It must be frustrating to stare at all that Gina and not be able to stick it in

It's general knowledge that the average Nigerian is a Jack of all trade.
Talk about sports, and we all become football analysts.
Fashion, and we are suddenly icons dictating who wore what right and who committed a crime of fashion.
Religion, and it becomes a battle of whose doctrine is the closest to what Christ teaches.
Medicine, and we're doctors without certificates overnight, diagnosing illnesses with our eyes and giving drug prescriptions .

Politics. Everyone(or almost everyone) agrees those at the helm of affairs of our nations are making a mess of things. All i see in here is people complaining and cussing everyday without giving a single solution to the problems at hand. Or has the country gotten to a state that there's no longer a cure?

Think ruling a country is piece of cake? Lets see how well you can handle it.

So, my question...
Since we have a good number of political analysts and judgmental people here who claim to know better, please be kind enough to share what you will do differently if you are Mr. President??

@Eben et al, what would you say about those who turn back people they feel dress inappropriately to church. I know there are some churches that turn away visitors because they are not dressed modestly. Is this right? Is it the best thing to do? I would love to know what you guys think.

i used to attend a church where the pastors wife actually offer to give people immodestly dressed a change of clothes from her wardrobe.
I won't say it's right to turn especially new comers away cos that might just be the day salvation might come to them. But they have to be cautioned in love, if anyone wants to go to the house of God, they must be ready to be modest in appearance so they don't offend other believers.

It's always a wonder to read a particular passage of the scripture and every time, you discover something new!

Here's what I've learned

Every Christian has been factory made with everything needed to succeed in life..yes EVERYTHING.
2peter 1:3 says,
"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his glory and excellence." ESV

from the above, we are made to understand that our heavenly father has endowed us all naturally with what we need pertaining to life and godliness...our physical and spiritual needs.
Why then do we still ask God for this and that when we need to ask how to tap into our bountiful store house?

But then again there's a clause
Vs 5 goes on to say,
"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self control, and selfcontrol with steadfastness, and this with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
8. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our lord Jesus Christ.

Here's my favourite part especially for new converts,
9. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

10. Therefore brothers be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities, you will never fall.

Hmm isn't our God wonderful?
It's only a man who doesn't know what he has that goes out begging.
God has given to us, built/installed the programme of success and overcoming difficulties. He has given the key to a rich life on earth both physically and spiritually...what's left is for us to find the lock and open it.

If you still think you are faraway from God and there's no hope for these for you..think again.
The scripture says for all who turns from his sins and comes to God, he becomes a new creature. Old things pass away and all things become new.

This is like upgrading from a Motorola to an iPad!

Your factory setting becomes completely transformed and every benefit that a child of God enjoys automatically becomes yours too.

Isn't that wonderful news?

But lets remember the most important conditions attached to that scripture, without them fulfilled, it'd be as impossible being fruitful as planting a seed in concrete.

May our Almighty father help us to heed his words today, let it take deep roots in our hearts, enlighten us always and help us to become better Christians in Jesus name Amen.
