Tallesty1:So you follow see wetin I see @OP Hurting her is inevitable. Just do the needful, bearing in mind she might want to keep her distance for some time. You can't please everyone... it was her choice to love you, and yours to let her go. |
ceejay80s:Nna you mean o ![]() |
Virgo ![]() Sounds boring |
That your aunty get mind o ![]() |
Bimffo:Did they mention there is no return ticket? You'll have to live the rest of your life as martian. Ishilove, Lalasticlala, Obinoscopy... fp please. |
BuddhaPalm:Just because it's been nursed in the hearts of men doesn't mean it's okay to express it. But I suppose we could thank the Arts for giving us a way of living out our darkest (unconventional) desires. |
Why do the men look like women? Good luck to them. With the rapid depleting resources of Earth, we need to ship some people off to other habitable planets ![]() |
dat5starguy:It's a trilogy. Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. |
BuddhaPalm:The age of freedom. I think everything culminates in just that word: Freedom. |
Why is Nigeria cheap like this, only 500naira? ![]() |
Timbuktou:You're right. One of the reasons we read is because we can live out our dreams in them. People nurse some sexual fantasies and this book was a good way of living it out. Nice observation It would be punishment But I guess I could if they insisted. |

Lol Amen! ![]() |
Timbuktou:It IS sub-par literature. I tried to find something compelling about it and failed. But hey, sex sells Nah. My books are my babies; good or bad, they all stay. I have over-read, unread, and half-read books all over the place. But I also don't think I could give someone this book to read. |
Timbuktou:I got all three at once like I always do when a story's a trilogy or has multiple parts (hate reading and waiting). I'm a bookie and when a book get too much publicity, a girl's tempted to see what it's about. Well, it wasn't worth it imo. In the author's defence though, I also know that every writer has a targeted audience, and I definitely wasn't the intended audience for this one. Maybe people with 'dark' fantasies will find it pleasurable *shrug* |
I found the books deeply disturbing and couldn't even complete them. If what Christian Grey did to Ana is love, then I suggest men kept their emotions to themselves. It's weird the kind of things we glorify in this age. Lack of respect. SM (?). Bad behavior accompanied by excuses. Or the date a bad guy and try taming him hogwash. That's nonsense. And to imagine the books sold over a 100 million copies with a very unattractive plotline and bad storytelling. The world is crazy Anyway, I applaud the writer of this piece. Violence is not love. Irrespective of 'sexy' fantasies, no man should have to manipulate and disregard a woman like Mr Grey did, and no woman should have to listen to useless excuses like he gave, nor let him talk her into believing she's really in charge (But of course she enjoyed it up to the point he used an actual whip on her Already made up my mind not to see the movie. Can't imagine how disturbed I'll be if I have to put a face to the disturbing images from the books. P.S Women are strange creatures sha. They'll say no man should call them 'properties', yet get all tingly when a man treats an imaginary character as such. Dark fantasies everywhere ![]() |
Truckpusher:Chai Truckie, God is watching you o. Why are you wicked like this na? ![]() |
Oh please... She's flawless |
jaybee3:Amen ![]() |
tobiboss:No sign? She stopped Cami's car. How's that not magic? But I don't think those rules will apply to her. She's all those things by birth, not through magical influence like the others. |
tobiboss:Klaus was originally a witch through his mum, while his Wolf nature was suppressed. Then he became a vampire which removed the witch powers. Then he became a hybrid. Weird fellow, I know. Hope still has magic in her through the witch bloodline. Remember the witches' plans was to kill the child and then consecrate her body back to the earth as a New Orleans witch (ancestral things) which failed. Now she's a hybrid by birth too. See, it was her blood that turned Hayley remember? @Zellie. The baby healed herself. Cammie just thought in error that Elijah did. |
Now to my questions Nairalanders. (1) Where does Morality come from?Let's start with a definition: Morality 1. conformity to the rules of right conduct; moral or virtuous conduct. 2. moral quality or character. 3. virtue in sexual matters; chastity. 4. a doctrine or system of morals. 5. moral instruction; a moral lesson, precept, discourse, or utterance. So where does morality come from? Based on the definitions, taking note of the emboldened, I'd say one's inherent principles, the law and doctrinal teachings. It's impossible to eliminate one and consider morality the sole product of a deity. (2) What guides your thinking about how to act?Personally, it's a combination of everything listed in (1) above. I can't say Christianity hasn't played a part in forming my moral compass, nor can it be said that the laws of the land (constitution) has not been 'intricately' carved out from religion among other things or isn't a yardstick to measure how one must act. Likewise the concept of right and wrong changes over time. At one time killing one's enemy by one's own sword was considered okay; today, jungle justice isn't consoled. Before a man is persecuted, he has a right to fair hearing before a court . Basically today it is morally wrong to kill another man outside the confines of the law. (Something else to consider is the concept of free will). (3) Do you choose to act Morally mostly because of the promise of Reward or the threat of Punishment- from GOD or from some other Authority. Do you agree contrary to what some believe, living your life ethically is even more important if you are an Atheist, since if you do something Morally Reprehensible there is no God to forgive you, and the only value your life has is the Choices you make? Not sure. When something has been ingrained into your psyche, I strongly doubt your initial thought process before defending your values is what deity or aspect of the law you're about to contravene or uphold. When something is a part of your reality, it just is. If one must go through the motions everytime one has to make a decision, then such a person is still in the molding phase. And a person in a journey to self-identity can hardly be called morally upright (yet). We can try to be 'good' based on existing standards, or we can choose to be 'bad' based on same standards. One can only be called morally upright 'based on existing standards ' at a time, when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. My two kobo. |
joshuamoses101:Baby's got witch blood. Baby is a witch. Baby's magic will draw Dahlia to New Orleans. So far that's the only fun thing I watch in this episode. |
We celebrate the strangest things ![]() |
searching4love:*sniffs* Now you've hurt my feelings |
jaybee3:Attracting the wrong gini? This dude has probably been dating a crow in the past. With all the hate he's been spewing, I'm beginning to doubt this is the aftermath of a heart break. It's likely the aftermath of many years of rejection from human females ![]() |
Dude I know it's hard to "move on" but you have to get a grip of yourself and do that. I sympathize with you on this heartbreak journey of yours, but you need to stop grieving the women so they stop being rude. Take a time out. Drink beer. Watch a movie. Go self-service if you want sef. Just stop hopping around hoping to find magical healing while you call women devils. |
Bimffo:Ah thanks I don't think Kol is selfish btw. He may be slightly dysfunctional like the rest of his family lol, but he was watching out for himself too. He's acting out like any child starved of attention would. |
ellab:8th? That's a Sunday ![]() |
