Regarding the testimonies,I personally don't know why I always got a cold feet each time I come across a website with lot of testimonies on their site. I prefer when the testimonies/recommendation are mentioned in a forum or blog by someone you don't know at all. I think I will give your advice a try. Thanks for the tip

Seun: This is on point. You've succeeded in following the rules! But you need to work on making your ad more compelling. Put yourself in the mind of prospective Nairaland advertisers. What do they want? What do they need? How can you draw their attention instantly and retain it? Good luck!

but seun shouldn't limit designers
You should completely mimic google adverts on nairaland, same dimensions,same everything
copy their format, don't limit advertisers to this small size format, its too myopic

this your graphic is very sharp. I think you know what you are doing....Kudos....

ayo84: I think seun should get a business developer that would design a proper advert business model for nairaland and also some other creative business strategies that would help nairaland generate revenue.
The first mistake a website owner should think is that the only money he can make is from adverts from other people.
There are some other creative strategies Seun can generate revenue from nairaland,
The current adverts being advertised are too small and unattractive and not professional, you should setup an automated advert system and integrate it with multiple payment systems.
Also i have a solution to target local advertisers in Nigeria, who don't even use the internet which can see that nairaland generates over 100 million naira in a month

The challenge of designing effective ads at that size.

To make things easier for our advertisers, I've decided to launch a web advert design contest. The rules are as follows:
1) Post your name or the name of your company, and a link to the web advert design page (you can create a new one) on your website.
2) Upload up to four original web adverts in the 154 by 95 pixel format, advertising your web advert design service.

Our small panel of judges will select the 3 best adverts (at least) and award the winners with free advertising worth ₦30,000 each.

Deadline: Friday, September 21, 2012 at 4:00pm. Please drop a reply if you intend to participate.

unclenna: @fizanos, let me help you out a little here...........I think what senu wants is who can be able to pass information to the public using that little space..........what he wants is how you can use that small pix on your site to pass an information to the public that you do COPERATE BRANDING and Printing without writing all those things by the side of the pix...........Is more of a marketing knowledge and also a graphic design knowledge......Hope this may help...Thanks.
