For one year of ones existence to be wasted,it means the individual wants it that way! Once you decide you don't want one year of your life to be wasted,it won't! Besides, the compulsory one year is a blessing in disguise! I'm not a fan of serving my country that has decided not to serve me for a year but the sooner we realize that the program is meant to help us, the better.
For 4 or 5 years, we're busy studying to make it out of school in one piece. How else would you prefer to prepare yourself for the harsh pre-graduation situations. The labour market...even being an entrepreneur requires you to have prepared yourself a certain way! The idea of going away for one year seemed crazy to me! I was posted to Niger state but I deferred. Right now, I've decided to go through with this.
I don't know of any other person, but I'll make the best use of my one year! I'll touch the lives of everyone I come across during my service. I'll open myself to business ideas and I'll come out of this a better,richer,successful young man!
