HENCEFORTH GAY PEOPLE WILL BE STONED TO DEATH, THIEVES AMPUTATED, BRUNEI’S NEW SHARIA LAW


Brunei could start whipping or stoning gay people to death next week when strict new laws are introduced, human rights groups say. The tiny oil-rich nation already implements Sharia laws, with homosexuality punishable with up to ten years in prison.

But from the start of next month the government plans to amend the penal code to mean LGBT people could be stoned to death and thieves could have limbs amputated.

Amnesty International today slammed the plans, describing the Islamic criminal laws for gay sex and theft as 'vicious'.

Brunei was the first East Asian country to introduce Islamic criminal law in 2014 when it announced the first of three stages of legal changes that included fines or jail for offences like pregnancy outside marriage or failing to pray on Friday.

Previously homosexuality was illegal in Brunei and punishable by up to ten years imprisonment, but the changes would allow whipping and stoning to death for Muslims found guilty of adultery, sodomy and rape, said human rights groups.

The new penalties, which also apply to children, are in new sections under Brunei's Sharia Penal Code and will come into effect April 3, Amnesty said in a statement.

The country delayed implementing the final two stages of changes after an international backlash in 2014 which included a boycott of the Beverley Hills Hotel, which is linked to Brunei's government.

But now Brunei authorities plan to go ahead with both stages, said Matthew Woolfe, founder of human rights group The Brunei Project.

Brunei's sultan instituted the Sharia Penal Code in 2014 to bolster the influence of Islam in the tiny, oil-rich monarchy, which has long been known for conservative policies such as banning the public sale of liquor.

Amnesty labelled the penal code as a 'deeply flawed piece of legislation' with a range of provisions that violate human rights.

The legal changes were announced in a discreet notice on the attorney general's website, the human rights group said.

Rachel Chhoa-Howard, Brunei researcher at Amnesty International, said some of the potential offences 'should not even be deemed crimes at all, including consensual sex between adults of the same gender'.

She added said: 'To legalise such cruel and inhuman penalties is appalling of itself.

'Brunei must immediately halt its plans to implement these vicious punishments and revise its penal code in compliance with its human rights obligations.

'The international community must urgently condemn Brunei's move to put these cruel penalties into practice.'

Finland Based Nigerian Blogger, Obi-West Utchaychukwu Launches "Diaspora Glitz Magazine In Grand Style


Finland based Nigerian blogger, Obiwest Utchaychukwu launched his much anticipated "Diaspora Glitz Magazine" over the weekend. The glamorous event took place at Malmi, a regional center and a major district on the north-eastern part of Helsinki. It was a night of glitz and glamour, a gathering of la crème de la crème of the diaspora community.



The launching of the magazine was a huge success as more than 150 friends, social media followers, political associates and business owners graced the occasion which is unprecedented in the history of the diaspora community in Finland. All the Chairmen/President of all the Nigerian associations/union, including the Nigerian football team were all at the event.





Finnish MP, Pia Kauma of the National Coalition Party was a special guest while Sari Sarkomaa, a Member of the Parliament and the former Minister of Education couldn't make it to the historic event but sent in her wishes.



The publisher, during his prologue spoke about the need for immigrants to take their rightful place in the society. He opined that the gains of multiculturalism and societal inclusion cannot be over emphasized. In most countries, immigrants play a pivotal role in social and economic development. Many countries that opened their borders for integration are reaping the dividends, he added.



According to him, Immigrants have a role to play in integration drive, they need to get involve with what the country has to offer. It’s hight time they come out from their comfort zone and help the government to actualize the integration quest and change the narrative that Finland is a homogeneous country.



The esctatic guests were entertained by musical performances by Obi Phrase, The Sierra Leonean musical ambassador to Europe and  The Raddick music group. The Anambra State cultural association musical group and Mr Archibong Eyo added colour to the event  with their cultural dance performances.

So, growing up, life has taught me a lot. I can’t believe I am surging ahead from age to age. I have had ups and downs in life and it has been the most interesting part of my life (the ups and downs). My biggest thanks goes to my backstabbers, they’ve contributed a lot to my success, if any. The more they stabbed my back, the more they pushed me close to success, the more results I get. I can never have come this far without your negative contributions to my life. You’ve wasted a lot of time following and gossiping me to people that doesn’t matter to me, and even if they matter, your gossips brought the best out of me. If you hate someone, the best way is never to show your hate nor talk bad about the person, because immediately you do, and the person got to know, automatically you have reduced yourself, you’ve reduced your blessings and your future in comparison with that person will start to blink like Nigeria electricity lol.

To the positive people, you are my Angels, what can I do without you? You’ve showered me with love, happiness and everything that keeps me going. Your motivation is second to none. You’ve all made me believe that wealth and riches are measured by the people and lives you touched. You’ve made me believe that touching lives is not only with money (finance) but sometimes inspirations can touch lives better. When i was having sleepless nights, thinking 2, 3, 5, 10 years ahead, some people were busy inside their small and big rooms, blabbing and slandering my little name, that years has passed and those nights without sleep yielded results.
Are you doing the same thing to someone today? Do you see yourself among those who stay inside big or small rooms to gossip and slander people you hate? How many hours and years have you done that? If you find yourself doing this, there is spiritual consequences!! Pray that the person never get to know that you are gossiping him, but how is that possible? It is almost impossible that the person will never know, but the shocking consequence is that, the day the person got to know that all you do with your friends is gossip him/her, you’ve spiritually sold your blessings to that person. The person will start to work tirelessly to prove you wrong and whatever he/she touches, God will bless it extremely.

So, God in his infinite mercy continued to bless everything I touched. What else can I ask from God? Only long life, and also to my backstabbers and to those who genuinely love me and admires me.

Cardinal George Pell has been jailed for six years for sexually abusing two teenage choirboys in the 1990s.

Pell, the world's most senior Catholic official to be convicted of child sex abuse, was found guilty in December of orally raping a 13-year-old choirboy and molesting another at St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne after a Sunday mass.

The 77-year-old stared directly at Chief Judge Kidd when he imposed the sentence on Wednesday morning which allows Pell to apply for parole after three years and eight months.

In remarks broadcast live around the world from Melbourne County Court, Judge Kidd called Pell's crimes 'breathtakingly arrogant' and said the abuse has caused 'long-term and serious harm.'

He said Pell's age and lack of offending for 22 years meant he is not a danger to the community and is not likely to re-offend.

DailyMail reports that the judge also took into account Pell's ailing health as he suffers from high blood pressure and congestive heart failure which requires him to have a pacemaker - and said there was a chance Pell will die in jail.

But because the disgraced cardinal still denies the abuse, Judge Kidd said he had shown 'no remorse or contrition' which could have reduced the sentence.

Pell, who was until late February the Vatican's treasurer and once considered a pope in waiting, will be placed on the sex offender's register for the rest of his life.

After the court hearing, campaigners called the sentence lenient and a 'disgrace'.

Abuse survivor Michael Advocate said: 'It doesn't send any deterrent, it doesn't give the victims any sense of justice.

Referring to the non-parole period, he added: 'Jail time of less than four months for destroying the lives of two innocent young boys - is their life only worth two years each?'

Mr Advocate said it gave sex abuse victims comfort to know that Pell will be behind bars tonight and added: 'May Pell rot in his cell.'

The cardinal wore an open neck black shirt with no collar for the sentencing - the first time he has been seen in public without the collar.

At the start of proceedings at 10am, Judge Kidd said Pell's offending had a 'profound impact' on his victims.

But he made clear that Pell would receive the 'stable hand of justice' and told him 'you are not to be made a scapegoat for any failings or perceived failings of the Catholic Church.'

'Nor are you being sentenced for any failure to prevent or report child sexual abuse by other clergy in the Catholic church,' the judge added

The Mortuary section of Enugwu-Ukwu general hospital has been gutted by fire and all the corpses burnt beyond recognition.


It was said that the fire started at about three o'clock this afternoon and before they could get the fire service, the three -room-morgue had been raised down.


The mortician on duty couldn't stop the fire as he was the only person on duty and they couldn't ascertain the cause of the fire though according to the eye witneses, the fire may have come from bush burning as the surrounding is over grown with dry grasses.

Political leaders in Czech Republic have previously condemned Islam in strong terms. Now, politicians in the Czech Parliament are discussing the complete ban of the religion.

If someone calls for the killing of infidels and Jews, then it is not a religion of peace, saysMP Jiri Kobza.

He and his party Freedom and Direct Democracy, which is one of the larger in parliament, believe Islam is not just a religion but also a violent ideology that should be banned.


We have suggested that all ideologies that promote hatred and violence should be banned. One of the ideologies is Islam. And then we have fascism and Nazism, he says.

He points out that Muslims neither want nor will integrate into non-Muslim societies. It is not migration – it is colonisation.

According to Voice of Europe, a strong mistrust of Islam exists throughout the political spectrum in the Czech Republic, where only 0.5 percent of the population are Muslim.

We do not want more Muslims in Czech Republic, the Social Democratic then Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka noted in an interview last year.

Even Czech President Milos Zeman, who is also a Social Democrat, has strongly condemned the Middle Eastern religion.

Among other things, he has said that Islam simply does not belong in Europe.

In connection with the asylum chaos in 2015, Zeman noted during an Islam critical demonstration that the Muslim migrants who then made it to Europe came from a “culture of murderers and religious hatred.”

The Edo Union in Finland celebrated their end of year party in grand style. The annual event which brings together all the indegines of Edo state in Finland was climaxed with pomp and peagentary as the rich culture of Edo state was in full display.


This year's end of the year party is dubbed one of the best in the 22 years history of the union in Finland because of the high calibre of people who graced the event.


The union was registered with the Finnish government in 1997 and it's members comprises of people from all the 18 Local government areas of Edo State. It is one of the viable and most united ethnic unions from Nigeria.


Sequel to our interview with the incumbent president "Mr Jeffery Ehinoma" who stated that this is the best end of year party he has witnessed since he came to Finland. He also stated that he is looking forward to fully unite all the Edo indigenes in Finland irrespective of where they hail from.


Mr Jeffery Ehinoma was elected as the president of Edo Union in Finland in March last year and the duration of the tenure is two years.
