Federal Lawmaker Gabriel Onyenwife accused of using financial inducement of N120k to each Ward Excos/ delegates and Obtaining Signatures to make delegates vote for him.

Youths Alliance for Credible Election YACE, a coalition of Youths in Oyi/Ayamelum, has published a report attacking Hon Gabriel Onyenwife an APGA aspirant for Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency for the “corruption of the APGA political process, now in full swing.”

The report, published on the various social media handles, alleges that “major payments are now being made to each of the APGA Ward chairmen in Oyi and Ayamelum and signatures obtained in a bid to declare Hon Gabriel Onyenwife a consensus candidate ahead of the party primaries. Fingered in the ongoing political harvest of corruption were, a serving Commissioner for transport in Anambra, and a chief judge from Ayamelum who allegedly were conscripted into the desperate act to save the drowning incumbent federal lawmaker Onyenwife having foreseen imminent rejection at the impending party primaries next week.

"Moreover,” the report claims, “the incumbent lawmaker Onyenwife, is bribing APGA delegates out of the syphoned constituency development funds, making most of the party delegates eager to do his bidding with the bribery funds."

A key stakeholder, who did not want to be named, dismissed the report as the handiwork of Onyenwife's enemies who, he said, hired YACE to launder his image and create an appearance of lack of support for Onyenwife in the party.

The report broke down the number of delegates for the 26 wards in Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency

"There are some three delegates for each ward, with each chairman and other excos/delegates being offered cash payments of up to one hundred and twenty thousand naira (N120,000) for his vote, the total bill runs into millions of naira."

The Group has called for outright disqualification of Hon Gabriel Onyenwife and consequently charged with electoral corruption. They have threatened to take the case up if nothing is done to stop the lawmaker.

The leadership of Legacy Party of Nigeria (LPN), has promised to provide enabling ground that will enhance implementation of restructuring when emerges victorious in the 2019 presidential election.

It attributed restructuring as one of the variable solutions to end ethnic and political agitations, which for the past years had crippled the economy of Nigeria.

This was stated during a meeting of the leadership of the party, at its state Secretariat, Awka.

The meting was heavily attended by representatives of every state in South East.

Addressing newsmen, the South East Coordinator of LPN, Pastor Anthony Okonkwo said the partu, founded by Alhaji Babangida (younger brother of the late Former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida) in 2017, had consolidated its structure in all the states in Nigeria.

Okonkwo stressed it was formed to inject indelible solutions to the problems of Nigeria and give a new economic dimension that would add values to Nigerian currency.

He urged Igbos to embrace the party as the only political platform that would ensure emancipation.

In his words, "Igbos have lost a lot. We need to rebuild our value system. LPN is the only party that has Igbos mandate."

The Abia state Coordinator, Chief Chikodili Frank Igbo recalled that over 4000 meaningful individuals across Nigeria defected to LPN certified of its lofty ideology.

The Parish Priest, St. Micheal and All Angels Anglican Church Ivite Aguleri, Rev Canon Emmanuel Onovo has called on religious leaders across the state to shun discrimination and embrace love across denomination.

Canon Onovo made the appeal while briefing newsmen after receiving his appointment letter as the Executive Assistant, (E. A) to Gov Obiano, at the government, Awka.

The Anglican Reverend stated the need to extend denominational love in propagating the word of God; the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The new Executive Assistant observed that the present administration under Gov Willie Obiano had bridge the gap and averted religious war among faithful of various denominations.

He commended Gov Obiano for attracted a new breathe of development in politics, touching every aspect of life.

According to him, "Anambra today is known for her robust socio economic activities. The state today, exports yam and various sets of vegetables. It's a new dawn that was never in existence.

"In education, Anambra is the best. There is proper developmental strategy that differentiate the state from others.

"In Anambra East and West, Gov Obiano has embarked on massive road construction. These areas of the state had been neglected by previous administrations, but today, development has crossed the communities to boost their agricultural activities." Rev said.

While expressing his gratitude for the appointment, the E. A promised to sustain the tempo of peace in the state and embark on interdenominational services across local governments to harmonize and strengthen the love among Christians.
