Understanding the Full Picture
​The World Bank's diagnostic report breaks the population down into three distinct economic tiers:
​33% are Ultra-Poor: This equates to roughly 75 to 80 million people who are severely food-insecure and cannot meet their basic daily caloric needs.
​61% Live Below the Poverty Line: This represents about 139 million Nigerians who struggle to afford basic non-food and food necessities.
​79% are Near-Poor or Vulnerable: This includes the 61% already in poverty, plus an additional 18% who live just above the line but are one minor emergency (like a medical bill or inflation spike) away from falling into poverty.
​In summary: Depending on whether you use the World Bank's baseline or the latest 2026 population projections, between 180 million and 191.5 million Nigerians are currently either living in poverty or are highly vulnerable to falling into it.

Majority of the comments shows it all. Just as described by Natasha; Nigerians are Gullible and Hungry. Natasha made the allegations nearly two months ago without providing evidence and you hailed her. This woman just come up with allegations of Natasha lying with evidence and you are here ranting that she's lying. Our leaders are not really the problem. They only capitalise on our gullibility to exploit the system in their favour.

Protest is the only way we can bring Change and reforms in Nigeria.When are we protesting against the almost #30 million collected monthly by senators.When are we protesting against a bi- cameral legislature with duplicating functions in the face of high level of unemployment and low revenue.When are we protesting against the high cost of governance.When are we protesting against the unconstitutional security votes embezzled by the Governors? I saw the same thing in my dreams last night.The senators were tagged as sleeping senators as the youths chanted and dragged them. Something is definitely going to happen if the government doesn't do something to tackle unemployment. It will hit us big and deep.
