Five Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastors were abducted along Ijebu-Ode axis on Thursday August 1, while on their way to the church's Ministers' Conference.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, RCCG's General Overseer made the abduction announcement at the Redeemed Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday August 2. He noted that this is the first time such incident will be happening and also called for prayers for the abducted Pastors to regain their freedom.

“As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?” he asked.

A Florida man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for knowingly spreading HIV.

27-year-old Rasheem Ikey Bodiford was convicted of having sex with another person without notifying them that he had HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS. Prosecutors say Bodiford had sex with two women from September 2016 to October 2017 and lied about his condition.

Back in April, a penalty procedure hearing was held to decide if Bodiford was a danger to the public, and a jury found that he was. “He had HIV, he knew he had HIV and he had sexual intercourse with partners without letting them know his status. The crime is the fact he had it, he knew he had it, and he knew he had to inform his partner and he failed to do so” Monica Daniels, assistant state attorney in Escambia County said.

Daniels says Bodiford became aware of his HIV-positive status in 2015 and engaged in sexual intercourse with the three victims between Sept. 2016 and October 2017. One of the victims told police she acquired HIV after having sex with Bodiford. She said she saw Bodiford with HIV drugs but he told her that he was selling them for his uncle.

The second woman said she had been dating Bodiford since June 2017 and he never notified her of his HIV-positive status. The third woman started dating him in Oct. 2017. She found out about his HIV status after she saw it on the news.

Victor Ajidagba, a 400 Level student of the Department of Nursing, University of Ibadan, was on Wednesday confirmed dead after slumping while walking through the department of Physiology around 5:30 pm.

Although he was said to have been rushed to the Institution’s clinic, Jaja, by two other students who saw him fell, he was confirmed dead later in the evening, despite being placed on emergency by medical personnel on duty.

According to sources privy to the incident, the medical officers on duty fought hard to save his life by administering first aid treatment, but had to refer him to the University College Hospital (UCH), Oritamefa, Ibadan, when they discovered the severity of the case.

He was said to have been conveyed in the university ambulance where further treatment was been administered on him.

Ajidagba later died in the hospital, despite efforts of the medical officers at the UCH.

Communications, Mr Olatunji Oladejo said “It’s unfortunate that Victor Ajidagba, a 400 level student of the department of Nursing slumped and died yesterday night (Wednesday) despite efforts of doctors and nurses of UI medical centre, Jaja clinic and at the UCH.”

Oladejo noted that the university will investigate further the cause of his death, noting that his family had been notified of the unfortunate incident.

He also revealed that no one can ascertain the cause of his death at the moment until an autopsy is conducted on the deceased.

Toke Makinwa is of the opinion that #BBNaija contestant, Gedoni is only taking advantage of his fellow housemate, Khafi, because of how she comes across to him.

Toke drew her assumptions from yesterday's incident where Khafi got upset with Gedoni after he refused to pick her for a task they were meant to do in groups, despite the fact that they are lovers.

Reacting via her Twitter handle, Toke said Khafi needs to leave Gedoni alone. According to the OAP, the comments Khafi made during her diary session last night shows that she has a lot of childhood issues to deal with. She offered to be a guest in the big brother house so she can have an opportunity to talk to Khafi.

The police in Lagos state have arrested a 35-year-old businessman, Friday Okeke, for defiling two underaged boys aged 9 and 12, inside his shop at Kose street in Lagos Island.

Spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, in a statement released to newsmen, said on Saturday July 27th, men of the Ebute Ero Police Station received a complaint from two different parents (names withheld ) against Friday that he lured their two male children (names withheld), ages 12 and 9 into his Shop and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them through their anus.

Bala says the victims were taken to General Hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.

He said the suspect has been arrested by a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer E/Ero. CSP Sina Olunlade.

He added that investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court soon.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, yesterday accused members of the state House of Assembly of blackmailing him and his government over the invasion of the chamber by snakes.

The leadership of the Assembly had alleged that they were chased away from plenary following the appearance of snakes and the collage of the termite infected ceiling of the Chambers.

The Assembly also announced the indefinite adjournment of plenary until government looks into the deplorable condition of the assembly.

But the governor, who stormed the Assembly by 8 pm, accused the lawmakers of embarrassing his administration.

Akeredolu said: “This is an attempt to ridicule and blackmail the government in the state and I think we won’t take it. That’s what I have come to confirm because I want to know the fact.

“The principal officers of the house had confirmed to me that neither a snake nor the roof fell on the Speaker during plenary.”

He said that a committee will be set up to probe the alleged snake saga in the state Assembly complex which allegedly chased lawmakers out of the chamber.

Reacting, the leadership of the Assembly recanted and blamed the media for misrepresenting them.

Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. David Oleyelogun said the media misrepresented the House on the snake in the Chamber.“Oloyelogun added that the snake saga was not responsible for the indefinite adjournment of their proceedings.

“The speaker, who denied the report that a snake or the roof fell on him, blamed past administration for the infrastructural decay in the Assembly complex.

Vanguard, however, gathered that in the last 10 years, N2 million were budgeted annually for fumigation of the complex and N57 million allocated monthly.“
