What will you do with the prize money: My mom is everything to me. I will build a house for her and my daughter. I also want to invest in real estate.
Why will you be a fan favourite: I’m not there to play, they will see that I’m serious, I’m a single mom pursuing her dream. I want to be an inspiration to a lot of people.

Diane
Diane Yashim describes herself as an easy going girl whose favourite outfit is a shirt, trousers and sneakers. The model and aspiring cook is also a graduate of the University of Debrecen in Hungary. Studying and living there was an eye-opening experience she’ll forever be grateful for. One of the highlights of her life is being chosen as a Big Brother Naija Season Four Housemate and she says that nothing would make her quit the game. She adds that she likes to try new things and wants to see the whole experience through.
What irritates you most about other people: Liars and loud talkers.
What will you do with the prize money: Travel as well as try to get into the entertainment industry as an actor or television presenter. I will also go back to school.

Victoria “Ella” Nnabuchi is no stranger to the limelight. She was a runner up in a popular music talent search show and she’s a television presenter, voice-over artist, actress and model. She also enjoys dancing, singing, reading, writing, travelling and poetry. The industry preaches that one should fake it until they make it. Not Ella, she says it’s better to “faith it, until you make It.”
What irritates you most about other people: Liars and deceitful people.
What will you do with the prize money: I haven’t thought about it yet.
Why will you be a fan favourite: Because I’m very interesting and unique.

Esther
Esther Olaoluwa Agunbiade is proud of her beauty and brains. The 22-year-old Lagos based lawyer was called to the bar at just twenty-one years old. She’s also very athletic and loves to show off her figure. Her favourite outfit? A white off the shoulder, bodycon, short dress. “Who says a girl can’t embrace all aspects of who she is?” she questions.
What irritates you most about other people: People with bad bathroom and toilet hygiene or habits.

Frodd
Chemeka Frodd Okoye is a soft-spoken Investment Adviser and Sales Executive from Anambra State. The 28-year-old believes family is everything and that’s why he lists paying for his mother’s surgery bill as one of the proudest moments of his life. He says nothing can make him quit Big Brother and even if he had a million dollars, he would still participate in the game because “the experience can never be bought.”

Ekpata Gedoni is a fashion entrepreneur who likes to keep it simple with a dash of sophistication. The 31-year-old Cross Riverian enjoys basketball, soccer, taking walks and cleaning the house! His other talents include writing poetry and drawing portraits with pencil.
What irritates you most about other people: The inability to take correction as well as physical and mental laziness.
What will you do with the prize money: Sort out family debts, put up a proper fashion house and random acts of kindness.

Ike
26-yer-old Steve Ikechukwu Onyema, is originally from Imo State, but bides his time between Houston, Texas and Maryland, Lagos. He’s loud and colourful and loves to entertain because “you only live once”. When he lost his business in 2013, Ike had to move in with his girlfriend. Luckily, things are looking up for him now. In his downtime, you will find Ike eating steak and vegging out on the couch watching his favourite movie ‘No Country For Old Men’. Not even a family loss would make him quit the game. And if he was rich, he would still do it for the experience.

Lagos police have on Friday save a suspected kidnapper from taking sniper and mixed cement.

It was reported that angry resident of Otto in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos apprehended the suspected kidnapper with a five-year-old girl but could not explain how he came about her during interrogation.

The angry residents added that they brought sniper and mixed for him to take as a means of punishment.

According to the local security guard in the area identified as Agbodemu Ishola, added that if not for the quick intervention of the police, the resident would have forced the suspected kidnapper to drink the sniper and cement.

“some of the residents nabbed a young man who was with a five-year-old girl. He was a strange face in the community as nobody could say he or she knew him. When we interrogated him, he was not giving convincing responses.

The Nigeria police have on Saturday 29/6/2019 at about 8: am arrested one Makoduchukwu Ndubisi who stays at NO. 6 Donking street, Anambra state.

20 years Old Makoduchwu allegedly had a fight with her husband, one John Bosko Ngu, 35 and stab her on his chest with a sharp knife.

The victim was rushed to Borromeo hospital Onitsha for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The CEO of Sapphire Group and a member of COZA church, Wale Jana, has taken to social media to withdraw his statement and also apologised for bashing singer Timi Dakolo and wife, Busola Dakolo, for her explosive interview in which she accused COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her.

@timidakolo and @busoladakolo are not saints, she was a choir member and Timi was a choir leader in church when she got pregnant with her first baby, Timi denied that they weren't having an affair and then she got pregnant the second time and that was when the church forced them to get married. This chorister was sleeping with her choir master and was a baby mama with two kids before they got married. These are morally bankrupt people and all that talk in the video will not hold water under cross examination.

Nigeria Gay rights activist, popularly known as Bisi Alimi has criticized Bobrisky for standing with Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo regardless of being accused of raping Busola Dakolo, the wife of singer Timi Dakolo.

A man who disguised himself as a woman to secure a job as a barmaid has found himself in the grips of the law after his female colleagues got suspicious of his mannerisms and reported to the District police.

22-year-old John Mark Bukenya, who has for, three years, been disguising himself as a woman to secure jobs was arrested at Muhorro Rest-house in Muhorro Town Council where he was employed as a barmaid.

His female colleagues got suspicious of his demeanor. Then, he was subsequently reported to the owner of the rest house, Charles Mugisa Busigiriko, who alerted the Kagai District police.

“When I interrogated him, he confessed to being a man. I was shocked because he always wore skirts and dresses, necklaces and shoes for ladies,” Busigiriko said.

The Kagadi District Police Commander, Romeo Onek Ojara, also spoke about the arrest.

“We are holding him. He confessed being a man biologically much as he prefers being called and treated as a woman,” he said.

Reports indicated that Bukenya, during interrogation, confessed to detectives that prior to his arrest in the Kagadi District where he had been impersonating women for a year, he had done same in another district for two years.

Bukenya claimed it was easier to get jobs as a woman - something he had mastered overtime. “When we received him, he was wearing a skirt and a blouse. We asked him whether he needed a trouser and a shirt to dress as a man but said he is comfortable dressing as a woman,” Ojara added. He also said that "as [sic] that much as he stays with women most of his time, he doesn’t get attracted to them.”

A 22-year-old man, Eniola Kareem, was arraigned by the Police before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court o Wednesday for allegedly stealing a Bible and phone worth N2,500 from Word Life Bible Church, Ayobo, Lagos Newsvib uderstands.

Kareem, who resides at No. 22, Ijesha St., Ayobo in Lagos, is charged with theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Samuel Mishozumu, told the court that Kareem committed the offence on May 19.

Mishozumu said the defendant unlawfully entered the church at Amule Ayobo in Lagos and stole a Bible and a Nokia phone valued at N2,500, property of one Ms Fatima Adeyibo.

He told the court that Kareem was caught by members of the church who handed him over to the police.

Mishozumu said the offence contravened provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

However, after the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate O.D. Njoku admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned until July 16, for further hearing.

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has deported 17 Nigerians for alleged involvement in cyber crimes Newsvib understands.

It was gathered that 29 persons were arrested for cybercrime, known as ‘yahoo yahoo’ in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

According to The Ghanaian Times, the Nigerians were handed over to the GIS for screening, following their arrest to determine their immigration status.

The Ho Municipal Police Commander, DSP Anthony Danso, who briefed the Times on Tuesday, said it emerged that the deported persons did not have good immigration standing.

Those who were found to be legal residents of Ho were released and reunited with their various communities.

Danso noted that some landlords leased houses to some Nigerians, who in turn used them for various nefarious activities, including cyber fraud.

During the raid, the police retrieved 33 laptop computers, two television sets, one wireless router and 20 cell phones as well as some electronic gadgets.

EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Monday, June 24, 2019, arraigned one Owolo Onorouioghene Dan, a mobile application developer, before Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. .

He was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on stealing and money laundering to the tune of N186, 552, 909.

The complainant, Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State, alleged that the defendant, who was a seconded staff of the Vice Chancellor of the University, was engaged on October 12, 2016 to create an e-payment platform, which he tagged Sanwo Payment Platform.

However, the defendant, who was also operating and managing the platform, allegedly diverted from the payment platform, a sum of N186, 552,909 to various bank accounts domiciled in Zenith Bank Plc and Ecobank Plc between December 2017 and February 2019.

One of the counts reads: "That you, Owolo Onorouioghene Dan, between 10th of July, 2018 and 18th of February, 2019, retained the aggregate sum of N122m in your Zenith Bank account number 2213999627, which sum forms part of your unlawful act to wit: stealing.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him. The defendant was subsequently ordered to be remanded in prison custody pending his bail hearing.

FG to inaugurate SEC board Monday

The Federal Government will on Monday inaugurate the board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to be chaired by Mr Olufemi Lijadu.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the board’s constitution is coming four years after President Muhammadu Buhari sacked the former SEC board headed by Mr Peter Obi.

A senior management source who pleaded anonymity confirmed the constitution and inauguration to NAN in Lagos.

The source said that the inauguration would take place at the Ministry of Finance Headquarters, Abuja, and would be conducted by the permanent secretary.

The source said that Lijadu, who hails from from Ogun, had been announced as the commission’s chairman.

According to him, other members of rhe board include Mr Lamido Yuguda from Gombe State (Non-executive Commissioner), Mrs Rekiya Ladi (Kaduna) Non-executive Commissioner and Mr Okokon Ekanem, representing Ministry of Finance.

The others include Dr Alvan Ikoku, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria, Ms Mary Uduk, SEC’s Acting Director-General, and Mr Henry Rowlands, SEC’s Acting Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services.

The other members of the board from SEC are Mr Isyaku Tilde, Acting Executive Commissioner (Operations), and Mr Reginald Karawusa, SEC’s Acting Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement).

The board will have a four-year tenure, according to the source.

NAN reports that President Muhammadu Buhari dissolved the previous board on July 16, 2015, and set up an eight-man panel headed by a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, two months later, to reconstitute it.

Market operators had been calling for the reconstitution of the board to strengthen SEC’s operations.

The Chief Operating Officer, InvestData, Mr Ambrose Omordion, told the News Agency of Nigeria that non-reconstitution of the board for over three years had implications for operational efficiency of the apex capital market regulator.

Anyanna Williams, nail artist from Houston, Texas has been crowned the world’s longest fingernails and in total they measure more than 18feet long.

Anyanna nails, each of which is just under two foot long, have earned her a place in the Guinness World Records 2018 Edition. Having spent most of her adult life growing her nails, more than 23 years, she was first inspired by a friend and plans to continue growing them.

She has also revealed that the most challenging thing about having extremely long fingernails, which can take up to one week to paint, is pulling up her trousers. Three men, who allegedly stole five phones valued at N360,000 from students during their exams, on Friday appeared in a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The police charged Azeez Adeniji; 32, Nwaeze Nwulu; 31, and Emmanuel Daniel; 22 with two counts of conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on June 13, at the Faculty of sciences, University of Lagos, Yaba.

He told the court that the defendants, who were not students of the university, had gone into an examination hall and stole five phones.


He said that the complainants; Miss Grace Odutola, Miss Ayoola Malik, Miss Racheal Jacob, Miss Hannah Taiwo and Miss Aina Akinola, only noticed that their phones were missing after their exams were over.

Unuigbe alleged that the defendants stole two Samsung phones, an IPhone 6s and two Tecno Camon phones; all valued at N360,000.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 411, and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015 (Revised).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 411 stipulates two years imprisonment for the offence of conspiracy while 287 stipulates three years for stealing.

After the charge was read to them, they pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Peter Ojo admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Ojo ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

A Jesuit high school in Indiana can no longer call itself "Catholic" because it employs a teacher engaged in a same-sex marriage, the Archbishop of Indianapolis says.

Archbishop Charles Thompson's decree, dated June 21, means that Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis will no longer be recognized or identified as a Catholic institution within the archdiocese.

"To effectively bear witness to Christ, whether they teach religion or not, all ministers in their professional and private lives must convey and be supportive of Catholic Church teaching," the Archdiocese of Indiana said in a statement on Thursday.

The Archdiocese said they tried but failed to reach an agreement with the Jesuit school.

The conflict pits the Jesuits, an order of priests known for educating generations of Catholics, against the church's powerful hierarchy. It's also the latest battle between Catholic schools who want to employ gay and lesbian teachers against bishops who insist that all employees toe the line on Catholic doctrine.

What makes this conflict unusual is that Jesuits and their schools enjoy a degree of independence from the church hierarchy. In contrast to other Catholic schools forced to fire gay teachers, the Jesuits rejected Thompson's request to remove the teacher.

"It is rare for a Catholic institution not only to side with its LGBT faculty members, but also do so in the face of such fierce opposition from a bishop," said the Rev. James Martin, a Jesuit priest and author of "Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity."

"In this case, it is also rare that a bishop would go so far as to publicly remove the designation 'Catholic' from the school," continued Martin, who is based in New York and not affiliated with the school.

Christabel Omore Buoro Owoicho, a 300-level student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) who was found dead in her room, was raped before she committed suicide, her friend and uncle have said.

Earlier report had said she committed suicide because of a strained relationship with her boyfriend.

She was said to have locked herself indoors after her roommate had left the hostel, increased the volume of her music player, left a note and committed the act.

Her roommate, identified simply as Folakemi, as well as a man who identified himself as the deceased’s uncle, Ben Bamiyi, said Christabel was an introvert.

“She had never had a boyfriend in her entire life. Christabel was exceptionally brilliant,” Bamiyi said.

Sources said the late Christabel was a virgin before her encounter with the rapist.

THE Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has warned corps members against presenting fake documents during registration in camps.

He said corps members caught presenting fake documents would be handed over to law enforcement agents for prosecution.

Ibrahim gave the warning while monitoring the registration of prospective corps members deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa State for this year’s Batch “B” Stream I service year.

A statement by NYSC’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, said the DG warned that the management of the scheme had measures in place to clamp down on perpetrators and prosecute them.

Ibrahim advised corps members to be security conscious and embrace the skills acquisition programme of the scheme to become self-empowered and wealth creators.

Buhari minister’s son, Dayo Adewole regains freedom

Adedayo Adewole, the son of former Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has regained his freedom.

Tribune reports that a family source confirmed the development Wednesday evening.

Dayo was kidnapped on Tuesday at about 6m from his farm at Iroko community in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force earlier Wednesday said that no fewer than three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction.

The three persons that were arrested included the driver that the victim employed few days ago, Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye; the farm manager, Mr. Sodiq Adebayo and another worker in the farm.

Adebayo while narrating the incident, said the kidnappers were four in number and their hooded leader wore military camouflage, while three others did not cover their faces, but only put on black clothes.

Fight in Ojota over NURTW chief’s death

There was pandemonium in Ojota following the death of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ojota Motor Park Chairman, Eniola Afeez.

Afeez, popularly called Stainless, died in hospital following his illness.

The news of his death led to a crisis in the park.

He urged residents to shun rumours on the social media that the whole Ojota is in turmoil, adding that the fracas occurred in the garage.

According to the police image maker, the faction of the late Afeez accused other faction of killing him with Juju (charm).

Elkana said: “There was a clash between factions of NURTW but the situation has been brought under control by our officers. One of their leaders died in a hospital and there was an allegation by the deceased faction that the other faction used Juju to kill their leader. They came to attack the other party. We quickly deploy our men there and normalcy has returned to the place.”

He said the command is discussing with the union leaders on how to resolve their dispute without leading to mayhem.

A 300-level student of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Miss Christabel Omoremime Buoro, has committed suicide after a break up with her boyfriend of many years.

Christabel, aged 21, was discovered on Tuesday evening at her hostel flat at Plot 4 Uwaifo lane, Newton Street, Ekosodin area in Ovia North East local government area.

Witnesses said the body of Christabell was discovered after she allegedly took some deadly substance to end her life.

An empty sachet of Klin detergent was found at the spot where she took her life.

According to the source, “A small girl of that age will take her life all because of one boy. The policemen that came to evacuate the body were very angry after reading out loud the note she dropped.

“Thank God that she even dropped a note, if not the roommates would have been in hot soup, because investigation would have started from that point.”

Two persons were said to have been invited by the police for questioning over contents of the letter.

In the suicide note, she reportedly stated that she took her life because the guy she loved didn’t love her in return.

The institution spokesman, Mr. Michael Osasuyi, said the incident did not happen within the school premises.

Osasuyi said a team has been dispatched to investigate the incident and report back.

36-years-old Man Jailed For Six Months For Stealing Kolanut

A 36-year-old man, Ige Omotosho, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Iyin Ekiti for stealing a bag of kolanut.

Omotosho was convicted on two counts of forcible entry into a farmland and stealing a bag of kolanut worth N10,000.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adefumike Anoma, on Friday, sentenced Omotosho, who had earlier pleaded guilty, to four and six months in prison on counts one and two, respectively, without an option of fine.

The prison terms are to run concurrently.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Olubu Apata, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on June 7 around 5pm at the Ologbara-Gbara Farm in Iyin Ekiti.

Apata said the convict went to the farm of one Obadore Ogunjemilua and stole a bag of kolanut worth N10,000.

He added that the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The charges read in part, “That you, Ige Omotosho, on June 7, 2019, around 5pm at the Ologbara-Gbara Farm, Iyin Ekiti in the Irepodun/Ifelodun Magisterial District did forcibly enter the farmland of Chief Obadore Ogunjemilua, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 81 of the Criminal Code, Cap C16, Volume 1, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.”

Congratulations to all successful prospective Corp members that were mobilised and deployed to various state for one year National Youth Service.

I know that majority are happy about the posting while few are sad because they were posted to cities they didn’t expect.

One thing I want you to know is that state deployment is not the main posting but local government and Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) posting are what determined if you will enjoy the one year or not.

Take for instance, if you were deployed to Ogun state and finally posting to Abeokuta south after the 21 days in camp, shows that you are going to serve at the state capital where you will be faced with basic amenities that will aid you to stay.

So don’t over rejoice because you were posted to Lagos, Abuja, Akwa Ibom etc because those state also has a local government that you might not find funny. All you have to do now is to pray so that the final posting will favour you.

After the 21days in camp, all prospective Corp members would be attached to a firm, Ministries or School to serve for one year. Your PPA would also be in charge of issuing of clearance letter to you within the one year.

Today we are going to talk about the benefit of serving with the State or Federal ministry and why you should pray for NYSC to post to one.

Working at the state ministry has its own advantage and disadvantage but it all boils to what you want in life and also set goals you wish to achieve within the one year of national youth service.

I always advise all crop members to utilise the one year and achieve a lot. 365 days is too big to waste without positive impacts.

Serving at the ministry gives you more times to yourself without much stress. It’s not a new thing that Corpers posted to ministry has little or nothing to do rather than being idol till the dismissal hour.

Instead of wasting your precious time sitting in one office and end up doing nothing, you can use such an opportunity to apply to other firms where you would be paid for job well-done.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reversed the April 3, 2019, judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which sacked Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as the candidate of PDP for Delta North Senatorial seat.

Justice Mohammed Idris, in the lead judgment, held that the suit by actress Regina Daniels’ husband, Ned Nwoko, was statute barred and that Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja ought not to have heard the case and gave the judgment he gave in favor of Nwoko.

The three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, in a unanimous judgment on Thursday, held that the Federal High Court had no jurisdiction to have heard the case filed by Ned Nwoko.

Justice Mohammed, had, in the April 3, 209 judgment, sacked Nwaoboshi as the PDP candidate for the last election in Delta North Senatorial district and among others, ordered INEC to accept Nwoko as the party’s candidate.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have reportedly arrested the immediate past governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha.

According to a report by DailyTrust, EFCC operatives allegedly stormed Ogboko in Imo state today Thursday May 30th and arrested Okorocha. The report also claims that Okorocha's wife, Nkechi, was also arrested.

Others also arrested include Gerald Okorocha, Okey Okorocha. The antigraft agency also reportedly sealed off his Eastern Palm University in Ogboko.

The EFCC has however not confirmed or denied this report.

Barely 24 hours after assumption of office, Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha has commenced the demolition of monuments built by the immediate past governor, Rochas Okorocha as his first action as governor.

Ihedioha was sworn-in as the sixth Executive governor of the state on Wednesday.

The Akachi tower, one of the many tourist attractions built by the former governor is being demolished as at the time of filing this report.

It was built on a reclaimed dumpsite that was abandoned by previous administrations.

The demolition exercise was supervised by soldiers who barred journalists from covering the exercise.

The Akachi monument was one of the structures commissioned by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo barely one week ago.

The monument, a massive tower with the symbol of a hand on the Zenith, representing the hand of God, sits on an expansive plot of land, reserved for religious purposes.

There are fears that the new governor will also demolish other monuments in Owerri, the state capital, especially the famous statues.
