Hmm I didn't know we had so many dictionaries on Nairaland o How do you define an independent woman, when no one is really 'independent'? ![]() |
pickabeau1:Lol what a reason! If na for curves maybe I'll contest next year ![]() |
ATMC:Lol yeah. Aunties and Uncles are supposed to checkmate the activities of the coordinators. Tough position to occupy. |
Reyginus:I try to project the long-term effect of alternative options before making a decision. When I say effects, I mean on myself (what I want and how a choice will help me achieve that) and on others closely related. If the interest of both aforementioned parties clash somewhat, I seek harmony. How much of what I want can be denied so we all get what we want? And how much of what they want can be altered so I'm not short-changed in the end? These are questions I ask myself all the time. Since harmony is what's most important to me, it's my standard for judging a worthwhile venture. Some would call that compromise or diplomacy...or whatever though. If we're discussing materiality, then practicality is the standard. I did tell you I'm pragmatic lol. If A can perform functions 1,2,3,4 and B despite looking good can do just 2 of 4, then I'll pick A. I want sustainable value for whatever I choose to engage resources (material, immaterial even emotional). This is when I ask your reason for these questions ![]() |
Reyginus:Honestly, I haven't paid conscious attention to these questions before. I do know I'm basically pragmatic; I don't do theory well, and things only make sense once they become practical. I like to create a mental picture; I can achieve that, the lesson is half learned already. As for observation, i just watch. That's all. And because by nature i search for patterns, my mind begins to connect the dots. Isolated incidents are isolated. Double occurrence gives me a reason to pause. The longer the degree of occurrence or repetition, the easier it is for me to draw conclusions. Most times though i can connect several isolated incidents and look for their commonality. Hope i didn't just babble lol coz i feel like it ![]() |
ATMC:I wasn't even in NCCF in camp. I was more like a "family friend" to the housemates in my place of deployment. So when they were going for rural rugged, I was told to come along. Also attended the State Conference and would have gone for National conference if the venue weren't Jos. Then they wanted me to be their 'aunty' or 'mama' lol. Na slap I wan slap the brother coordinator when he suggested that. Is it strange that I dislike being directly responsible for people, and yet still act in that capacity? It's like I just don't want to be given a title ![]() |
Ain't seeing nothing yet ![]() |
I don't trust any uniformed tout in this country, neither do I feel sorry for them when something goes wrong in their camp. |

@Reyginus Yeah I get what you mean. When I got my letter I actually fought to hold back my tears But I'm really good at adapting...very quickly actually and finding something to love about stuff. They were really nice people in that village; I'm still in touch with a number of people. I also heard the Agatu story and the state of living there was really bad. The youths were just misguided and frustrated from years of bad governance. Can you imagine they didn't even have electricity? I mean transformer/wiring....nothing at all, no public transportation, financial institution etc. That was poverty personified there. I actually had to give away 60% of my clothes. It's sad. But before I passed out, things were beginning to get better though. They really need Jesus, education and liberation from themselves in that place. I've never seen a people so averse to development before. Studied economics, don't know what you mean by "how do I learn" ![]() |
Reyginus:Lol Apa LG. Closest spot to Agatu (did you hear about Agatu's mosquitoes? ) Was on the verge of getting my redeployment letter signed when I decides I just might love the small village after all. So I stayed, but worked my PPA from an interior primary school to the local govt council. Then went on to offer tutoring services to schools around for free....on almost everything seriously---teaching, exams coaching, singing competitions, and all those development talks lol. Then I visited Agatu twice for rural rugged evangelism (zonal and stat), bathed little children, braided hairs, took children classes, sang in the state choir, caught a cold, got soaked in rain, experienced mosquitoes that could pierce through jungle boots, had my allergies kick in lol. It was wonderful!! I hope you enjoy serving ![]() |
Reyginus:Wow. I served in Benue (2011) Hope you enjoyed camp. Which LG were you posted to? |
Reyginus!! Are you in Wannune? ![]() |

What happened to photojournalism? ![]() |
Biko did laid off workers form an association? If you knew your employer was selling substandard goods and fronting them as the real thing, this moral and ethical codes y'all are claiming now is as false as you claim your ex boss is. You help defraud Nigerians, then turn around to crucify a man because you've been denied the opportunity to defraud more people. What a country! The truth is only important when you are no longer benefiting from a lie. On a lighter note, I'd really love to know how Mr Folorunsho came about his company's name. It's very catchy.....True Rebel hmmm |
Elxandre:Thank you! ![]() |
Elxandre:Ah thanks! I was considering either of them. Which would you suggest though and why? Nokialumia720 thanks ![]() |
Preboy:That would be a nice twist ![]() |
damilola5019:Your head dey there. Glad Julie is doing something worth her loyalty now. |
Biko I'm ready to buy a new Lumia. 830 looks good because the camera is quite impressive and it has expandable memory, but from the reviews people complained about bad screen resolution. Basically I want a good camera phone (I mean Pure View and/or Carl Zeiss optics...not so interested in selfies), expandable memory and at least 4.7" screen, 1gb ram...1.2gz quad core will be an added advantage). Any good suggestions with prices please? It'd be nice if you use said phones so you can give a personal review. Thanks |
Speakdatruth:You have my word. |
Truth24:You're such a nice guy, except for the part where you wanted to date abs break up. |
