Business / Re: Nigerian Bank Disobeying My Late Father's Directive. PLEASE HELP!!! by UnbiasedAnalyst: 7:31pm On Sep 01, 2020
I will strongly advise you sue the bank. They are playing with your intelligence. Don't even think of coming for the LOA because it won't take your lawyer anything less than 2 months to get it. Also the cost of getting it can be as hight as 2m. Get a good lawyer and see them (you'll get your money, the bank will also compensate you, and the bank will refund the money used in pursuing the case)
All the best to your family

MachineLearning:

Apply for data analyst position

Learn Tableau (just 2weeks)
Learn SQL (Just 2 months especially with the skills you already gave now, you will master SQL in less than 2 months)

After learning these, start applying for data analyst positions, leave machine learning and deep learning first, relax... Then when you het your foot in the industry, you start upping your skills and applying for core data science jobs

If you follow this instructions, there is no way wot won't get a data analyst role with what you have already learnt now... I must commend your effort, I am inspired, respect...

Thanks for the kind word bro. I'll stick to your advice

nwele2017:

my brother let tell you a little screet .
Most Nigeria employers don't know the difference between data analyst and data scientist. most data analyst jobs in Nigeria are actually data science job. Nigerians have not really understood the difference between this two terms. I will advice you to start applying for data analyst job , but you need to add advance Excel,SQL , tabulea or powebi and some understand of metrics and KPI of domain of interest to your arsenal.

Thanks for the kind word bro. I've also learnt Tableau and I once used it to create an interactive dashboard to visualized the spread of Covid19 sometimes last month. I'm currently learning SQL and I've getting along pretty well. I'll start applying for data analyst position as advised. Thanks you very much

Greetings,
I've been learning data science using python since February last year and I'm very comfortable using python (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, sklearn and numpy) for data science related stuff. As a matter of fact, I've completed two online internships and two online courses and I've been apply for jobs online but haven't gotten any invitation for interview expect those from fraudsters. I've completed 4 ML projects where I used svm, decisiontree, randomforest and logistic regression with a very high accuracy

Please I'm wondering if anyone could advice where I can apply to in other to secure a job either as an intern or junior data scientist.

I graduated from a State University 2018 from department of Statistics. I started learning DS right from my final year.

Short Answer: 175k. I took a lesser-paying job afterwards so as to have more time for the new family.
After 2 kids. I proceeded to earning more qualifications and I moved up in the ladder.
Now a 7-figure salary earner.
You can take the bold step but not with the wrong person. You can alwz survive on a reasonable budget when you’re with the right partner.

I bless you for this

Programming / Re: I Want To Learn Data Visualization by UnbiasedAnalyst: 1:25pm On Apr 05, 2020
Hey! Hope you're enjoying the moment

As touching data visualization, I'll strongly advised you stick to the ones you feel comfortable using most instead of you wanting to learn all. I'm a data scientist and I do lots of visualization and I'll recommend ggpot2 in R, matplotlab in Python Tableau and Power IB are great for visualization. If you can learn the above believe me you will happen you did because those are the most commonly used visualization tools used by companies

Education / Lets Discuss Statistics - The Hidden Beauty Of Statistics by UnbiasedAnalyst: 9:08am On Jan 10, 2020
Compliment of the season to y'all once again. 2020 isn't just a new year but also the beginning of another decade; to God be praised for making you and I to see this day

First and foremost let me start with a brief introduction; I'm Kingsley, a graduate of Statistics Department from a wonderful State own University whose pedigree is second to none. I've worked with lots of private firms in various capacity ranging from instructor to statistical analyst and I'm currently taking an online course on "data science using R" - R is a statistical programming language I will admonish every statisticians to learn - with the aimed at increasing my statistical skill.

The core aim of this thread is to "teach" statistics using simple and practical examples to the end that its hidden beauty would be made manifest even to a layman (none statistician)

I'll be "teaching" extnsively on the following topics in Statistics

* Introduction to statistics
* Random variables
* Concept of probability and probability distributions (binomial, poisson and normal distributions)
* Statistical Inference a.k.a statistical decision theory
* Regression Analysis and correlation analysis
* T- test and Analysis of variance (Anova)
* Chi-sqaure (test for independence)
* None parametric test
* Time series
* Statistical Analysis (we'll work on a project and do the statistical analysis together)

Rules of engagement

* Your name/username, occupation, State of residence (e.g I'm UnbiasedAnalyst, a data analyst and I'm residence in Lagos Alimosho to be precise)

* No insult/abusive language (carefully select your choice of words and do well to edit your comment when necessary.)

* All questions should be withing the aforementioned topics because those topics where carefully selected to meet the aim of this thread and I wont to digress in other not to defeat the said aim. However, you can contact me privately for any questions related to Statistics, Research work and Statistical Analysis)

* Observations are welcome and would be looked into critically.

* Invite your friends, family and if you have enemy please go for reconciliation because we're to follow peace with all man (without which no man can see God)
