the main cause of this volatility:
1) JAPANESE govt for the first time in three years embarked in selling yen, this singular action triggered the upward movement of USDJPY

2) EURO ZONE DEBT CRISES, This action helped to pull the EUR currency pair south

Right now you can notice that the technical has some how failed. What is ruling is the fundamental. Thsese happen at least once in a month

Like myself I know that most of us are technical traders, .Let me give you the secret to survive when fundamental is ruling the market, Jump to higher time frames for your analysis, Now am using daily chart and my system works for all time frame.

I want to use this opportunity to invite traders in this house to fxopen competition, for more info go to fxopen dot com

BusinessPalestinian Now Member Of Unesco ( Us Government Cut Off Tens Of Millions) by unclenna(op): 4:13pm On Nov 01, 2011
The US government has cut off tens of millions of dollars in annual funding to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) after it voted to admit Palestine as a full member.

Victoria Nuland, the US state department spokeswoman, said payments to the Paris-based organisation would be stopped immediately. She said Washington would refrain from making a $60m payment it planned to deliver in November.

"Today's vote by the member states of UNESCO to admit Palestine as a member is regrettable, premature, and undermines our shared goal of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East,'' Nuland said.

The Palestinian bid received 107 "yes" votes during a UNESCO meeting in the French capital, with 14 countries voting against and 52 abstaining, enough to satisfy a two-thirds majority of those countries present and voting.

The decision grants full membership to Palestine, which has had observer status since 1974; it allows the Palestinians to register certain sites, like the Church of the Nativity, in UNESCO's World Heritage register. Riad al-Malki, the Palestinian foreign minister, said the vote would help to "preserve cultural heritage in Palestine."

UNESCO membership marks a small victory for the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), which filed a bid last month for full membership at the UN.

UNESCO, like many UN agencies, is a part of the world body but has separate membership procedures and can make its own decisions about which countries belong.

The disconnect between memberships is rare but not unprecedented. Two tiny Pacific island nations - the Cook Islands and Niue - are members of UNESCO but not the UN, while Liechtenstein belongs to the larger world body but not the cultural agency.

The PLO's bid for full membership has been stalled for weeks at the UN Security Council, and will likely face a US veto when it comes to a vote.

Symbolic weight

The "yes" vote at UNESCO will add at least symbolic weight to the PLO's argument that the UN should recognise a Palestinian state.

"It's good news. It's another step in the right direction," said Husam Zomlot, a PLO member and former ambassador. "We're marching towards full status in the international system. UNESCO is a very important organisation."

Nimrod Barkan, the Israeli representative to UNESCO, called the vote "tragic for the idea of UNESCO".

Israel voted against the measure, as did the US, Canada and several European countries, including Germany. The UK abstained, while France voted in favour.

Ahmed Yousef, a Hamas official and the deputy foreign minister in Gaza, called it a "great achievement" and said the vote "shows that Israel and America are not dictating politics to the world anymore".

Mouin Rabbani, an analyst at the Institute for Palestinian Studies in Amman, said the vote would make it harder for those countries to successfully oppose Palestinian efforts for recognition.

"What they're doing is developing leverage over the Americans, the Europeans, the Israelis, so these parties begin to take them more seriously," Rabbani said.

Nuland said the vote triggered a long-standing congressional restriction on funding to UN bodies that recognise Palestine as a state before an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal is reached.

'Direct negotiations'

"The United States remains steadfast in its support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, but such a state can only be realised through direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians," she said.

Nuland said the PLO's push for UN recognition had hindered talks between Israel and the PLO. But pressed by reporters in Washington, she could not say how the UNESCO vote hurt negotiations. Talks between the two sides have been stalled for more than a year.

The US would maintain its membership and participation in the body, Nuland said, though it was not immediately clear how that would work if it was no longer paying its share of the costs.

UNESCO depends heavily on US funding, with Washington providing 22 per cent of its budget, but has survived without it in the past.

The US pulled out of UNESCO under President Ronald Reagan, rejoining two decades later under President George W Bush.

The European Union tried to stop the PLO bid by offering them limited membership on UNESCO's executive committee, and funds to renovate the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, believed to be the birthplace of Jesus.

The PLO rejected that offer, with one official telling the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that "the EU [was] trying to tempt us with money to sell our principles".

BusinessLibya's Ntc Names Interim Prime Minister by unclenna(op): 4:09pm On Nov 01, 2011
Libya’s Transitional National Council (NTC) has chosen Abdurrahim El Keib as the country’s new interim prime minister to replace Mahmoud Jibril.

"This transition period has its own challenges. One thing we will be doing is working very closely with the NTC and listening to the Libyan people," El Keib said on Monday after his appointment was determined by members of the transitional council.

"We salute and remember the revolutionaries who we will never forget. We will not forget their families. I say to them that the NTC did not and will not forget them and also the coming government will do the same," he added.

El Keib, an electrical engineer and professor at the university of Tripoli, garnered 26 votes out of the total of 51 votes, and said that he expected to choose his cabinet ministers within two weeks.

"We said we would (elect a cabinet) a month from the liberation. We have two weeks left and we intend to meet that deadline," he said.

Mustafa Abdul Jalil, the NTC chairman, did not run, while former interim PM Jibril fulfilled a promise to resign after Libya was declared officially "liberated" after the fall of Gaddafi's hometown Sirte.

The NTC has promised to hold elections after eight months for a national assembly that will spend a year drawing up a new constitution before a parliamentary poll.

BusinessEurope: Greek Bailout Vote Reignites Euro Crisis by unclenna(op): 3:59pm On Nov 01, 2011
European stocks have fallen sharply in early trading after George Papandreou, the Greek prime minister, called for a national referendum on a eurozone-backed rescue package for his country's debt-crippled economy.

In Frankfurt, Germany's Dax benchmark financial index was down 3.5 per cent early on Tuesday while Paris' CAC dropped 3.4 per cent and London's FTSE opened 2.2 per cent lower.

Asian markets also suffered losses with the Nikkei in Tokyo closing down 1.7 per cent and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong ending the day down 2.5 per cent.

French banks, which are considered to be particularly exposed to any Greek default, suffered the steepest falls with Societe Generale 10 per cent, BNP Paribas 8.9 per cent, UniCredit down 8.1 per cent and Credit Agricole down 10 per cent.

Papandreou's call for a referendum raised the prospect that Greeks, a majority of whom oppose crippling austerity cuts which have been a precondition for international bailout funds according to polls, will derail the rescue efforts agreed by European leaders last week that would provide a $140bn loan to Athens and write off half of the country's debt.

There is concern that the referendum would be unlikely to take place before January, creating months of uncertainty for the markets.

"We trust citizens, we believe in their judgement, we believe in their decision," Papandreou, told ruling Socialist politicians on Monday.

Papandreou's announcement isn't fully endorsed by all members of his party. On Tuesday the majority of his Socialist parliamentary grouphas now fallen to two as Milena Apostolaki quit the PASOK group because of the referendum.

'Supreme act of democracy'

"This is a supreme act of democracy and of patriotism for the people to make their own decision," he continued. "We have a duty to promote the role and the responsibility of the citizen."

The announcement has taken other European leaders by surprise, ahead of the G-20 summit in Cannes, France, later this week.

French newspaper Le Monde reported that French President Nicolas Sarkozy was "appalled" by Papandreou’s decision, which comes after Sarkozy had thought he had played a leading role in finding a resolution to the crisis last week.

"This move by the Greeks is irrational and, from their point of view, dangerous," a source close to Sarkozy was quoted as saying.

In Germany, a member of Angela Merkel’s centre-right coalition said the news of the referendum gave the impression that Greece was trying to backtrack on its deal with EU leaders.

"I was irritated (by the news)," Rainer Bruederle, the parliamentary floor leader for the Free Democrats Party (FDP), told Deutschlandfunk radio. "This sounds to me like someone is trying to wriggle out of what was agreed -- a strange thing to do."

"Mr. Papandreou is dangerous, he tosses Greece's EU membership like a coin in the air."

- Yannis Michelakis, New Democracy party spokesman

"The prime minister had (agreed) to a rescue package that benefited his country. Other countries are making considerable sacrifices for decades of mismanagement and poor leadership in Greece -- wrong decisions were made and the country manoeuvred itself into this crisis.”

Jan Randolph from the London based IHS Global Insight told Al Jazeera "markets don't like uncertainty, and if Greece votes no, it means they'll leave the eurozone."

Eurozone strikes deal on Greek debt

Papandreou also came in for criticism from domestic political opponents.

"Mr. Papandreou is dangerous, he tosses Greece's EU membership like a coin in the air," said Yannis Michelakis, a spokesman for the main conservative opposition New Democracy party.

"He cannot govern and instead of withdrawing honourably, he dynamites everything," he added.

Papandreou on Monday also announced plans to seek a vote of confidence in parliament.

His government has seen its majority reduced to just three seats and its approval ratings plummet amid harsh austerity measures that have fuelled national proteststs and are likely to send the country into a fourth year of recession in 2012.

'Make-or-break moment'

John Psaropoulos, a journalist in Athens, told Al Jazeera that Papandreou's government was seeking new ways to legitimise itself following months in which it had faced public scorn over austerity measures.

"I think Papandreou has decided that this is his make-or-break moment and he doesn't want to stay in power any longer if he's going to be questioned," said Psaropoulos.

Nearly 60 per cent of Greeks view Thursday's EU summit agreement on a new euro bailout package as negative, or probably negative, a survey showed on Saturday.

Some parliamentarians even questioned the referendum's legality under the constitution, which does not allow referendums on economic issues but only matters of great national importance.

The last time Greeks held a referendum was in December 1974, when they voted to abolish the monarchy shortly after the collapse of a military dictatorship
