felai: God bless the mind that started this tthread and everyone that has sustained it thus far. Please pardon my naivety, but want to know if there is any Secondary school in naija that pays entry level graduate to the tune of 90k upwards.?
Any idea about the entry level salaries of some of this schools: Corona schools, Chris land schools, Loyola Jesuit, DAY WATERMAN college and other schools in their class, especially those schools that was listed as top 100 schools in Nigeria by an active poster on this thread?
Please don't ignore, after reading, really need your input.

So, as matured as you guys(avicky, Golden dr, Kendraloops, omawunmie85, Prof.gday, engrcharlesid, you, funpeter, idrock, peybutton, vikkyhills, LaurelP,odunhary) are, una no fit resolve simple differences wey una get. After all the hype, meetings and committee, this is how the cokies crumble. I do not believe in giving up. Whoever might have offended you or step on you.......I think forgiveness is key and resolving issues amicably. What if you marry tomorrow and your wife, children or even friends offend you, do you unfriend them, disown your child or divorce your wife because of an offence. What the Bleep was the problem and Women leader (avicky) said, "Oga were on top of it". Small get together una no fit organise. Why start something you cannot finish? Bunch of losers? Bros do mind ur language.. Anyway I never said it wasn't being organised ,I only said I do not have the information u need about d get-together . U wud get the info from other peeps in d group. |

iloveAy:
pls house how do i go about searching for a teaching job.i have no teaching experience.kindly advice me on what to do. .studied animal science. First u start by getting experience. But to do dat ur cv gotta carry some sort of experience or maybe not..but I bliv u must have taught during ur nysc year, if u haven't ,no prob. Meet a teacher any teacher you know to brief u how its done .if u don't know any, then get ur cv together n walk into any small school(maybe even pako sch) within ur area n apply. They would gladly take you and if there is no space, find a school really close to ur house that transport won't affect you and ask d principal that u wanna understudy teaching in their school for a few weeks regarding a project/research u intend to go into as u wanna dwelve into the teaching profession. They may likely allow especially if they don't have to pay you.. You can try that to gain lil experience and then move on from there.. This is just a guide or an idea on what u may try. Other peeps may add other approaches that may help out.. @peeps in da house ,over to una. |

moneybag911: Goodevening Greatminds, Please i need some to put me through as in (shed more light) on the different types of domains we have in Education. & also tell me what "Class control" really entails Thanks buddies. Since the first question has been well treated..lemme throw in a piece at d second .. For class control...its literally as it is written. "Ur ability to have the class under control". It involves keeping the kids from being unruly , makin noise, ensuring proper communication n concentration etc.. To achieve dat ,as avicky has said has to do with the individual.. Each individual has his/her own teachin style.. For example when u go in a class try to get to know ur students n find a way to catch their interest. One of the things I did one certain time was to inform the students I had test n when I came to d class they were all prepd for d test n I went ahead teaching as if I had forgotten but funnily they reminded me n I did oral test..I called out the first six names n asked them about three questions each orally n scored dem.(Altho d scores was not used) and called out the next 6students n said it wud b their turn for test in our next class.. Sometimes I go to d class with a pac of sweets.. Answer a question n I toss u a sweet..u need to see how they respond to questions..lol!! U may decide not to use any of d afore mentioned methods n jus ensure u manage d space in d class by walking around n amongst d students checking their notes if they are writing the corect things n point out mistakes to them like spellings or not underlining topics etc.. Also maintain eye contact n be firm when u want to pass a stiff instruction like "keep quiet".. Speak with a stern voice not smilin n saying keep quiet..there is a lot more on class control but from dis I hav written I believe u can get d whole idea |

endtime1: Good day all, I benefited one way or the other from this thread but come to think of it I had this idea running through my mind which came as a result what I have noticed in the education sector we graduates are at the mercy of school proprietors that pays peanut all in the name of salary, treating graduates as if they haven't pass thru university system at all. This private school owners have an association called Napps but we graduates working in so called private schools don't have any union per say to address all the injustice melted out to us..in this light I will love the movers and shakers of this thread to think of way we can save the brilliant Nigerian graduates from the mess ...pls sunnapar,Golden doctor ,profdgay,upload111 what's d way forward |

ravensckar: Let us not call a spade a spatulous object for abrading the surface of the earth. Let us simply call it what it is; A spade. That people snap up job vacancies here without giving feedbacks after attending such interviews is the height of insensitivity. Funny enough, this lackadaisical attitude of 'No feed back' is becoming contagious; As some of us who were of the habit of always giving feed backs have refrained from doing so.
I've been observing this trend for quite some time, and honestly it's worrisome. Out there, people request for cash, recharge cards, and even s*X to connect unemployed people with their prospective employers. Here, we only request for feedback and nothing else.
The last job I posted here recently was actually offered to me by a friend, but I told him I would pass it because I'm presently occupied with some stuff. Sadly, no one has come hear to give feedbacks. And I'm sure they would have gone for the school's interview. Such ungrateful attitude!
Let this be an appeal to all those whose habit it has become to always snap jobs from here without giving feedbacks in return. You should know for sure that you're being ungrateful. A word they say.....
Meanwhile, is there anyone here that got the invite from Thomas Adewunmi College, Omu-aran, Kwara state. Of all the invites I've been receiving lately, this particular one seems tempting. Already, I've scheduled my interview with them on Sat July 4th. If there's anyone who got their invite, please open up so that we can share ideas. Funny enough, I already have interviews slated on July 2nd @ St. John Paul's Sch Ikoyi, July 3rd @ St. Jude Private Sch Festac, and now this one on July 4th.
It's really the opening of the teachers' transfer window (as football lovers commonly call it). It's gonna be busy henceforth, but without regular feedbacks, I guess it's going to be a boring thread. Peeps! Let's keep this thread rolling with feedbacks.
P.S: Please, whenever you're to mention me, kindly put my moniker. Else, it might take time before I stumble upon that 'Visiting Prof' title up there. Moreso, that 'Visiting Prof' is just an honourary title and could be withdrawn upon the whim of the conferrer. Lolz! Another well put speech! I tink amma start posting ads again ..I jus hope I won't get banned again. |

Sunnypar: It is with disgust I write this to all members of this exceptionally great thread.
The only motivation we get from posting job advert on this thread is by reading your feedback which in turn helps other to make informed decision, but for the past 15 pages we have not had any feedback, imagine if we did not have feedback, how would you know what questions would be asked and how to prepare for the interview?
I am well aware that some of us used this as a spring board to better jobs but that is not enough not to post or contribute to the growth of this thread. The thread would outlive some of us. Shout out to the Great Golden Dr., Corkqueen, Givemejoy, Ofumaria, Pastordoalone, Choirmistress, LaurelP, Odunharry, Upload, avicky, Manie, xtfield, Islamics, Kendraloops, VickyHills, Queenex, Chrisdenil01, Oluemmakay(a great beneficiary of this thread), visiting Professor, Larry37, Glocee, Makazona, funminicrown, 2str8, Marvelito, CaptainDo(a beneficiary too) coolhamid, bettydee, Sunnypar and IDrock(Deputy Op).
Please for those always requesting for vacancies in specific location, "we" always advice you go to schools within and around your locality to submit your resume. Meanwhile, the get-together is taking place soon... Do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity. For more enquiries: PM upload111
Finally, who has marked NECO? Please post their centers for all to see. Thank you. Well spoken!!! Thumbs up |
