The situation is getting out of hand around the world. Although Atiku has informed the NCDC, its possible that there are many many more people walking around with the virus and they don't know it yet!

Go and sit down Pls....
If u really know TWoods, u won't like him. I bet u majority of peeps here who know him well don't. He's a bitter and sad person. Make he go find who do am. No be us here do am. He's a Nigerian like us forming posh... Forming Oyibo. Condemning us like wetin na

To answer ur question anyways..... U know what I will do nah. $10k no be here o grin
After putting my $10k for my akant.... I will come back for return match, we go know who u call goat!
Goat is an animal. I am a human being grin
Lol...

I get you though. However, I don't have to like him or dislike him because of his ways of communication. Besides i don't know him anywhere else besides here. And if he has useful info that he is willing to share, why not? Even if he is sad and bitter and still forms oyibo but has useful information to share, why would I have to be emotional about his manner of approach. I mean, it's his life and he can live it anyhow he desires.

These aside, the main reason I miss him is because he states things that are TRUE (from his pov) which mostly contradicts a lot of things. But if you carefully analyze the context, you'd realise that he always has very valid points.

Perhaps he would have thrown some light on some of the recent happenings on the thread, especially on someone who just got a gc under 2 years of leaving 9ja. I'd have loved to read his comments on that.

So sista! It's all for learning to me. Let everyone keep their emotions at home and be serious with whatever they want to get in life. For instance, if a keke driver insults you on your way to the consulate office, would you start fighting him or would you focus on what lies ahead? It's really that simple if you ask me.

It requires alot of public opinions to change rules. US doesn't change rules like that. That's the reason they ask for public comment before changing rules
I know that... which makes the subject matter contentious. And they keep going in circles because most organizations know the benefits internationals add to their business. Which is why I think that it doesn't really matter whether or not you are discreet about it or not.

Like I said earlier, that is my humble opinion.

Not necessary true.

There are some legal immigration loop-holes that are discreet.

And better believe it that the visa officers and USCIS officers all already know them. wink
True that... But why do you think they don't want to change themhuh?

I mean make things more stricter. Non immigrant visa is meant for temporal stay and not permanent stay. Discussing such stuff may tighten their policy cos they are changing rules
I see what you're saying and I wish not to comment further. But know that the US has benefited way more than you can imagine from their F and H visas.

Just Imagine putting together an all-star team composed of the BEST people from different Nations.

If its legal, no need to be discreet about it... IMO.

Lmao! I had to check your profile to see that you actually mentioned me earlier. That post wasn't even for you. It's for the clowns who came on here to attack me but sent me PMs later to be asking me nonsense. Don't take it p.

Where did pompous or show off enter this talk? Abeg let this matter go. People who know me know I'm an open book and I am quick to help those in need. I receive favors and pay it forward. What I did isn't rocket science, in fact I even got lucky lobatan. It's not like I'm one guru claiming to know a sure way of doing things.

As someone on here has said, to get a GC isn't mission impossible, there are countless resources online and a simple trip to an immigration lawyer will also show you countless options.

Don't take my posts too seriously o. I don't take life hard. There's nothing I'll do that someone hasn't done before, or even better.
This tone actually sounds better. The best I've been able to pick up from all your post are to study the new immigration policies and to talk to an Immigration lawyer. Which is very good.

We appreciate!

So might not be something share publicly like that
Thats true, but if it something legal, why do we need to bother about VOs?

Secondly, if he doesn't want to be public and is willing to share, it could be done via PMs. But he responds by calling people who sent him PMs hypocrites - which I see as unfair, whether or not he was criticized by them.

Hypocrites everywhere. Come here in public and call me a liar but you can send me private messages to beg for help on how to go about things. I've locked up, please stop sending me any private messages and/or requests.

Everybody go dey alright.

If you want advice on visa or life as a student before, upon, or after getting here, ask and I'll do my best to answer. Any other thing, please seek advice from someone else.
You're being pompous about something you claim to have. If you want to share how you came about it, please do, if not... then let it pass.

One way or the other, what will happen will happen.

Either you show how you did it or you don't.

People doubting you doesn't make them hypocrites. Simply means they need to know more. If you are willing to share in the spirit of the thread, then do. If you are not, then stop disturbing the thread by calling people hypocrites and showing off.

Told myself I wouldn't post anything on NL until something big changes for me.

July 2016: F1 visa approved.
July 2018: GC approved.
July 2018: Job offer accepted.

I'm now a legal permanent resident of this place... and I'm starting my job at progressive insurance on Monday 8/6 in the claims department. Not the best job in the world but I'd take $50k p.a. right now considering all I've been through lol. My second part-time job will earn me between $4h and $1k a month too so... not a bad start.

Now I can come back to NL and give advice like the old days to anyone who wants it. I don't remember the username of that guy who used to tackle me all the time with "body go tell you" posts. Baba, if you can read this, whether it's luck or not, I didn't encounter any of those scary things you predicted o.

Prospective NLers chasing the American dream, ask me whatever you need to know. Against all odds, I came here to study stupid course in a stupid school without any funding. 2 years later, it's all history. It took a bit of luck but who cares? I'm in a better place and that's what matters.

Don't let any keyboard warrior discourage you from chasing your dreams... keep sleeping! Lol.
Nothing is impossible.... I'd like to know more bro. I sent you a pm.

But it would be nice if you shared how you did it so that someone can learn.

Where did I mention that the German team failed in the World cup because of his picture with Erdogan.

I feel you guys should understand an argument before jumping into conclusion. Support racism? How?
It's funny you ask me this. You dont even realise that you oppose Ozil's POV, hence, technically supporting the media and the DFB.

If you didn't read Ozil's 1st and 2nd responses, as well as the statements from the Bayern chief Uli Hoeness, and the DFB's Reinhard Grindel and Oliver Bierhoff; then I can forgive you for not knowing what you were saying.

This can be likened to the feud between Trevor Noah and the French ambassador, except this is just the opposite.

My advice: Consider all sides before you make a conclusion.
SportsRe: Mesut Ozil Cites Racism: “I Am German When We Win And Immigrant When We Lose” by Upandup: 11:31am On Jul 23, 2018
Johnzzy:
I think Ozil brought this on himself.

You don't associate with a character like Erdogan and not expect a massive backlash. It's just like taking a picture with Bashar al-Assad, claiming he's your root, while you play for Israel.

He was naive.

The deal breaker was when Joachim Low asked him to do a joint press conference to clear the air. Bros started beating around the bush.

Given his level of influence and reach, he should be more discreet next time.
I hate to buy into arguments such as this. So you're basically saying that the German team failed in the World cup because of a picture Ozil took with the president of Turkey in London at a Charity event?

Come on... there is nothing that justifies racism. Ozil didn't fly to Istanbul to meet Erdogan and congratulate him on the Syrian war. I think Low and the media wants to use him as a sacrifice instead of criticizing Low for his poor selection and decisions at the World.

Stop justifying racism.

To my best knowledge I think it’s not necessary but you can take it along just in case. No VO will take your sponsor letter.
Another advice take all your documents you have in this life as you can’t tell which you will be needing really.
Best of luck
This is utterly incorrect. Someone's original copy of a sponsor letter was taken and not returned by a VO. Its advisable to take the original and a photocopy.

Good day everyone, just felt like posting few things on here. Coming to the USA is a first step in a right direction, dont let anyone tell you otherwise, however pls and pls have a plan. i am a newbie here, today marks my 43rd day, school is underway and i am trying to settle in, but trust me there are days frustration walks side by side with me.
I know for most (like myself) its all about greener pastures, but then HAVE A PLAN. be prepared, dont just get visa and come with barely 1000$ to your name. people do that all the time and say they will hustle it tru, you may (or not), but its an avoidable disastrous situation in the making. have plans that will cater for your needs for a minimum of 6 months. Coz to be honest, dem no dey share work for street, and as an F1 holder, you cant work (legally) and the school youre in may or may not have employment opportunities for you.
Again, dont think youre coming with the hope of relying on anyone, the friends family members (except its direct and immediate) you have would turn out more useless than useful (at lest 80% of the time). Be ready to be innovative and be ready to admit all youve got is yourself. Be independent (ask questions regardless), but plam for yourself such that you can stand on your two feet for as long as you become better submerged in the system. if youre coming with the hopes of the friend you have here without your own plans, sorrry you will most likely be disappointed. I have an elder brother here, who is more like my GEE, but i am charting my own path, i only ask for advice and directions from hom, i am not staying on his neck, we are not even in the same state (thats not to say we wont be linking up now and again).
Again, have a plan, go to school, if you wanna stay back, have a plan... have a plan.. even if you forget all i just typed, pls have a plan.. i mean a workable plan. the system wasnt exactly built to favor migrants or foreigners so youve to know youre swimming against the tide, as such u need extra push. its not easy, but its doable. its exciting after getting visa and many people get carried away with the harsh realities theyre coming tp face. have your money, for personal expenses, if youre rich enough get a car. Get a license, make sure you come with ur naija license as this will fast track your license (i aready have mine).
Good luck to the ones still on the hustle to get visa, and for those that have gotten theirs and will soon be here, pls have a plan. i am also a newbie, still finding my way around, no much friends (yet), very lonely sometimes... and to make matters worse i dont even know when next i am going to get laid (Tinder dey dull me grin) but i serve a living God, i know he will come tru for me.
have a great day everyone.
Most accurate account I've seen for a long long time. cheesy cheesy cheesy
