Imanuelle: Na the same thing in a way.
The NYSC scheme hasn't been in more heat than it was in Jonathan's administration, but it stood still.
As long as there is a continuous removal of subsidy, the extra cash must/will be injected into the economy somehow.
Buhari won't be too self-minded to ruin Jonathan's structures. GIS of SURE-P and NYSC are never dsame in any way. NYSC has been there b4 Jonathan came into power, compared to GIS of SURE-P he introduced. if oil gets finished, it marks d end of SURE-P programmes in general. oil or no oil, NYSC will continue. |

Imanuelle: Why all the panic?
NYSC hasn't been scrapped, why would SURE-P be scrapped? SURE-P and NYSC no b dsame nah. Except if the programme is extended, it will end this year. SURE-P is financed with the subsidy removed from fuel. But NYSC remains the one year service u render to your country after graduation. |

Twaci: This election has gotten everyone's nerves all tuned up, so lemme lighten the atmosphere with these crazy things girls do to get a guy's attention.
Here we go:
1. Sucking in of tummy. Girls, how many of you will say u have not done this? Even subconsciously? You are walking down the street with your friends and you see this very cute guy with his peeps and all of a sudden, u push your tummy in and push ur chest out.....and catwalk. Don't lie, we all do it.
2. Asking for stupid favours on a regular basis. "Um, can u help me with your pen?" You have about three pens in your purse and might not even need it in the class, but just to get his attention, out of all your friends around u, you tap him gently and in the sweetest voice possible ask for his pen. Not just pen. You ask for salt, help with the light bulb, his book.....even broom sef!
3. Going against his opinions in a open conversation. Even I am guilty of this . In an open conversation in class or group hangout, he says something and u immediately go against it vehemently. You wan form say you get your own opinions....in other words, independent and we all know guys love Independent women, don't we?
4. Hateful attitude. He sits beside u and u frown your face. You pass him and his friends and say hi to them all except him. You create the illusion that u don't like him...while u wither all up inside when u hear his voice. (NLand girls do this a lot )
5. Phonetics. U immediately switch to phonetics whenever he is around. U talk through your nose, forming oral english teacher just to create the impression that u are classy. Most times, it all turns up fake and funny as it would seem u are talking through your nose. "Puh-lease car-n yuh jas be ya-self?".
6. Bumping into him. Classic move, never goes wrong. You see this cute yummy-looking guy walking your way, u 'accidentally' bump into him and fall. "Oh! Am sorry dear. Are u okay?". In the sweetest voice and brightest smile, "Yeah, thanks....". According to movies, that always leave a lasting impression. Guys does it?
That's all I have dearies. Lets hear yours when such girls come across innocent guys like me, the following reactions are how overcome their temptation: 1. sucking in of tommy: here, to avoid the mind processing what the eye pictures, we rather look unto God by reading our bible, when those girls cat walk and retract their pot belly. 2. Asking for stupid favour on regular basis: when u ask us for favour more than twice, we will begin to see u as a wave (disturbance). we rather change our position or perhaps, leave vicinity completely. 3. Going against his opinion in an open conversation is actually out of the game. most ladies do not know this that u will create a wrong impression in the guy, instead of your targeted reason for doing that. when u do that to us, we will avoid u. we don't like being opposed. 4. when u behave like u hate us, we go reciprocate am with our attitude towards u. Newton 3rd law of motion states that "to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". 5. change phonetics because of us, we go use ehn... frustrate u. 6. when u bump into us, we either dodge u or jump u pass. |

heryyy: The same thing happened to me at first my first interview date was cancel due to there network and they re schedule me for another 3weeks, which was about a month ago.... almost identical question as the OP, here is my own version
Embassy: What are you going to do in the US
Me: I'm going for a 2 weeks holiday in Manhattan, New York
Embassy: Do you have any relatives in the US ?
Me: NO
Embassy: Where will you stay during your visit ?
Me: I have booked a 2 weeks confirmed / fully paid accommodation at so so hotel in Manhattan
Embassy: What do you do in Nigeria
Me: I work for so so Logistics Company as Senior Administrative Officer
Embassy: How much do you earn
Me: I earn 230k Per Month
Embassy: Are you married ?
Me: Yes i am married with 2 beautiful kids
Embassy: Scroll through my passports (I have 2 passports attached together one expired and the new passport was issued in London) and asked which countries i have been to
Me: I have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and the UK (UK was a 4yrs student visa)
Embassy: I see you didn't make use of your Cambodia Visa, What happened ?
Me: I was going with a friend, we couldn't book the same flight so he went before me, i was to meet him 2 days after, he got there and 2nd day he was robbed, he called me to inform me its not safe so i cancel my ticket and didn't bother to visit the country.
Embassy: How long have you been working for your company
Me: 2yrs
Then she typed and typed then print out the almighty refusal letter and said i can reapply if i want
Now i think i understand why she refused me reading from experience people here
I think my answer was too straight forward and i applied alone leaving my wife and kids behind
Also at the time my bank statement balance was around 3Million Naira which ofcus she didnt bother to ask, meanwhile i have other business that fetch me money which i should have mentioned when she asked how much i earn
Do anyone believe i stand a chance if i reapply and correct the error i highlighted ?
Thanks. yes u do. your previous travelling history shows u av a tie to your country. just make sure that when next u reapply, u av a strong reason for travelling. not for visiting this tym or for tourism. tell them u r probably going for your m.sc, I can assure u they will give u d visa. |

Royals1: thank you everyone for ur contributions. Howeva d issue is every one wit his or her opinion. If am specific, pple will giv it as excuse for refusal, if am xplanatory, pple will say i talk too much as xcuse for my refusal. So its lies in God hand. As for d guy dt says i lie on invitation, if u will like to see it i will show it to u, only if u request sha, just like d VO did not ask for it. Every document of my cousin is with me but she neva asked about dem. Anoda thing dt i see again is travelling xperience which i dont have, it might be d reason for my refusal. But whocheva way, if u are fortunate thank God, if u are not struggle continue, its not a do or die, i ave my job here dt i can still survive with. I can reapply again someothe time. its not really about the travelling experience, I went to the embassy with a virgin passport that has UK's denial on it. but the vo saw it and never asked me anything about it. I av never travelled but I was given d visa. sometimes, its God's grace, I don't want to call it luck. |
Travel › Re: My Experience At US Embassy In Lagos Today by unamama(m): 7:25pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Royals1: I thought it is when they ask of any documents (like invitation letter) that I will present it, but she neva ask of any document yet. First thing is just d questions, infact most applicants did not present doc, just d questions before any documents. Howeva now I don't know where ny fault is. in most cases, they look at your face to know if u r desperate about travelling out or not. once they sense any atom of u being despirate, they will deny u d visa. u must appear very calm to them. then, telling them u r going to visit your cousin remains unnecessary to them, whether with or without letter of invitation... when I went for an interview with them, I behaved like I was forced to come for the interview. they saw on my face that I wasn't desperate and I need not convince them about avin d visa. reason is cos, someone shattered my morale that morning by telling me that I stand no chance of getting d visa, since its my first attempt. He gave me himself as an example that it was his 3rd attempt. but it actually helped me to appear to the vo as if I no longer need d visa, and d interview lasted for just 2mins. then d vo asked me to come back after 2 working days to get my passport. funny enough, d vo never asked me for any document or evidence or statement of account or whatever u can call it. it was a pure oral conversation for 2mins. |

lovely write up. I av heard so much about how beautiful interviews are with the american embassy in abuja and how difficult it is with d Lagos centre. I actually had mine in Lagos and the experience was quite different from yours. interview in Lagos centre is like trying ur luck under probability. I wish to paste my experience here but its gonna take so much space. I will do that in future sha, since I av compiled it in ms word format. The good news is that it went well and I was given the visa. That was my first and last attempt and my passport is a virgin passport. don't mind the ppl with the believe that VOs do not issue visas to ppl on their 1st attempt. I was told that and I never listened to them cos, I felt I am different. 1ce successful, they will ask u to come back in 3working days to get your passport, so as to enable them put their visa in it. congrats op for the visa. |
