TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by Ukahh: 11:15am On Apr 16, 2022
Hello Gurus in the house...pls I need your advise

I applied for a UK visitors visa in 2021 and got refused twice... During the time for my biometrics last year, I noticed that my agent included a marriage certificate ( which I didn't ask him to include). Now,I have gained admission to study in the UK and I want to apply for my ATAS certificate... They demand for my spouses information for the application.. My question now is ' SHOULD I MAINTAIN THAT I AM MARRIED AS THE AGENT HAS SAID IN MY APPLICATION LAST YEAR OR SHOULD I SAY I AM SINGLE'? would this pose any threat to my study visa application?... Pls I need your help guys.. Thank you

Yes that’s what I’m thinking too.. Do I have to do the PCR test in Lagos when I get to Accra since it’s cheaper there...
You need to do a covid test in Nigeria ( which can be any test) before you can board your flight to Ghana... Then Ghana will conduct another test in their airport on arrival for $50 before you can enter Ghana... Then You need to take another test in Ghana before you can now fly to your final destination.... You will be needing a total of 3 tests my brother.

Just 4 hours in Dubai. I guess I need to fly into Ghana the same day of my flight... or what do you think?
To be on a safe side...travel to Ghana like a day or two so as to know if Ghana have their own travel rules then you can take appropriate measures.... I hope you understand?

So the 14 days quarantine is not necessary because I’m transiting through Dubaihuh Low key scared of them returning me back...
All you need is a negative PCR covid test... Do well to check the travel requirements for your country of final destination.... I think this clears your worries.

Again it depends....if your transit time is less than a day...then you don't need 14 days quarantine.. But if it runs into days that means you need to enter Dubai, spend some days in UAE then exist to catch your connecting flight, this now makes it mandatory that you will need 14 days quarantine... I hope you understand me?

I don't thinking 14 days quarantine is needed... Let's analyse this together
1) You won't be going through the ports of entry at your transiting airport (Dubai).
2)Your flight from port of first departure will be bearing your final destination ( I.e if you are traveling to Maldives, you will be boarding a flight either from Cotonou or Ghana as the case may be going to Maldives even though it will transit in DXB for connecting flight).

LOL....Did you say 600k?... Only flight and covid test alone don swallow 500k...we never even talk of visa and accommodation... My brother just budget like 900k - 1m if you dont want to be stranded on the streets of UAE.

Currently flights to and from Nigeria and UAE are suspended... You can use alternative routes ( neighbouring countries )... You can use Ghana or Benin Republic (Cotonou).

And Again, If you're able to board by any means possible at any departure point, you will be stamp into Dubai easily, and nobody would deport you or check the stamp on your passport before you're allowed into Dubai. This is fact!!!
You are right my brother...Emiratis no get time to dey check stamp or even whether you be Nigerian or not at Dubai airport...All they look at is your exist stamp (if you are a residence) and they stamp you in...Too many dramas are just going on on thus thread...If you are able to board an flight from either Ghana of Cotonou and you land in DXB,nobody will send you back.

Dear NLders,

here is the original thread
https://www.nairaland.com/6563652/looking-younger-brother-dubai

I have been an ardent reader on this forum and I am very pleased with the quality of advice offered on this forum.

Please before I narrate my story let me clear up somethings:

First, I have to apologies for any grammatical errors, I am doing this while on transit and in a very stressed state, please pardon my mistakes.

Secondly, for those that would like to insult me and my brother before giving me advice, "no wahala' as long as you give me valuable suggestions I don't mind.

My younger brother travelled to Dubai about 2 years ago and during his stay his permit expired.

All effort to persuade him to come back home failed. Please before you judge I could understand. I am not making an excuse for him but if you are in his shoe maybe you would understand. Given our situation back home and the resource we pooled into sending him to Dubai may have acted as a catalyst for him not to want to come back just like that. He is very young and still in his early twenties so I can understand his fears and probably state of mind.

Since his paper expired he has been on the 'street". About three weeks ago we discussed about his coming home and start up a business which he bought into and we were making preparation on how to pay for his overstay and buy him a ticket when suddenly we couldn't reach him.

After about a week we managed to get in contact with a guy from my village and he told us my brother and his housemates were arrested when their apartment was raided by the authority.

The problem is that we have tried everything to persuade the contact to find a way for us to speak with him, at least to know why they are holding him. The contact told us to wait and that in Dubai you don't just go to the police to ask about someone ( I dont know how true this is) and that sooner or later the authorities will give him access to phone us.

My main worry is that I dont know what to tell my aged mother (our dad is late and my mom lives in the village all by herself), who has been asking me about my brother for the past weeks ( usually my brother calls my mom often). I don't have answers for her and I can see the sorrow in her eyes.

Please my people, I dont know what to do, it breaks my heart each time I speak with my mom and if anything happens to her I am finished. We are all she has.

I dont know how to go about locating where my brother is been held and what is being held for.

Please I will need your advice on how to locate him and to find out where and what he is being held for.

What I know is that we last heard from him about 3 weeks ago and he stay in Ajman
If your brother did not commit a murder offense, nothing will keep him in prison for more than 1 month and he will be repatriated to Nigeria... In UAE stealing can keep in you in prison for only 1 month and you will be repatriated and banned.
So,if your brother was caught and imprisoned for not having a valid stay ,he can't spend more than 2 weeks in prison and he will be repatriated and banned. Let's hope that you hear from him soon.

Please house can a tourist open a bank account in uae? Are there any limitations involved? Also how much will it cost?

Also can a tourist but sim cards?
You cannot own a bank account in UAE with a tourist visa...you have to be on a resident visa to do so.... You can go to any simcard vendor, buy your preferred sim which will be registered with your passport and your tourist visa... The number get blocked at the expiration of your 3 months visa.
