Nobody Had Hatred For Fulani Herdsmen Until Some Of Them Started Killing Innocent People- CAN President Reverend Samson Ayokunle, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has said that the ''hatred'' the Fulani herdsmen suffer now from Nigerians began when some elements in their group became violent and started killing people. Ayokunle said this when he spoke at a press conference organised by the Christian body in Abuja on Thursday July 18th. According to Ayokunle, prior to this present times, herdsmen lived peacefully in members of other communities they took their cattle to graze in and even went as far as marrying in some of these communities. He noted that people began to see them in a different light when they started killing ''innocent'' people. The clergyman stated that the only way herdsmen can regain the trust Nigerians had for them is to call themselves to order and stop being violent and killing people. “If there was any enemy for any Fulani man, the Fulani man created the enemy for himself. They have been living peacefully for many years in our various communities, till the killing issues started. In those days, our children married them, they married our children, but when they became too violent and started carrying AK-47, killing people, what type of play is that? That’s a dangerous play. We can no longer think we are friends with that type of play. It’s too dangerous. So let them call their people to order and ensure that they remove the enmity they have created around an average Fulani person.” he said Source: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/nobody-had-hatred-for-fulani-herdsmen-untill-they-started-likking-innocent-people.html Read more today's update here: https://www.newsvib.com |

A man identified as Ralph Ohue has been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly breaking his son’s head over N500 theft allegation. Ohue was said to have used an iron to inflict injuries on the 14-year-old boy at their 9, Fatade Street, Isolo home on Wednesday night. Neighbours said they were shocked when they saw the boy running out of the house with blood all over his body. It was gathered that the man was enraged when he couldn’t five his N500 and he accused the boy of stealing it. A woman, who gave her name as Funke Ogunbiyi, said the incident occurred around 8pm, adding that another neighbour, who attempted to intervene, received punches from the angry dad. Ogunbiyi said: “I was hearing noise outside, so I went out to know what was happening. There was commotion in the house opposite ours. Suddenly, I just saw the boy running out. He was covered with blood. “I heard the father used an iron to hit the boy on his head. In the course of settling the issue, my neighbour received punches from the boy’s father. “After the fight, we saw some uniformed men, who came to pick the father. The boy’s mother was said to have come to take him away.” It was gathered that the Child Protection Network (CPN) learnt of the assault and reported same at Okota Police Station where the suspect was detained. An anti-human trafficking group, the Salvation Army, yesterday raised the alarm over an alleged assault of two Beninoise teenagers by a police inspector identified as Rosaline Olabisi, who was attached to Badagry Division. Olabisi, according to Adeola Oloke, who handled the case for the group, committed the alleged offence on May 28. He said the matter was reported at the Seme Border Police Post and moved to the Gender Office, Ikeja on May 29. “We have not heard anything since May 29 that the case was moved to Ikeja. The inspector claimed that the children were her daughters, but they publicly denied her. The children said they were from Benin Republic. “She was charged with abduction of the children, but we do not know what happened anymore. We are concerned and want to know where the children are. We want to know if they have been reunited with their families in Benin Republic.” Efforts to get police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), to comment on the issues were not successful last night. An Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Iwo-Road on Thursday ordered that a 37-year-old night guard, Wasiu Orilonise, be remanded in Agodi , Ibadan Prison custody after confessing, and telling the court that he raped his 15-year-old daughter in an attempt to protect her. The accused was arraigned on a one-count charge of having carnal knowledge of his daughter, with Charge No. Mi/271c/2019 The prosecutor, Mr. Sunday Ogunremi, told the court that the accused, in December 2018, at Omo Village, Agbofieti, Ibadan, in the Ibadan magisterial district, did rape one Orilonise Adenike without her consent. Ogunremi said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 34, Subsections 1 and 2 of the Child Rights Law of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2006. No plea was however taken during the arraignment. When the Chief Magistrate, Mr Taiwo Olaniran, sought to know from the accused what could have pushed him into defiling his biological daughter, Orilonise said that since he lost his wife a few years ago, he had been taken care of Adenike and others siblings. He further told the court that he committed the act in an attempt to protect his daughter. Orilonise said that the incident happened as he was trying to ascertain if Adenike had lost her virginity, adding that upon discovering that his daughter was still intact, he started having sex regularly with her both in the morning before she leaves for school and at night. The magistrate berated fathers who were fond of sexually abusing their daughters and other under-aged girls, saying they were only allowing the devil to use them to destroy the society. He thereafter ordered that the accused be remanded in Agodi Prison pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case till July 30, 2019. This is the dramatic moment a woman runs on stage and throws a priest off stage in the middle of a public sermon. Viral footage shows the woman, who had been listening from the audience, suddenly launch herself at the priest who goes flying off the stage. It is believed she had run onto the stage after the priest told worshippers that ‘fat women don’t go to heaven’, reported Diario 1. Local reports have identified the priest as Marcelo Rossi – a well-known religious figure in the country – who is said to have been left uninjured. Although the priest is not heard making the statement during the short clip, some reports say he allegedly made the comment prior to the woman’s attack. Around 50,000 worshippers are seen standing up from their seats in shock as the priest dramatically tumbles down the stage stairs onto the floor. However, some reports have suggested the priest did not make the controversial comment at all and the woman was suffering with mental health issues. The incident took place during a religious event in the area of Cachoeira Paulista, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The church said on Twitter that Rossi continued with the sermon as the woman was arrested, reported ABC Noticias. A statement read: ‘The father has suffered an attack during mass. We pray for him. ‘Fortunately, the Rev Father has not suffered considerable injuries and was able to continue with the mass.’ Source: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/woman-pushed-priest-off-stage-during-mass-video-photos.html Watch video here: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/woman-pushed-priest-off-stage-during-mass-video-photos.html

The Senate on Wednesday expressed worry over the increasing incidences of rape of women and defilement of minors in parts of the country. Senators resolved that application of death penalty to offenders would go a long way to serve as a deterrent to the menace. Apart from death penalty for rape offenders, the lawmakers also underscored the necessity to review relevant laws as well as open registers for rape offenders in parts of the country. The resolution followed the adoption of a motion on increasing cases of rape, sponsored by Senator Rose Oko. The Cross River North Senator, asked the Senate to take the lead by reviewing existing laws to discourage the trend. Oko called attention to several alleged rape cases, including the one allegedly by the Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo. The worrisome trend of rape cases, she said, has become a national problem that should worry the Senate. Senator George Thompson Sekibo, in his contribution noted that prescribing death penalty for offenders, would not only serve as deterrent but would also ensure that justice is served. Sekibo encouraged parents to report rape cases as soon as they occur to enable relevant security agencies take the appropriate steps to apprehend the culprits. He said: “When an abuse of such a situation takes place, let the parents report the issue to the police or you come to the Senate. “I leant that when a rape case takes place, the private part should not be washed. They should go to the hospital and take the sample. “To abuse a child of six months, is evil. No religion will take it. We should make it a death penalty. By the time you kill two people, people would have leant and they will stop it.” Senator Dino Melaye agreed that drastic measures should be taken against rapists. The Kogi West Senator noted that if stiffer penalty is prescribed, people will stop the act. Melaye said: “This issue is not only satanic, it is also wicked. This is one of the satanic manifestations in the country. If we don’t propose stiffer punishment, people will continue to get away with it. “When you report a case to the police, they treat it as if it is ordinary. Lecturers carry out sex for marks. I want to encourage the sponsor of this motion to go ahead and come up with amendments to deal with this barbaric act. “There are now cases of male adults defiling small boys. These things must be cured and the Senate must take the lead in ensuring that this doesn’t continue in this country.” Senator Oluremi Tinubu in her contribution also backed the death penalty proposal. The Lagos Central lawmaker who was alarmed about increasing rate of the defilement of minors urged parents to take steps to educate their children on sexual awareness. She said, “The issue is very controversial and scary. As a mother, if our children were the ones violated, we know what would have happened. If we look at the society at large, we have not done anything. “Children are the most vulnerable group. Whoever is involved in acts like this, should face death. I think rape of a minor deserves a death sentence. This is what we need to do to stop this madness. “Most of these acts are done by people close to these minors. This is time we stepped in as a Senate and protect this country “Parents too should be given the orientation too on now to raise their children. Poverty is a major cause of this and we need to educate the parents to reduce this.” Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi also urged relevant agencies to establish a sex register for offenders. The Niger North Senator said that opening a register for sex offenders would go a long way to discourage the act. He said: “When these offences are committed, what happens? The lack of stiffer punishment is a major issue we must look at. From examples cited, we must make progress. It is time for us to look at our laws and put sex or rape offenders on a register anywhere in the country. “The psychological effects can’t be understood. Some adults behaving in certain manners are victims of these acts when they were minors.” Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, prayed the Senate to look at sentencing guidelines. Omo-Agege said, “The challenges articulated are very apt. We have enough laws to deal with the issues. The area we should look at is sentencing guidelines. There should be a minimum sentencing timeline, it will help. “We need to look at the status regulating the prerogative of mercy. We have governors and state chief judges setting free prisoners. I believe we should focus on these areas. We should have the sex offenders register.” The lawmakers generally agreed that urgent steps should be taken to save the country from rapists. They also agreed that when constituted, the Senate committee on Judiciary, Police and others related, will push for the implementation of extant laws on rape of women and defilement of minors. The relevant Senate committees, when constituted, were asked to review relevant legislations on rape. The Senate further urged the Police to deal decisively with all cases of sexual abuse as a way to stem the tide. The upper chamber was also worried that only 26, out of 36 states of the federation have so far domesticated the Child Rights Act.......Continue reading: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/rape-nigeria-senate-seeks-death-penalty-for-rapists.html

Two people have been confirmed dead and over 30 vehicles burnt following the early morning fire that engulfed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline at Ijegun, a Lagos suburb. Suspected pipeline vandals were said to have ignited the fire at about 5am on Thursday at Fire Junction, Ijegun, in a bid to prevent security operatives from pursuing them. According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the vandals had siphoned Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) into a 33,000 litre capacity tanker and were loading a second one when security operatives intercepted them. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LASEMA Femi Oke-Osanyetolu, said the vandals spilled some of the PMS which entered drainages while fleeing and allegedly lit a fire that followed the spilled content backward He said: “While trying to escape from the security agencies, some of the siphoned fuel spilled into the drainage and the vandals were alleged to have set the spilled fuel on fire in a bid to deter the security agencies from apprehending them. “The fire then spread back to the pipeline, the point where the vandals had siphoned the fuel and exploded with escalating fire which led to two fatalities and over 30 vehicles burnt. “The actual loss will be determined upon conducting post disaster enumeration after the fire has been put out. Responders at the scene include Lagos State Fire Service, Police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).” Source: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/just-in-2-die-over-30-vehicles-burnt-in-lagos-pipeline-explosion-this-morning.html More updates: www.newsvib.com

A French company claims to have invented a pill that can make your farts smell nice. Yep, we all know someone who could use that, right? By the way, if you're sat there thinking "actually, I don't know anyone" - it's you, mate. Anyway, the pills have been developed by an inventor called Christian Poincheval, who is based in the western French town of Gesvres and - he claims - that they can transform your smelly gas into the lovely fragrance of chocolate or roses. Yes, this anal alchemist actually thinks he can make your shit smell like roses. In fact, he's been at it since 2007, according to the official website of the company, called Lutin Malin (that's Cunning Imp, en Anglais). They claim that the pill is entirely natural, there's nothing medicine or drug based therein. Just a "dietary supplement based on natural ingredients" that will make your guff smell good. Huge, if true. The website claims: "The Fart Pill is the result of lengthy research and trials and is on sale since 2007. Our fragrant variants also add a touch of humour for any occasion. "Our numerous returning customers are no doubt the best proof." There are even some interesting variations, too. Ever wanted your flatulence to smell of ginger? Yep, you can. There are even some interesting seasonal choices, too. Christmas chocolate or May Day lily, anyone? It's not just for humans, either. The website also claims to have some powders that you can use on your dog. Now that is a claim to make. Dog farts are the bane of every owner's existence. However, according to Lutin Malin, you can just sprinkle this powder onto their food and their ordinarily rank output will be replaced by the delightful smell of spring flowers. A few years back, Mr Poincheval told The Telegraph that his invention was borne out of necessity after a particularly smelly dinner party. He explained: "Our farts were so smelly we were nearly suffocated. Something had to be done," Off he went. He experimented with ingredients and combinations an eventually settled on a recipe. Now,.......continue reading: https://www.newsvib.com/2019/07/company-sells-pills-that-make-farts-smell-like-flower-and-chocolate.html
