Music/Radio / "Naira Marley's Soapy Is Just Immorality At The Peak, It Is Needless" by Umartins1(m): 5:26pm On Oct 08, 2019

During the last episode of its weekly show, Snitram Media invited two students of the University of Lagos to talk on Naira Marley; his lifestyle, music and impact on the teeming youth.

When asked about the Soapy dance, Kris, a final year student of Economics department, University of Lagos, claimed the dance is just unnecessary as it depicts immorality. Particular about the style of dance which involves twisting the hand in a seductive way, Kris called it "Immorality at the peak".

However, for the other guest, Innocent, also of the University of Lagos, he claimed the dance is harmless and is normal in order to flow with vibes.

Another interesting question asked was if Naira Marley was having either positive or negative impact on the youth. Both students claimed it depends on perception and how one receives the message in his songs.

It is also notable that, both guests agreed that Marley's arrest by the EFCC operatives was a blessing on his career as little was known about him hitherto, compared with now that every single of his is a hit back to back.

What do you think about Naira Marley's personality? Let's have your view.

Education / UNILAG Lecturer Asks Student To Dance Soapy by Umartins1(m): 10:45pm On Sep 26, 2019

It was an enthralling moment when a lecturer of the faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, asked the class what the trending dance is. The students, unanimously, chorused SOAPY.

The lecturer then asked one of the students to come up to the podium and dance SOAPY. Watch the moments.

With quite a handful of very talented artistes, mostly Africans, being unable to win the coveted Grammy despite their rave, wave and clout in the international scene, we have come to ask, is the Grammy overrated and western biased?

Most artistes of African descent had lost the award to their far mediocre white counterparts in the past. Akon, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj... have all lost out on Grammy while less famous, less talented but white artistes have claimed it.

Are you of the opinion that the Grammy is skin-biased, or, perhaps, is the award worth its hype?

Cardi will fo far in this rap game for sure..

She has come far to disprove all odds.

Many thought she will go the ways of lil Kim,Iggy azalea and so on who couldn't make it to A- list rappers in the music industry.
But she keeps soaring and getting higher and higher.

The ball s on her court to surpass nicki Minaj who I think is the greatest female rapper of all time

Wow. Aptly put

Nicki Minaj has announced her retirement and this leaves us with the question, who will be the next queen of rap? We, at Snitram Media favour Cardi B to take the throne since numerous achievements of hers including a Grammy make her a clear favourite.

We invited two students of the University of Lagos to a talk show at the University's Lagoon Front and both aired their views, agreeing anonymously that Cardi is the right heir to the throne.

However, Cardi must be warned. The wild and talented rapper Young MA, dubbed as the Lil Wayne of female rap, has got some aces up her sleeves, she is coming red hot. Bar her, Cardi has no close competitor.

What do you think? In your opinion, who is the next Queen of rap?

Music/Radio / Four Nigerian Musicians Who Rose To Stardom After Scandals by Umartins1(m): 8:23pm On Sep 09, 2019

Most celebrities have their career dead once combated with scandals but four of Nigerian musicians have been able to rise through scandals, using them as platforms to limelight. Here, we detailed those four Nigerian artistes whose career rose on the back of scandals.

Burna Boy

Burna was reported to have stabbed someone to death sometimes in the UK. He was reported to have been tried as a minor and subsequently jailed. However, in a twist of fate, eleven months after, he was released on parole in recognition of being well-behaved.

Burna returned to Nigeria shortly after the scandal and was signed to Aristokrat records where the journey to stardom began.

It should however be noted that, Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy) denied the allegation.

Chidinma Ekile

The cucumber scandal of Chidinma is still fresh in the memories of most Nigerians. She was alleged to have been caught in a romantic homosexual affair with her best friend, Ada.

However, the scandal was a blessing in disguise as Chidinma's international fame shot up. The popular adult website, Xvideos made moves to invite her as an actress and that made her name known in the international scene.

Skiibi

Skiibi pulled the unimaginable of stunts when he faked his death. For many, it was a desperation taken too far. However, it is undeniable that, most of his songs before the stunt were unknown. In recent years, Skiibi had dropped back to back jamz, from Sensima ft. Reekado Banks to that's how starz do which is currently making waves across the continent.

In a recent interview with OAP Dotun, Skiibi claimed he faked his death because people didn't see beauty in his talent

Naira Marley

Arrested by the EFCC for financial crimes and other related offences, little was known about Afeez Fashola prior to his arrest. His breakthrough came while in EFCC detention. It was reported on Nairaland on August 15 that his music video am I a Yahoo boy ft. Zlatan had hit one million views. That was a massive improvement from the paltry one hundred thousand views before his arrest.

Naira Marley has gone on to release more Jamz and his recent single Soapy is currently the DJ's choice in every party.

Detailed explanation of each artiste scandal is properly detailed in the video below

Celebrities / Nigerian Celebrities Reactions To The Xenophobic Attack by Umartins1(m): 3:14pm On Sep 05, 2019

This is a compilation of all Nigerian celebrities reactions to the recent Xenophobic attack. Which of the reactions do you rate as the best and which do you rate as the worst?

Wizkid
@wizkidayo

Disheartening to watch these videos from my home! You’re fighting the wrong war, fighting the wrong people. How do we walk around hating each other? Africa is one! We’re all the same people! Pls don’t lose yourself! #SayNoToXenophobia One Love

Pls educate yourselves, educate the kids , educate the youth! We’re all humans before anything else! “Humans” !! And most importantly “Africans”!

I’ve seen so many insensitive and dum*b stu*pid comments from You celebrities and I’m so disappointed! This is not a time to fight or point fingers!! Let love lead. Use your head! u fcking dumb fcks! People are dying foreal! Watch what you say!

Y’all want to go around preaching hate and fighting each other when the real problem is not even on social media! You clout chasing di*ck heads! #SayNoToXenophobicAttacks ! Fight the real problem! Government! Poverty! Education

and if you don’t have anything sensible to say at this sensitive time pls just promote your music and Bleep off. Nobody ask una papa for opinions !

Burna Boy
@burnaboy

Ok. I have been away from social media personally until today. Ordinarily at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my Dream has always been to Unite AFRICA and make us realise that Together we will Literally rule the world...

But Today After watching the Killing of my people in South Africa the same way we have all watched it happen a few times in the past. FU*CK ALL THAT! I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that.....

I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fu*ck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.

This goes against everything I stand 4, but at what point do we take action? I understand that years of Oppression has confused South Africans to the point where they see the pple who came to their defence during their Oppression as their Enemies and then worship their oppressors

And @MI_Abaga it’s F*uck @akaworldwide from now on. And if you down with him, it’s F*uck you too. I respect you too much, please Don’t throw my respect out the window cuz I swear you will fly out with it.

Lemme also say that there are some South Africans who are Amazing, Progressive AFRICAN people and I will forever Love them like I Love myself. But they are not many at all.

And to my Brothers and sisters I am not encouraging any Violence or anything but please PLEASE Protect and Defend yourselves at all times, it may not seem like it but there’s always a way. Management will now take back control of Burna Boy’s Social media. God bless AFRICA

PERUZZI
@Peruzzi_VIBES

Just to make it clear. I personally didn’t lose anyone to this stupidity. BUT I don’t give a Bleep, my brothers are dying for nothing! I too move at anyone who gives silly excuses!

Tiwa Savage
@TiwaSavage

I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this.

Davido
@iam_Davido

If our country good ? Wetin we go find go southy

Yung denzL
@MI_Abaga

I pray for healing.. our continent has been hurt so much and we are acting out from pain!!! Say NO to Xenophobia!!!

Also.. I can speak honestly in saying my bro @akaworldwide loves Nigeria.. taken out of context his tweets can be misinterpreted.. however he loves and respects Naija!!!

I have been insulted and threatened so much.. And though a part of me wanted to turn to anger.. I know that it was a test for me to lead with love.. We have to see past our hurt into our hearts.. and fight hatred with love

To everyone I offended yesterday I apologise.. It is always the right time for healing.. I hope we can begin to listen to each other and discuss real lasting solutions. I know I will..
Last.. I pray that we will all have someone that will speak the truth on our behalf in spite of the repercussions. If I did so in error God will judge... But courage is being able to say no when everyone else says yes.. no matter the personal cost..

Asa
@Asa_official

It’s a shame what’s happening in South Africa. We say #NoToXenophobia @CyrilRamaphosa @MBuhari Let this STOP NOW!!!

Isn’t it a pity, isn’t a shame how we break each other’s hearts, and how we take each other’s love without thinking anymore. Forgetting to give back, forgetting to REMEMBER!! We are not the enemy. #SayNoToXenophobia #SayNoToXenophobicAttacks

Banky Wellington
@BankyW

The #Xenophobia attacks by some South Africans against Nigerians and other foreign Nationals are completely heartbreaking. Sad to see people that suffered through decades of apartheid, violence and hatred, now turning around to do the same/worse to others.

The people that South Africans look up to should PLEASE speak up and denounce #Xenophobia. The Government, business people, athletes, artists, media personalities, and even the average citizens have a responsibility to stand up for justice the way the world stood up for SA

This is not the SA that Mandela fought and sacrificed for. This is not the SA that a lot of us have come to know and love. I just watched a video of a man burnt alive in front of a crowd. It's sick, and heartbreaking. "Hell must be empty because all the demons are here".

Africa's problem is AFRICANS. Some in Government, some in the general population.. but Africa's problem is Africans. I keep pushing for the day that the rest of us will rise to become our solution. May God help us. And may we realize that Heaven helps those who help themselves.
