Suspended Governor Abiodun’s Aide, Abidemi Rufai In Hot Soup As US Submits 97,000-Page Evidence Against Him Over Alleged $350,000 Fraud

The United States government has submitted 97,000-page evidence against the suspended aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, Abidemi Rufai, who was indicted for alleged conspiracy, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Rufai who is regarded as one of the 'big boys' residing in the Lekki area of Lagos, was arrested on May 14 at the JFK airport in New York following his indictment in a $350,000 COVID-19 unemployment fraud in the United States.

According to the 97,000-page materials submitted to the U.S. District for the Western District of Washington at Tacoma, on July 26, Rufai allegedly used the stolen identities of more than 100 Washington residents to file fraudulent claims with the Employment Security Department (ESD) for pandemic-related unemployment benefits.

Acting US Attorney Tessa M. Gorman had said Rufai filed fraudulent unemployment claims with Hawaii, Wyoming, Massachusetts, Montana, New York, and Pennsylvania, using variations of a single email address in a manner intended to evade automatic detection by fraud systems.

The agreed application, filed on August 3, 2021, apparently based its assessment of the complexity of the case on the volume and nature of the evidence filed by the prosecution.

Dr Joe Abaj has taken to his social media account and reacted after an individual used his Twitter handle to obtain money by pretence. The barrister dropped his statement on his recent tweet via his Twitter account.

Sharing the post, Dr Joe stated that he saw a list trending online which contain his Twitter handle about one Alex Saab. He claimed that he is not in contact with the person or anybody related to him.

Dr Joe also revealed that he is not an influencer, and to his best of his knowledge, he has not tweeted anything relating to Alex Saab.

"Buhari who is in England, where Prince Philip died, has not issued a statement," Reno Omokri says

Reno Omokri has gained more social media attention lately after he staged a protest demanding that President Buhari should return to Nigeria. Just a moment ago, Reno took to his Twitter account and revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in England where Prince Philip died, is yet to drop a statement.
Reno stated that other world leaders have shared their condolences apart from President Buhari. He said that the president action proves that where you are doesn't change who you are. Reno added that people should join him and harass Buhari out for London to do his duty.
He wrote:
"World leaders have shared their condolences with the @RoyalFamily, but General @MBuhari, who is himself in England, where Prince Philip died, has not issued a statement, proving that where you does not change who you are. Join me at #HarassBuhariOutofLondon to do his duty."
