A Twitter user took to his twitter handle to share the uniform of a school in Anambra State.

You would recall that it is mandatory for schools in Anambra to enforce students to put on traditional outfits at least once in a week.


According to sources civil servants in Anambra State wear traditional outfits to work every Wednesday, and schools adopted and extended it to students too.


This is coming few days after the Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, Prof. Kate Omenugha, was spotted dressed like a student to work.

BRIEF STATEMENT ON THE APPEARANCE OF MY CLIENT (NNAMDI KANU) IN JERUSALEM YESTERDAY.


I woke up yesterday to scintillating news making round the social and online media to the effect that my client (Nnamdi Kanu) was sighted in Jerusalem during a prayer session.

Initially, I wanted to disbelieve it but for the source, struggling at the same time to come to reality that God has kept to His Promises after the murderous invasion of his home on the 14th day of September 2017, by rampaging Nigerian Soldiers, that saw the horrific blood carnage witnessed in his home on this black day.

But the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob has put enemies to shame, by the development of yesterday.

I cannot forget in a haste the anxiety that had enveloped me for this past 13 months .The anxiety over the uncertainty of his safety after my last contact with him on the 14th day of September 2017. A day I can never forget for the rest of my life.

On the face of this cheerful news staring on my face, I immediately intensified effort to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of the video clip.

Only, this morning, I received a direct confirmation from my client, hearing once from him after 13months in captivity.
I am very delighted therefore, to use this singular opportunity to announce to the world that my client is the very person seen in the pictures /video. That i can confirm authoritatively.

Furthermore, the shocking tale of how he made it alive once again will be made public in his scheduled world press broadcast to be beamed live within the next 24 hours.

The general public and indeed the world is advised to keep a date with this broadcast.

The world will now hear from the horses mouth, the gory accounts of what happened in my client's home on the 14th day of September 2017, only tommorow.

A COMMITTE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT HAS PROPOSED TO ISSUE HUMANITARIAN VISAS ACROSS THE BLOC. WOULD THIS HELP REDUCE ILLEGAL MIGRATION?

Safe and legal access to Europe without having to embark on a dangerous sea crossing – this sounds like a dream. And for most potential refugees and asylum seekers it is.

Humanitarian visas and humanitarian corridors are not EU wide policy at the moment. But after years of debate, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), a committee of the European Parliament, is trying to change that. On October 10, 2018 they issued a statement calling for the possibility of establishing an EU-wide humanitarian visa program by changing the current visa rules.



Similar proposals have already met with opposition at the European Council and Parliament level in the past. But if LIBE’s proposal is voted through in November, LIBE will ask the European Commission to submit a legislative proposal for the visa by the end of March 2019.

According to the European Parliament, currently around 90 percent of people granted international protection reached the EU through irregular routes. The proposal aims to reduce the number of people having to embark on dangerous and illegal routes.

Different rules for different states



Currently, individual countries can issue humanitarian visas and create corridors, but there is no bloc-wide regulation. In 2015, the Italian government signed a pact to create a humanitarian corridor with two partner countries, Lebanon and Morocco. Ethiopia was added more recently. The corridor came about as an ecumenical church initiative and is based on a Memorandum of Understanding. The Catholic Community of Sant’Egidio, the Federation of Evangelical Churches and the Waldensian Church have all been working to bring groups of vulnerable people to Italy to apply for refugee status. However, the numbers are limited. Sant’Egidio has so far brought over a couple a few hundred refugees and foresees the arrival of two thousand people over two years.

There are special resettlement programs in a few other EU countries. The Special Rapporteur at LIBE, Juan Fernando López Aguilar thinks that this facility should be made part of EU law. “Humanitarian visas allow asylum seekers to legally and safely access a third country,” he writes. The number of people accessing various schemes like humanitarian corridors, community or private sponsorship schemes and resettlement programs “remains low compared to the need.”

Saving money



The authors of the report think that a bloc-wide system would offer safety to individuals. Migrants would no longer experience the “financial repercussions of paying smugglers, and heightened risks of trafficking, exploitation, violence and death.”



A bloc-wide system would also save the EU money in the long term, the authors argue. With the current status quo, the fight against illegal migration and smuggling networks is costing the EU billions.

Besides policing costs, the EU also experiences high direct costs as a result of sending “high levels of emergency funding” to the member states who receive the would-be asylum seekers and migrants who have arrived in Europe irregularly. More money is spent “controlling the inflow of migrants and asylum seekers through border security and surveillance costs, search and rescue activities and cracking down on organized criminals who have been exploiting the refugee crisis for their personal gain.”

According to studies commissioned by LIBE, maintaining the status quo through surveillance, border management, third country agreements, development cooperation and organized crime associated with migration, like human trafficking is costing the EU somewhere between 47 and 48 billion euros annually.

Possible effects

A formalized humanitarian visa could help to ensure refugee compliance with EU values and would include fundamental rights for those who receive it. Providing a legal means of accessing EU countries could also help people who lack the means to pay smugglers and would reduce the reliance on illegal networks like smuggling in order for people to reach safety.

An EU wide visa system would also take the added financial and organizational pressure off first reception countries like Italy and Greece who both spend millions dealing with migration on top of money received from the EU.

Individual country programs

Currently, Austria has a humanitarian admission program for Syria. Between 2013-2016, 1,668 people were received through that program. Germany has a similar program targeting Syria, Afghanistan, Palestinian territories, Egypt and Libya. In the same period, it let in 19,047 people. Ireland has a Syrian humanitarian admission program and a family reunification program that between 2013-16 issued 649 visas in total. France also targets Syria with a special program which had welcomed 3,415 people to date; and the UK, via its vulnerable persons relocation scheme had got just over half way to its target of 20,000 people resettled by 2020 in 2018.



According to a report by Violeta Moreno-Lax, a senior lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University of London, written for the European Parliament, 16 EU member states have or have had visas at their disposal for humanitarian reasons. The problem is that each country has different rules for qualification and the programs tend to target different groups of people which can make things unclear for those wanting to apply. Since March 2017, France, following Italy, has also begun experimenting with humanitarian corridors from Lebanon for 500 Syrian and Iraqi refugees.

Not for everyone

In the conclusion of the reports presented to LIBE, all authors are clear that a humanitarian visa program would bring down both human and financial costs. What the report doesn’t target however is how many people wouldn’t qualify either for a humanitarian visa or for asylum once they do arrive. For those people, presumably illegal migration would remain the only route.

Moreno-Lax points out that bringing clarity to the visa application process will not diminish control but enhance it. It would allow for better screening of candidates and a better predictability of arrivals. This would avoid the current emergency spending that the EU sends to the border countries, Italy, Greece and to a lesser extent, Spain.

Whenever a pastor buys or is gifted a private jet for mission work there's always a fuss. Many tends to raise eyebrows over the matter, to them the pastor has backslided, they see him as one who has left the faith. This misconception got to stop. On-Air Personality (OAP) and staunch critic of men of God in Nigeria has cried out again for the second time in September over his poor financial status orchestrated by complete exclusion from entertainment contracts and MC gigs which fetches him millions.

BREAKING: DRAMA AT ABUJA AIRPORT AS AZMAN AIR PLANE RUNS OUT OF FUEL MID-AIR


About 60 passengers aboard an Azman Air plane en route to Abuja were on Monday thrown into confusion as the aircraft almost ran out of fuel while hovering in the air for hours after it was prevented from landing.

A source, who was also on board the Flight ZQ 2332 but asked not to be named, told Saharareporters that the aircraft departed Kano at 1:20pm and was expected to land at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja at 2:05pm . He said that when the pilot contacted the control tower for clearance for landing, he was told that he could not land because of some military planes on special operation were at the airport.

The pilot was in a dilemma and thought about returning to Kano after spending over an hour hovering in the air and having already announced that he was running out of fuel. Some passengers rejected the decision and prevailed on him to land, saying that they would be down with the consequences of violating the directive of the control tower.

The pilot was said to have yielded to the request and landed without clearance from the control tower.

Among the passengers were Sule Lamido, a presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, and Senator Sabo Mohammed from Jigawa State.

The pilot was reported to have apologised to the passengers for the delay.

Efforts to get officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to react to the incident were unsuccessful.

Some military planes belonging to Air Force are on aerial display rehearsal in Abuja ahead of the Independence Day celebration on October 1.

It is not yet uhuru for presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters as the N1billion libel suit filed against him by Apostle Johnson Suleman, the President/Founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide will come up for hearing at the Ikeja High Court in Lagos on November 6, 2018.

You would recall that march last year, Apostle Johnson Suleman filed a libel suit of  N1billion against Sahara Reporters owner for defaming his character. The fiery preacher was under media trial last year and Sowore the owner of Sahara Reporters was part of the blackmail gang that was spearheaded by Festus Keyamo, a controversial lawyer.

During the media trail, Omoyele Sowore published several libelous articles against the man of God. Just recently, a Nollywood actress, Daniella Okeke whom they got involved in the scandal came out to address the issue.

Daniella Okeke said "The man of God in question is a father to me but we live in a world where people judge you with their own standard..They said he bought me a Benz Jeep,I don’t own any and i have never owned any.. I read he bought me the car and a house in his name..That’s an insult!!

Am I a kid or teenager that a man buys me a ride and a house in his name? Its very Laughable cos All my properties are in my name. My lawyer contacted the licensing office where they claimed they got the info from and those ones said nobody contacted them"

According to reports, the fearless man of God said that he is going to tell Nigerians what they are bereft of in regard to the blackmail against him and that would be after the court judgement.

The presidential hope of Omoyele Sowore is already in bad shape as he is presently embroiled in another N10billion libel suit filed against him by Dr D.K Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries. In the suit filed before the Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo, the MFM founder said he was constrained to take legal action against Sowore, his online platform, Sahara Reporters Incorporated and the Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation for their alleged failure to desist from publishing false and malicious articles against him and his church, MFM, since 2013.

However, Sowore in a video released, alleged that Dr. D.K Olukoya sent his friend in the person of Dr. Aaron Akinloye to beg him and also let him know that he is willing to sponsor his presidential ambition.

Akinloye while reacting to Sowore's statement said the information passed onto the crowd Sowore addressed was wrong as the lawsuit he spoke on involving the MFM in Maryland, United States of America, had been won by MFM.

Akinloye, who said he met with Sowore on other private matters, wondered how he would have been chosen for such an assignment when he was not in the position to deal with such matters.
In his reply to Sowore on an online platform, he stated: “I Dr Aaron Akinloye have never said that the General Overseer sent me to you. You would recall that we were talking about UNILAG Alumni when you showed interest in the development of the school. Please, be very careful with the way you spread unconfirmed news. Mr Sowore, let me ask you, on what capacity would the G.O have sent me to you? I am not his media person. Please, be careful the way you are going about this.
“In fact, Sowore needs help. He needs plenty of prayers. Does he think he can sit down somewhere and begin to confuse the whole world? People that know him should call him to order. Somebody who said he was ready to confess his sins before the man of God. Sowore, we know your history while in Unilag anyway. I am not surprised. Why am I even disturbing myself over your cantankerous attitude?”

It was alleged that the police beat up the pregnant Nigerian Lady from Edo State.
