A 68-year-old man has been arrested for shooting his 22-year-old son.
Police reports had it that the father, Anthony Oyeniji used a pump action rifle to shoot his son, Taiwo. Anthony however claimed he shot his son because he (son) tried to attack him with kitchen knife.
Taiwo, whose hand was fractured by the bullet, was rushed to Igando General Hospital for treatment.

A police report recounted the incident thus;

“On June 20, 2013, one Taiwo Oyeniji, of 5 Oyeniji Street, Micom Bus Stop, Akowonjo, was reported to have carried a knife and threatened to kill his father, one Anthony Oyeniji, 68-years-old.

“In the attempt, the father carried his pump action gun and shot him in the hand and disarmed him. The father has a fire arm licence but it has expired. Taiwo has been taken to Igando General Hospital where an x-ray confirmed that he sustained fracture on the left hand. Gov of Rivers State,Rotimi Amaechi just approved the sum of 100.000.00USD,the total money expected to get Music Producer OJB the required medical treatment.

The initiative was muted by Jazzman Olofin, and MetroNews Online publisher Femi Davies,contact was made to the Gov via the Political Editor of Thisday,Wale Olaleye.

The Gov promptly approved the total expected sum which will be handed over to OJB by Friday July 5,2013.

Popular rapper, Ruggedman, who shot into the limelight by taking a swipe at Eedris Abdukareem, Maintain and others has again lambasted some of his colleagues who have kept quiet over their alleged false donations to the 'Save OJB Jezreel' campaign.

There have been reports and counter-reports that some celebs have made donations towards raising the needed N16million for the treatment of the music producer, which the organising committee in charge of the campaign has debunked.

There were reports that Ini Edo paid the sum of N2million, D'Banj (N7million), 2Face (N1.5million), Olamide (N1million) and Ice Prince (N500,000), which the committee claimed are not true.

Last weekend, it was also rumoured that due to the false reports about these donations, the Lagos State government reportedly withdrew its support towards the cause.

Worried by this development and the inability of the managers of these celebs involved in this matter coming out to clear the air on the issue, Ruggedman has vented his anger and has termed the above celebs as "liars".
