Yeah 'appeal', I get that.

Appeal to the same mods who have sentimental views on certain posts/topics?
Appeal to the same mods who choose to ignore educative material and would rather push IQ quenching topics to the front page?

Lol,I hear you grin grin

@bolded

Not when you live in a morally bankrupt, emotionally driven, hypocritical society. Trust me if this is approved, a loooooooot of insightful posts won't be seen because of their inability to gain cheap likes. Political correctness is a breeding ground for lies and deception.

Posts should be hidden not because they get downvoted but because they go against the rules of the forum.

This is where you have appeal.

Let me give you a gist, I noticed that Nairaland's link was blacklisted on Wikipedia, I appealed by going to the talk page for blacklisted links, there they gave me links to where the decision was taken to blacklist Nairaland, I saw sense in the discussion and accepted the decision.

Upvotes/Downvotes shouldn't be used as yardsticks to determine posts credibility/visibility. If things are done that way, then there would be lots of deleted important posts just because they didn't sit well with the public.
It can be used, you are sharing information that should interest people, there are people that will upvote it because they see sense in it. If majority doesn't see sense in it, then there is something wrong with your view, also there will be option to appeal if your post is hidden, then the moderators will look into it.

Lol, I updated my comment.

Coming to hiring developers, there are programmers who are looking for feeding money, they'll be willing to work for you for comfortable pay.
He doesn't need senior dev's or whatsoever they call themselves.

He is already using python and I think the antispam bot is written in python too, these will aid the Machine Learning.

convert the likes to upvote.

We may talk about Nairaland losing its speed and device compatibility, that will be worked on by the programmers, you pay them to think.

Lol.

Seun this is what we have been saying since upgrade nairaland and pay for more mods to end tribalism....

You don't need to remove any section, I advice Seun to upgrade Nairaland to function with upvote and downvote just like reddit, post with -ve reviews/downvotes gets hidden automatically, then use Machine Learning for frontpage, thereby reducing the load on mods and giving people recent contents related to their interest.

Update:

Here is a thread on NL redesign by a member www.nairaland.com/5034453/nairaland-redesign-whats-take

Using such design template, he will include night mode.

He doesn't need to run it at once, he can make it in beta mode for a while, then launch it fully later, he will also retain the old view by linking users to it.

It is not easy, but with money he can achieve it.

Arafat wasn't a terrorist and was recognized as a leader by many countries. Arafat held many peace talk with American president and Israel prime ministers
lol, you must be kidding.
One thing is that Arafat was wise enough to disassociate himself due to political reason, but he supported terrorist attacks on Israel because he saw it as a means of creating disarray in Israel.
He was number one on Israel's kill list, but he was removed because of political reasons, that didn't stop Sharon from plotting his death.

This news is a couple of days old. Why does this always happen on Nairaland

I saw this on BBC one Thursday or Friday and it is just getting to FP?

Now, about this dude, he had a long rope to amend his ways but he never took it cos he was in too deep.

I remember that very attack on that hotel in Burkina Faso very well enough. That hotel was Splendid Hotel in "Ouaga". He was behind it. The real mastermind.

That period[between 2015 and 2017 precisely] saw a series of terror attacks on several tourist spots around West Africa. Including those two at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako, Mali, and that rather surprising attack carried out on Grand-Bassam, Cote d'Ivoire.

Just because you read it earlier doesn't mean others did.
I am just reading the news and from here.
Don't use your own coat size as yardstick to measure for others.

To be an Al-Qaeda leader right now is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world right now.
The moment you receive your appointment letter, you're marked for destruction.
LOL, Just like Hamas leaders to Israel, Yassin was killed Abdel Aziz Rantisi took over, few months later, he was blasted off the earth to the underworld.
Hamas learnt to keep their leadership secret.

You don't fight terrorism by killing top henchmen.

They will only just promote the next SOB in line and business continues as usual.

To fight terrorism, you have to go to the root cause and cut off their recruitment line.

No new converts, no terrorism.
Yeah, you are partially right but killing their leader also damages stuff.
When Arafat died, PLO became disorganized. When Sheikh Ahmed Yassin of Hamas was killed by Israeli missile, they became disorganized and had to join forces with a group that Yassin would never had supported.
Cutting the head of the hydra still does damage to the hydra.

Politics / Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by UncleSnr(m): 8:37pm On May 20, 2020
Enugu town don't have water.
I saw it first hand during my stay there.
They use well water that dries up during dry season, the places that has water board, their water is not constant.
People that need clean water buy from tankers who goes to 9th Mile to fetch the water, that what some people drink.
Pure water is from Aqua Rapha which is in 9th mile.
A gallon of well water can go as high as #100 if there is no electricity to pump water and if they happen to be the one that their well haven't dried up that period/day.
