classes last year. That arm halal balanced fund closed at 54% ytd for 2025 while other balanced funds closed below 50% ytd. It even outperformed some regular equity funds like Ucap equity. For actual halal equity funds, stanbic Imaan fund closed with 84% ytd in 2025 and outperformed almost all the regular equity funds. I think only Halo equity fund beat it. Of course, past performance isn't a guarantee of future performance but they're doing well now. |
Cs fixed income fund having 4% ytd is the highest I've seen. Others aren't even up to 2% yet. And with no minimum holding period. Amazing Edit: minimum holding period of 90 days. |
EquityM:I've noticed Ethical equity funds like the ESG usually outperform regular equity fund. Last year, Stanbic Imaan fund did 84% and their Ethical did around 70%. Even now, both funds are over 12% ytd, higher than he standard equity fund. And their nav is less than 1k. Stanbic equity nav is about 47k which is crazy to me. When dividends are paid by companies, do you know if they are also allocated to equity funds and then paid out to unit holders? I'm only aware of the returns from price increase. |
EquityM:Wow, that's crazy. Definitely for the hnis only. Thanks. |
EquityM:First time I'm seeing/hearing a fund manager say they've hit maximum fund subscriptions. Didn't know that was a thing. Not going near them at all, thank you for the caution. I currently do paramount and afrinvest and those are doing well so far. Especially Paramount. I did stanbic balanced fund but I want to exit and switch to their equity instead. I don't know whether to switch now during this bull run or wait for the bull run to end before withdrawing and switching. They have a 3 months holding period and it's been just 1 month but returns of 30k have accrued already since January and they'll take 20% of that. I will check out CS. Their app and swift redemption surprised me since they're one of the older ones. |
welzyj2:The fund breakdowns/ asset allocations on cowrywise are old and not updated regularly. Check the most recent fact sheet of the fund to find the updated asset allocation as the fund managers carry out some repositioning and update monthly and/or quarterly. Some of them even list their top 3-5 stock holdings. UCap Equity fund last I checked (q4 2025) was 70% equity. |
Ewo, finally I have found my people. Thank you for creating this thread. That MF thread isn't equity friendly at all. Anyway, has anyone tried Zedcrest equity fund? It's doing some crazy returns ytd however I think it's their first year so no existing past performance to look at. Paramount is doing well and their withholding period is just 1 month. My goat. I found the site on the sec where the weekly performance of all funds are posted. Halo seems to be taking the lead again this year for equity. I'm rambling, sorry I'm happy I found this thread. |
EquityM:Had to go back nothing less than 20 pages to see equity fund discussion. Which product is CSOF? I know it's Cardinal Stone but only know of their mmf and Equity. Never used them though. I was originally conservative but with the dropping mmf rates and understanding how mmf doesn't even beat inflation, my risk appetite grew. I still use mmf as my emergency fund but I branched out with coral balanced fund and now do Balanced fund and about 2 different Equity fund too. They did really well last year and so far, so good. Q1 is shaping up nicely. Which product is CSOF pls? |
Bossgem:Give them 24 business/working hours. You made the transaction on a Friday. Be patient. This is still sunday. It should reflect before close of business on Monday. |
kristien4:Cowrywise |
Neurotika:All sec registered. Prices today: TrustBanc mmf 21.11% United Capital 21.29% Fsdh's Coral mmf 22.33% Afrinvest plutus 18.88% Meristem mmf 21.27% ARM money mf 22.72% Stanbic ibtc mmf 21.02% Vetiva money mf 21.13% Zedcrest wealth 21.68% Cowrywise mmf 22.87% This is the lowest ARM has been in over a week now. It was 22.87 for 3 days straight a few days ago. Of course there are still so many not on this list. |
skydiver01:What's the interest % for this 2036 fgn bond? Are fgn bonds available weekly like t-bills? |
Uberchic1:So I decided to try Zedcrest Wealth myself to check out their mutual funds. They offer naira and dollar savings, and treasury bills as well. But my main interest was the mutual funds. And so far they offer a Money Market Fund, and a Fixed Income Fund. The money market fund has fair interest rate and was above 22% since I put some money in it. Was at 23.44% when I invested, and is at 22.90% today. Was 22.18% yesterday. Then I tried their fixed income fund out of curiosity cos it had 9.62% YTD. Oh boy, since I funded that one, the money just kept decreasing and increasing slightly but never went above what I actually put there. And the YTD has dropped to 9.12%. So do that one at your own risk. Now, where they shine. I was discouraged and sold my fixed income fund units. I lost just N23. The sale was instant. My wallet was credited immediately. And I immediately withdrew the funds into my registered bank account and my gt account was credited within 2 minutes. The whole process of selling my fixed income fund units and my funds entering my Gtb account took nothing more than 5 minutes total. That was impressive to me cos some fund managers take a whole 24 hrs to process withdrawal. Pros: instant sale of units, instant withdrawal, withdrawal can only be made into a commercial bank account registered to your bvn and in your own name. In all this since registering, I didn't have to contact customer care once. *Forgot to add, no top-up or withdrawal fee wen funding into or withdrawing your funds from your wallet. Cons: omo, don't try their fixed income fund if you don't have high risk appetite abeg. Anyway, wanted to share my review cos I can't find any customer reviews on zedcrest here. |
legacystore:Piggyvest is sec licensed too. Pocket, their subsidiary, is ndic insured. Not sure up to how much though. |
Please does anyone have experience with Stanbic ibtc Guaranteed Investment Fund (SiGif)? Sounds like a safer alternative to the balanced fund with only 10% total allocated to equities and guaranteed return of capital. Can't find much from people who have invested in it. |
Oyindamolah:Ha, noo oooo. From 10k and above, top up is processed at N250 flat. and that's for top up via bank transfer. Which is how I did it. They also have the card option to top up but that one is about 1k-2k processing fee. I've funded the acct only once on my birthday cos they gave me free top up as birthday gift. That's my only issue with them. |
lajid:Cowrywise is sec licensed. But they don't have nice rates for regular savings or fixed deposit. Where they shine is their emergency savings and mutual funds. They have their own Cowrywise money market portfolio along with several other mutual funds available on their platform. The emergency savings is based on the money market. It's usually around 21% per annum. Downside is withdrawal takes 24 working hrs. They also charge N250 for top ups over 10k and N75 for 5k top ups. And N25 for lower. Their platform is easy to use imo and like every other other financial platform, have good and bad reviews. I use their own cowrywise money market portfolio. |
Is anyone using Coronation mmf by Coronation asset management? How are they and what's their rate today? I've seen someone on Twitter claim it's 26.88% today but their website doesn't share that info and you have to sign up to get any info on their app |
uwaifou:Did you eventually try Zedcrest Wealth or get info about their mmf? |
legacystore:Them and Renmoney have the highest interest rate for locking money, I believe. That said, I'll advise anyone interested to read more customer reviews and weed out the PR ones before making a decision. There's a LOT of fairmoney (and renmoney) PR about. My experiences have been good but I've never taken loan from them or used the fairlock or put more than N2m there. And again, your funds are insured only up to N2m as it's a microfinance bank. |
legacystore:They're SEC licensed and your funds are NDIC insured up to N2m. I've used them for about 2 years for savings only; their fairsave feature which claims 17% interest with no withdrawal restrictions but is more 15.7% with my calculation (which could be wrong). Their app could also be better. But I haven't had any issue with money going missing or unexplained deductions. Their 28% fairlock is for 2 years though. 1 year fairlock is 26% |
ernie4life:Apart from getequity, what other legit app can I find these on please? |
ernie4life:The picture isn't clear. What's the second one? Robust? Also how do you get these offers to your email? I can see Dangote and Access bank offers on getequity. |
emmasoft:Please are you aware of any other money market fund that has the option for paying out returns monthly like stanbic mmf? |
Please apart from stanbic mmf, is there any other money market fund that pays out the interest/returns monthly instead of quarterly? |
Do you have authentic Mi 9 battery? |
