Please how long does post office keep items before sending them back if the owner doesn't come to pick up? My package was delivered to the Agege post office on 26th January but I am not in Lagos at the moment. How many days will it be there before they send it back to the UK? Is it up to a week or 2 weeks?

0 to 0.5kg is ₦500
0.5kg and above is ₦1,500. However, this fee will also apply to phones and certain electronic devices regardless of the weight.
Thank you. please which of these is the legit receipt. I was told that if the long white one is unavailable, they issue the short one but I don't know how true that is. The value of my package is just $13.

This charge is for 0.5kg and above.

That means I shouldn't be paying the 1500 right? Do you know how much the actual fee is or if it's free for packages less than 0.5kg . On the tracking page, it shows my package is 0.132kg. They say it's Express (EMS) and not registered mail. And because the tracking number starts with EH and that N1500 is the minimum clearance fee for anything that comes through there. Please how can I resolve this one

If they say it is in Ikotun PO, visit there to confirm.

You will definitely pay handling charges for that weight.

Please I was just contacted by my local post office to come and pick up my parcel. And they said I should come with N1500 for "Parcel Clearance Fee" and said I'll be given receipt. Abeg, is this a new legit thing by NIPOST or is my local PO just trying to scam me?

She said the 1500 is based on weight but My package is very small, less than .5kg asked on how the person always sends things to me. Also I didn't pay this for previous similar weight parcels. Pleasee help.

Praise God!!!!...

I just picked up my parcel from the local post office today.

The tracking shows it is still in Lagos IMPC Air but it has arrived Enugu since Tuesday and I picked it up today.

Guys always check your nearest post office as sometimes it gets delivered and doesn't change on the Tracking website.

Sent from UK - July 5

Arrived Lagos - July 14

Arrived Enugu- August 2

Picked up - August 4.

Without any calls from Nipost.

Were you asked to pay any parcel clearance fee?

Good evening house! Please i need your help. A friend sent me a used Asus laptop from the US through EMS and on the 16th day of September 2021 i got a call from a guy that works at the post office in ABA informing me that i should come and pick up my parcel and also that custom billed me #18,000, then few hours later that same day i got another call from the same Post office this time the caller said he's the manager for EMS then he went ahead to ask me if I had received a call earlier and i said yes and the he said what did the person tell me, i told him the first caller said that my parcel is in their post office that i should come and collect it and also that custom billed me #18,000. Then the EMS manager now told me to disregard the previous caller, that the #18,000 is their own courier company service money, that custom billed me #54,000 he then went further to say that when I come to the post office he will give me the phone to speak with custom agent from Lagos.

I smell foul Play. I haven't gone there yet because I have being terribly sick but i intend to go there this week and I need your advice on how best to go about this.

What and what should I look at for to make sure the said EMS manager is not trying to extort money from me??

What does a custom bill looks like?

Please i will be very grateful if you all can assist me in any little way you can??

I can barely afford to pay the #18,000 not to talk of an additional #54,000.

Thanks i look forward to your responses.

Quote aieromon and ask for their advice. He/she is the one who has some knowledge on shipping through Nipost and bear in mind, they have said they don't work there.

Your package has arrived at the Benin PO.

Please assist me. I ordered some items from UK and they were dispatched 8th of August. Small package, not work more than €15, skincare items, free shipping with 'no tracking' besides the international tracking number. It shows edi received when I enter the tracking number on NIPOST track and trace and it's been showing this for over a week now. Do I still wait for NIPOST to contact me and for how long or Please advise.

Hello aieromon, please help me out. does NIPOST or Nigerian customs charge duty or VAT on items shipped from the UK? Would this charge apply to cosmetic items worth less than £30/$30?

Custom duty no
Handling charges to NIPOST yes (₦100 to ₦500)
Why not use a 3rd party shipper?

HI aieromon. Please does this also apply to items shipped from the EU (Portugal)? I want to ship cosmetic items worth just $50 using Nipost. It weighs at most 2lbs. Will I need to pay any duties or additional fees?

Please Uberchic, whats the website for Carotein and pls can i get the number of the Nigerian distributor? Thanks a lot.
Hi dear, check the distributor page on their website. Please dont be decieved into buying counterfeit products and dont pay anyone for free info. Go online, visit skincare forums and get free info because believe me, that is what the so-called Greenfriend and others r doin. Except they come here, pose as experts n distribute fake products. *hiss*

Anyone with info on DH7 products should please share. There are quite a number of them n I'm trying to make the best choice on which one to buy. The Carrot Milk lotion (orange) or The Extra Complexion Milk (red) or the Carnation Harmonie lightening lotion (brown). Any info will be really appreciated. Thanks

Also pls where can I find Clear Quick Gel cream?
Fashion / Re: Product Reviews: Stop Wasting Money! Beauty Products That Actually Work by Uberchic1(f): 10:01pm On Oct 22, 2014
I got a FAKE Carotein serum from one of Greenfriend's sellers at yaba (Tony). Original Carotein serum is brown in colour. The serum this man sold to me is a clear and sticky liquid that draws a bit like soup. Of course I discovered this when I got home & opened the serum. I called the Tony n tried to tell him it is a fake product but he insisted it's original. Said he was supplied by Evergreen n that he (Evergreen) is the sole distributor of Carotein in Lagos. I tried the serum n broke out in 2 days.
Only for me to check the Carotein website and see the contact of the sole Nigerian distributor! I called him n he confirmed he's the sole distributor and said he doesn't know any Evergreen.
Imagine my surprise when I decided to check tthis old thread and see all this. So Mr/Mrs Evergreen, biko why r u distributing fake carotein serum?

Guys Pls find a RELIABLE source of Carotein serum OR use something else! Getting info from skin care talk and coming here to pose as an expert, probably charging unsuspecting pple for free info. Smh.

And also, have a good facial regime. Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize.

Two mistakes people with oily skin make:
Over exfoliating. Scrubbing your face too hard with your scrub can cause little nick's on your skin and this can trigger melanin synthesis. Even when the really tiny cuts heal, they leave black spots. Black skin produces melanin too easily. Also exfoliating too frequently isn't good. Don't exfoliate everyday. Twice or thrice week is ok. Don't over work your skin.

Second mistake is not moisturising because you have oily skin. So wrong! When you don't moisturize, your sebaceous glands produce excess oil to keep your skin soft and supple and you end up with more clogged pores. Use an oil free "non-comogenic" moisturizer. Check the cream description, it should be written there.

Steam your face 1ce a week for at 15mins.this will soften and open up ur pores. Cleanse and exfoliate immediately after steaming to get all the goo out.

And don't forget sunscreen or sunblock. It can be hard getting one that doesn't leave a white cast on your face.Just reduce the qquantity and spread it out evenly over your face. Stick to this. Make sure it's broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) and at least spf 30 for this our hot and sunny climate. And remember to apply every 2 hours.

And never go to bed without cleansing and moisturising at night.

Last piece of advice, when treating your skin, try and go without foundation! It covers the pores and doesn't let them breathe. And if you must use powder, use loose powder and apply with a brush. This spreads it out evenly and doesn't cover the pores as much as pancake would.

Also don't get a facial just anywhere or without them analysing your skin first. Some places use the same facial ingredients for dry skin and oily skin and it shouldn't be so. Different types of skin require different treatment. My friend got one 5 weeks before a wedding, she was the chief bridesmaid n broke out in fat, nasty pimples. 5 weeks after, she had dark skin and still had the pimples on her face and had to cover them up with make up for the wedding but they were still quite visible. She most likely reacted to something they used. She's using an ointment for the, Skineal. Benzoyl peroxide didn't work for her.

There is only so much the skin can take. You can't say you are treating malaria and you sleep without using a mosquito net or using insecticide in your room.
Be good to your skin.

That said, i'v been having hyperpigmentation issues since I went for service. I used a hydroquinone cream to treat but I never did any research then, and I did not use sunscreen along with the cream. These lightening creams make your skin more sensitive to the sun. When you use a lightening cream and you don't cover up with sunscreen, the cream oxidises with the sun and the adverse reaction is that your skin gets darker! The irony. The hyperpigmentation started to clear and then I got waaay darker.

I realized my face was getting darker as I was using my fair and white cream, then Palmers. All those hours marching under the sun and I didn't know I was further damaging my skin. I eventually did some research and realised my mistake.

Hydroquinone is supposedly safe in concentrations of 2% but prolonged use leads to darkening also. So after using it for a long while, I decided to stay away.

Hydroquinone works. Use it on the problem area and once the hyperpigmentation clears, stop using it. It's a treatment cream not just a moisturizer. If you use it for 4 months with no improvement, discontinue use. Some creams advice this (E.g fair n white).

There are safer lightening ingredients out there. Kojic acid is one. It's more stable than hydroquinone and there is no suspected carcinogenic effect. Lactic acid is another. It's from sour milk and it lightens with gradual use. It's an Alpha hydroxy Acid as you well know. There’s Glycolic acid of course, this helps with cell renewal. It dissolves the glue holding dead cells together so they can shed. These are some safer alternatives to hydroquinone. I use Meladerm for my pigment problems. It's slow but it's safe and it works. Some others have been mentioned in older pages.

I also have whiteheads. The good thing about whiteheads is that they aren't very visible unless I puff out my cheeks. I have them all over my face! But they get better if you watch what you eat. I use products with 2% salicylic which doesn't do much for my skin (oily skin) . I'l advice a cleanser specifically for acne and an astringent or a toner with witch hazel if you don't want your skin dried out. Also, use a toner with glycolic acid. E.g. Neutrogena's Pore Refining Toner, it has glycolic acid and witch hazel. Always check the ingredients of your products.

And most importantly watch what you eat. I used to have big pimples along with whiteheads years ago. I stay way from oily foods. I dnt eat fried meat and can't remember the last time I ate butter! I use canola or soy bean oil to make dodo. No matter what you use, if you still take oily foods, your skin will NOT get better. No be say na jazz.

Thank you so much @Uzoo. I was finally able to get the Meladerm cream. Along with Civant Skincare sunblock spf35 and AHA serum. It wasn't easy to buy cos getting it on Amazon wud be more expensive and I wanted it directly from Civant. Had to send money to a friend in the us who then bought it and sent to A2 Global Shipping.

If you need to send something from the US, try these guys. They use air freight, ship Fridays, packages can be picked up by Tuesday. Am saying this for others who might need this product. That is how I got mine. They charge $3/lbs and $6 for clearing and duties at 1lbs. You can check their website www.a2globalshipping.com.

I have started a regime with Meladerm. It's just a week now though. I was told to expect results after 4 weeks of usage. So I'm being patient and using lots of sunblock!

Hello everyone. I want to order some products from Civant Skincare in the USA n they are charging $25 for shipping to my address in Lagos which is ok by me as I am buying 3 items.

I have checked Customs website and body creams are not on the Prohibited list. But I just want to be sure I won't have any problems with Customs and their mago mago.
