A yet-to-be-identified driver, conveying granite rammed his truck into a billboard at New Garage Bus Stop, Berger area of Lagos State on Wednesday, damaging the billboard and making the truck to develop a mechanical fault. The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident saying

“Upon the arrival of the Agency’s officials at the incident scene, it was observed that a trailer conveying granite ran into a billboard at Berger, inward Secretariat, resulting to the damage of the billboard as well as a breakdown of the articulated truck. “No casualties were recorded. Recovery operations ongoing while traffic has been diverted.”

A water tanker crushed a tricycle, killing one person and leaving four others seriously injured in Anambra state. The accident happened on Monday, September 14.

A statement released by RC Kamal Musa, the acting Sector Public Education Officer of the Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, states that the accident occurred opposite Jodon Shopping Mall Nkpor, along Onitsha- Awka Old road at about 3 pm.

Musa said the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking. He said four persons who sustained injuries in the accident were rushed to Boromi hospital Onitsha, by the FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command and the dead victim’s body was deposited at the Mogue after he was confirmed dead by the Doctors in the Hospital.

Musa Abubakar, aged 31 years old who hails from Jigawa state has been arrested by Rivers State police command due to the crime he committed.
