Stop posting jargons, abeg...which north produces food for d country?? Majority of our agricultural produce comes from d middle-belt and they're not associating themselves with the parasitic north.

Listen to yourself .. "and they are not associating themselves with the parasitic north".

This should be the most uninformed comment I have read this week; written by a Nigerian child.

Nigerians in Diaspora sent more than $21 billion yearly since 2015...My region has more than 65% of that contribution.

Regardless, of whatever region you are from. Nigeria does not keep records so meticulously as to know the ancestral heritage of individuals who remit foreign earnings.

Secondly, Nigeria has a tax code and these are the recommendations on foreign earnings:

1. * Personal Income tax decree 104 of 1993
proceeds of foreign earnings that are repatriated into Nigeria in convertible currencies, to which concessional tax rates apply;
all salaries, dividends, interest, rent, royalties, fees, commissions, etc., earned from abroad and brought into Nigeria by Nigerian residents,
provided the income is received in convertible currency that is paid into a domiciliary account in a bank approved by the government;
[

2. ** Tax credit allowable against tax payable on income derived from outside Nigeria
Notwithstanding the provisions of section 3 (l) of this Act, where a resident derives income from a source outside Nigeria and the income is brought into Nigeria through Government approved channels, he shall be allowed a tax credit against the tax payable by him but the tax credit shall not exceed the proportion of his total tax for the year of assessment which that income derived from outside and brought into Nigeria bears to his aggregate income chargeable to tax in Nigeria.

So, when money is remitted to Nigeria it is either tax free or receive's a tax credit. Little or nothing goes into the government coffers.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Will Collapse If Buhari Wins 2019 Election – Obasanjo by UncleJJ(m): 1:53pm On Mar 17, 2018
Obasanjo blew Odi to bits, our country did not collapse.
Obasanjo was the executive producer Zaki Biam, our country did not collapse.
Obasanjo denied Kogi state, the steel mill by refusing to complete the contract .. we never die.
Obasanjo is at the center of the fundamental problems Nigeria has today.

And, I still maintain... Yar'adua could have lived longer.

Just think of what the North would do if they don't taste power at the center for the next 20 years with no hope of ever getting there again!

Obasanjo ruled Nigeria for 8 years, Jonathan for 6 in total , the south has ruled for 14
Yar'adua ruled for 2 years, Buhari for 3 years, the north has 5 years since the return to democracy.

One cannot become president without overwhelming support from the north.

You should be on facebook or instagram or one of those porn sites. You don't have the IQ to be here.

You took to long to get to your point. When you got there, it was emotional angry.

I support you nonetheless, and hope you will continue to share your views well informed or not.

You should concentrate on facts, strip out the noise - your tirade about the label "militant" was a distraction.

On Nairaland threads often derial when the are lack in facts and strong arguments.

Google scholar is the first place to look. Spend 30 minutes reading a paper and you will gain a lifetime of information. Most of the views aired over the media are often wrong. Use the research papers; arm yourself with "valid" information.

You can cite them in your writings, as authoritative. This will discourage the uninitiated, and guarantee that your "report" is welcomed with well grounded criticism.

Your first few lines are your main thesis or summary. The intellectuals will stay on the thread, the uninitiated will leave; if they persist, they will be ignored.

What nonsense!
It makes the other party lazy and take things for granted. There must be a level playing ground. We are all Nigerians.

It makes no one lazy. It only goes to show that you are not as intelligent as the candidates from your state.

Why is it so hard to understand that, you will be judged based on your state's performance.

If students from state A's mean mark is 300 and students from state B's mean mark 200. Why should a student from a state A with a total of 250, demand that he should be treated the same way a student from state B with a total of 208 is treated.

If you're are from state A, you need a minimum of 300 marks to scale through. If you are from state B you need a minimum of 200 to scale through.

Why are you complaining? You are simply not as smart as the candidates from state A, and you are from state A.

Your failure simply shows, that several candidate from your state or catchment area are better than you.

Go to the private sector and get a job. After all, your are "qualified". grin

Can you imagine many qualified candidates were rejected because of the quota system crap and more so in exchange For candidates who scored lower than required by the company

Your quota was filled and you want them to take another state's quota to satisfy you because you're qualified.

Are you the only qualified person to apply. What about the last 500 C.V you submitted, did any of the companies call you back?

Were you not qualified?

Better double your hustle. If the cuttoff was 100 and your states candidates average was 150 and you scored 145, how can you be qualified?

If another state's average was 115, and the guy who got the job score 120, is he not qualified. First you beat the general cutoff points, then you beat your categories cutoff points.

Always complain about quota system but do not know how it works. And yet you claim you're qualified.

I'm also of the minority tribe while my mum is of the majority and the quota system admission pattern also affected me and I lost a year. Some people want to be spoon fed in all aspects of their lives, yet they want to rule you by force with their half baked brains.

How can the quota system affect a minority tribe ? Are you joking or what. It's like a Bayelsa indigene applying for admission in UniJos. Your certainly going to get admission - as long as the slots for Bayelsa is open, which it often is. Same with all minority tribes.

Quota system is for the weak not strong. .. I can't stop laughing.... somebody said quota system is stopping him from going to school.

In the US, quota system is called the equal opportunity act. In Norway and Sweden where free education is possible. Quota system allow Nigerian students get admission. In British schools where scholarships are awarded quota system is used in some cases to get an equal distribution among races, countries and classes.
