11:30PM - Buhari's Message To The APC Delegates: "I don’t have dollars to give you but I will give my all to Nigeria"

My Dear Delegates,

As you gather for our convention, please remember that history, change and the hopes of Nigeria are there with you. They are there to ask you to perform according to your best judgment and patriotic conscience.

I also ask you to do the same. We seek a new Nigeria. It starts with us. It starts today. I have placed myself before you seeking your help to nominate me as your standard bearer for our progressive party, APC.

Personal ambition does not drive me in this regard. I seek to be the next president of our beloved nation because I believe I have something to offer Nigeria at this time of multiple crises. Insecurity, corruption, and economic collapse have brought the nation low. Time is past due that we work together to lift Nigeria up. I am ready to lead Nigeria to its rightful future. I have always served Nigeria to the best of my ability.

I have always tried to give more to the nation than it has given me. This is the principle of service that has guided my public life. Thus, I am not a rich person.

I can’t give you a pocket full of dollars or naira to purchase your support. Even if I could, I would not do so. The fate of this nation is not up for sale. What I will give you, and this nation is all of my strength, commitment, sweat and toil in the service of the people. What I can give you is my all.

I do not intend to rule Nigeria. I want to democratically govern it with your help. I seek a Nigeria where Christians and Muslims may practise their faiths in peace and security; a Nigeria that is just and where corruption no longer trespasses into our institutions and national behavior and a Nigeria where our diversity could be used for our national prosperity.

Nigeria is our home. Let us now turn it into the great nation we know it can and should be.

I thank you all
Muhammadu Buhari (RTD) GCFR

Rochas Okorocha, Muhammadu Buhari, Rabiu Kwankwaso,
Atiku Abubakar and Sam Nda- Isaiah
THE All Progressives Congress, APC, had to extract an undertaking from its aspirants ahead of today’s APC presidential congress at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

They have promised to remain APC members no matter who wins. Our quick sand politics has latitudes that accommodate tendencies, especially changing camps when we lose positions.

All the contenders came from different groups that pooled their angst with the way Nigeria was running to arrive at APC.

The differences tended to stand against the party, particularly when the issue was the presidential candidate. Former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Governor of Kano State, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha, and newspaper publisher, Sam Nda-Isaiah have spent months canvassing their qualifications for the APC top ticket.

They are all qualified as the party showed in accepting their aspirations.

Who would delegates choose? Would those not chosen accept the primaries which suffered postponements over matters like venue or more importantly how the delegates would be elected?

These matters were important to the aspirants, as anything could hurt their interests.

APC faced many battles to this point. The party's internal democracy, or its absence, as in all the parties, came to the fore again.

The aspirants' agreement to remain in APC was a great strategy to keep the party intact into the general elections in February. With the multiplicity of new interests, in an organisation in its formative stages, APC has more issues of fairness to aspirants to settle than its main opponent, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Two key issues that easily collapse into one – the North-South dichotomy and religion - are constants in APC’s troubles. The fusion of different parties that represented different interests has been trying for APC, in addition to avoiding the religious tag opponents hang on it. All the candidates seem to sing the same tunes in their manifesto.

They have progressive agenda for Nigerians, whose plight they blame on almost 16 years of PDP domination of governments across the country. These sound nice when there is a common enemy, another political party.

Whoever wins the primaries presents the next set of challenges for APC. The peculiarity of each aspirant is the challenge. The first task is the choice of the vice presidential candidate. Ordinarily, the appeal of the vice presidential candidate, his broad acceptance in the party, his attractiveness to voters, and willingness to work with the presidential candidate should be factors.

The politics of religion and zoning of offices have overtaken these considerations. APC would conclude its primaries as one, but the intrigues from its opaque practices, would continue to challenge it.

All around, My question Remains: As A Delegate Or Usual Political Citizen, Who Would You Vote?

PoliticsRe: BREAKING: PDP Adamawa Suspends Nuhu Ribadu, Holds Fresh Primaries by UltimatePals(op): 5:37pm On Dec 09, 2014
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has announced the immediate suspension of former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Principal Private Secretary to the President, Alhaji Hassan Tukur, for alleged anti-party activities. This was announced after a meeting of Stakeholders of Adamawa State PDP, who also condemned in strong terms the suspension of former National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, by PDP National Working Committee (NWC).

The stakeholders, who are leaders of the party, include Governor Bala James Ngilari, Chief Juta, Mr. Andrawus Sawa, Brig-General Buba Marwa (rtd), Senator Grace Bent, Alhaji Mohammed Modibbo, Hajiya Halima, Ngable, and Aliyu Kama, among others.

Rising from their meeting yesterday in Yola, the stakeholders declared the National Assembly party primaries conducted in Abuja as not only illegal but a sham since the real elected delegates did not participate in the primaries. They consequently set in motion a machinery to hold fresh primaries today in Yola.

The decision, they said, was as a result of the refusal of PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, to obey the directive of the Party Leader, President Goodluck Jonathan, to hold the primaries with the agreed list and in Yola. “The directive was clear but the chairman has little or no regards for the president, hence he flouted the directive,” one of the stakeholders alleged.

The stakeholders condemned in strong terms what they described as the orchestrated attempt by Alhaji Mu’azu to destroy the party in the state just to achieve a set agenda.

Accordingly, the stakeholders loyal to the leadership of the party in the state and Governor Bala James Ngilari insisted that that they would conduct a genuine and more acceptable National Assembly primary election using the authentic list adopted and approved at a meeting of all stakeholders in the state two weeks ago.

The fresh primary election is on-going at the Ribadu Square in Yola. Governor Ngilari flew back to Yola to take part in the exercise, which reportedly ahs court backing.

“We are the real PDP, not the thugs that were hired from Nyanya and paid,” said a stakeholder.

The stakeholders therefore challenged Mu’azu to tell public where he got the list he used in the conduct of the Abuja sham primaries from and to tell how the party arrived at such a list.

They specifically accused Mu’azu and Hassan Tukur of desperation to foist Ribadu on the party as governorship candidate. The stakeholders accused Muázu and Tukur of flying about five delegates from each of the local government area of Adamawa State to Abuja on Sunday to participate in the discredited National Assembly primaries.

The stakeholders resolved that they would not allow Mu’azu and Tukur to destroy the party they worked so hard to build and sustain in spite of challenges. They noted that from every indication, the powers in Abuja are determined to frustrate genuine, inclusive and participatory election as well as working against the election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015

PoliticsFINALLY! Reps Fix Date To Impeach President Jonathan by UltimatePals(op): 9:15pm On Nov 26, 2014
https://i2.wp.com/i.cdnnaij.com/m/cKCoufR5e2kopLY4m5OhssPd.jpg?resize=542%2C372
President Goodluck Jonathan
Honorable members at the House of Representatives have fixed next Wednesday to start impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan.

It was gathered by Vanguard on Tuesday that the members of the lower chamber are on the same page with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach Jonathan, and that the process will began immediately it reconvenes next Wednesday.

It was gathered that the assemblymen coordinating the impeachment process have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice.

A source within the House of Representatives, who made this known, said both chambers have resolved to work together for the common good of the country by impeaching President Jonathan for “incompetence, corruption and unprecedented impunity.”

The source further explained that the impeachment plot against Jonathan was not a partisan affair, noting that lawmakers from all the political parties have identified with the cause and will not give up until the President is sent packing.

“I’m sure you read the reports today that senators are going to move against Jonathan. Now you can confirm that the impeachment thing is not about APC. It is a non-partisan cause. We have all resolved that the man (President Jonathan) must go. Never in the history of Nigeria has a leader displayed such crass incompetence as we have seen in President Jonathan. It is glaring and you can feel it. Mr. President, with due respect, has shown that he is not capable of running this country. That is the basic truth,” he said.
The high ranking lawmaker reiterated that over 50 impeachable offences that have been identified against Jonathan, and assured that the House would work closely with the Senate to make sure that President Jonathan is removed from office.

It would be recalled that on Monday, November 24, some Senators on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly started move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan over what they termed the high level of impunity and corruption allegedly being condoned by the Jonathan-led administration.

Meanwhile, the plot to impeach the President spread to the Senate, with a growing number of Senators said to be enthusiastic to team up with the Reps to get the President removed after 130 Reps signed to support the plot to oust Jonathan on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
