Health / Re: Wet Dreams: Natural Or Spiritual? by Urbanoversabi(m): 6:00pm On Mar 22, 2017
tosyne2much:
I grew with the mentality that those who have sex in dreams are under spiritual attack are suffering from demonic attack, but now, I've grown to see more to it and I have come to conclusion that it has to do with psychology

When your mind is so much preoccupied with secure thoughts, you're vulnerable to wet dreams and dream sequel intercourse
That's the point, but I still wonder how one would have such thoughts with Nigeria's economy... Or am I taking life too seriously?

Health / Wet Dreams: Natural Or Spiritual? by Urbanoversabi(m): 3:10pm On Mar 22, 2017
A nocturnal emission, also called a wet dream, is an involuntary ejaculation of semen during sleep. The cause of these experiences is uncertain but popular wisdom puts them down to either erotic dreams or the buildup of semen in the prostate, so basically its from your thought process.

Wet dream is an accidental and unintentional thing. It is not a sin that can be counted against you that you found yourself to have ejaculated, when you woke-up from your sleep. Medical scientists are of the notion that nocturnal emission/wet dream is a natural help for a release of tension in men especially.

No single man is comfortable with wet dreams for so many reasons. Most of the common wet dreams are simply that the man dreams he was having sex with a woman or a woman dreaming of having sex with a man or vice versa; but somehow they are actually masturbating while the dream is occurring. The scientists are of the opinion that men always think about sex a lot.

Ok, lemme talk about this from my own perspective. I don’t think I’ve had one before, yea really, or if I have then maybe that’s way a long time ago that I can’t remember. Personally, I don’t think its natural per say, and dwelling on the nature of Nigeria as a country filled with overly-spiritual citizens “I’m spiritually sensitive tho. just not an extremist” . I don’t see a reason why it can be viewed as natural not even with scientists saying its a natural help for the release of tension in men most especially.

I still can’t find, how that holds water abeg. Really!!! do they know the amount of stress and tension an average lagosian or a job seeker goes through on a daily basis trying to survive or facing interview panels?… I’d rather push it to the court of Wet dreams being Spiritual *grins*

What are your thoughts on this?

Is this a health post or a motivational post

I don't know for sure, which category it should fit in best. It passes for both I think.

Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained.

_Arthur Somers Roche.

I got a mind bugging message early this morning as at 6:30 am from a female friend from school, and as the conversation went on, we both figured she was dealing with anxiety. she was really filled with what I’d call a chronic anxiety, both from her just ended relationship to her life generally. I had to quickly come up with my secret emergency route, I take when I begin to get deep into such feeling.

So, I thought I would show them to you all as well, as I know a lot of you, also experience it and sometimes might just need a friendly reminder.

1. Take a day to just relax: No studying and no social media. Have a day to just think things through and if you’re an over-thinker (like me), have someone who is close with you to be there for you to try and calm you down. I’ve had these days before with my best friend and you feel so much better afterwards. Make sure for it not to extend to 2 days otherwise you’ll get in a routine and it’s not healthy, which will mostly take you to another land entirely trust me, you don’t wanna go there.

2. Go outside and take a walk: Just a stroll could help you in a very big way you never know; a park, gardens, a mall close to you… and you will see the beauty in it.

3. Don’t beat yourself up: Your anxiety doesn’t define who you are and mental health issues affects 10% (3 kids) out of 30 young adults and teenagers, so you know you aren’t alone.

4. Get enough sleep: Have an early night and I promise you, you will feel like as much as a daisy you can the next day. A good sleep, truly does make you feel refreshed, TRUST ME.

5. Avoid caffeine: I eat and drink (esp coke, but not like Mitchy tho) virtually everything and anything that comes my way, and that’s probably the worst thing to drink for anxiety because it makes it worse.

6. Talk about it: with whoever you need, I’m always here. I’m open to lend that listening ear.

If you ever need to talk about something (it could be anything) or you’re just worried about a friend, you can email me at urbanoversabi@gmail.com and I will reply within a few minutes or 2 days at most, I promise not to be later than that.

Remember that it gets better and I will be there for you for every single one of you, just drop a comment, email me or slide in my DM on twitter.

Till my next post ✌.

Romance / Dealing With Mood Swings by Urbanoversabi(m): 1:39pm On Mar 08, 2017
OK, I’m writing this because I just got over one right now, so I had to pen this down right away. Mood Swings are bad and I rarely fall into its deadly pit. Having mood swing is really scary to me, like if you do know Urbanoversabi personally, you’d know my switch is always turned on; no off/dulling moments at all.

I got back from work yesterday pretty early than I used to, so I had much time to relax, surf the net and maybe go to bed early, something I should be dancing home about, but Alas! that wasn’t my case #sighs . I literally walked in to the house, with a RBF (Resting Bitvh Face) you know like Squidward in SpongeBob square pants.
[img][/img]
I browsed through my phone, checking my numerous whatsapp messages including the “funny” bc(s), I replied most with Rotfl, Lmao and with emojis but in reality my straight face game was , like fvck it! It’s cyberspace you can’t see my real face, lol.(I still typed lol with a straight face).

So, I came up with some few back door escape route, that I feel could help you.

Here they are;

My little list of things to do when trying to deal with Mood Swings;

Browse through your phone gallery:
It has been scientifically proven that pictures bring back joyous memories, except you have an album of sad pictures which isn’t normal. I have a question tho: why was it proven anyway? Isn’t that normal psychology. Mehn! Science sha always want people to it proved something…

Listen to Music :
This is also a good way to deal with mood swings…….. Oh , were you waiting for my own testimony about this method. I stopped trying this method a long while ago. My phone music player doesn’t help matters at all. It’s always playing sad, emotional songs, making me feel like I just broke up with someone. My brain will just be understanding all the sad lyrics. Imagine, by the time I look through any mirror by mistake, I’d start seeing watery eyes. IMAGINE!!! .

Read through your old conversations :
I know this is being partial *grins*, you dey vex? Go and look for your own soulmate too. Reading through old convos, is almost similar to browsing your gallery. While reading through, you won’t notice when it all starts playing in your head and you’ll start shining teeth like a goat about to be slaughtered lol. It brings back memories which leads to my next point.

Calling Your Partner :
This is the best one for me personally, it’s like the hook, hook then bam the JAB! This is usually the best escape route from mood swings for most people. If you don’t have a partner, why not call a friend, an old friend, school pal, or sibling. It works 99.9 % of the time, except your own mood swing now has Ph.d .

I hope, this has been useful to you *winks* yea yea, I’m off my RBF lol.

Religion / Re: Is God Really Worth Forgiving, Let's Take A Look At Crimes He Committed In Bible by Urbanoversabi(m): 3:14pm On Mar 05, 2017
REIIGN:

You made some very strong points but I sincerely can't piece together the rationale behind creating something and not being able to protect it. Has God Almighty left us to our fate? If so, then why can't we cling to one of his "sons" who can fill in for where he (God Almighty) is lagging?
We as humans are gods ourselves, if as gods, we don't have power to do whatever we want, why then are we gods? But we more often than not forget that when God created us, he also gave us the power of FREEWILL. How do you think, he allowed Lucifer go then? because of the existence of FREEWILL. So, its left to you to choose which way you seem right.

Arielle:

Likewise. I have just recently given up. I'm not atheist because I do believe there is a supreme being or beings responsible for our being here. There is too much evidence in the make up of humans, animals even plants, that points to intelligence in their creation. I don't subscribe to the big bang theory. Sounds like a cop out to me. That said I believe this being or beings are very different from what organised religion would have us believe. I find it incredible to believe that in a world with people of such disparity in beliefs, traditions, habits, experiences, all worship must be the same. Christians act as though their faith is all by their doing and choice. The most fervent Christian on this board would have been the most fervent Muslim or Buddhist or whatever, if he had been born into that religion. Why are we now judged for something that is out of our control? And the argument for conversions to Christianity holds no water. If that were the case people would have been converting in droves. So in a religious country like Nigeria, with so much stealing and killing and hatred, one wonders if the perpetrators of all these evil are spirits. But with all the contradictions in organised religion, if you ask questions you are shot down and called names. Christianity itself has created so many atheists.

Okay, I stumbled on this somehow,I dislike coming to this section. I believe most people in Nigeria here or Africa as a whole, practice whatever they believe in, because they were born into it. Look, I'm a christian not because I was born into it, or because my Parents told me I have to believe in him. Personal Experience is what I'm hammering on.
Literature / Time Waits For No One by Urbanoversabi(m): 4:28pm On Mar 04, 2017
Time, waits for no one

I sat there on the table at my Taylor's place, scrolling through my phone, trying to read up on some history articles, from when, he started engaging me in a discussion, starting from admiring Lumberjack shirt... In other not to look disrespectful by not listening, I was just giving him the - OK? Hmmm. Ehen, ahnahn, until he made a line that surprised me; Time, waits for no man.
I locked my phone while raising my head up, slowly, I began to pay more attention to what he was saying. He continued, with how he never faced his studies, always being rugged, mostly never went to school, doing "Big BOY", even tho his Dad, always provided double of whatever he asked for in no time, slowly I began to get angry like "WTF!; If my dad got stuff for me at my beck and call and double, I know where I'd be by now". But hey! No life's better than mine. (that's what I've come to realize, about life).

Time waits for no one

He continued, with how most of his siblings are professionals in their line of profession, as his Elder brother's a Surgeon, his immediate younger brother's a Chattered Accountant and some Photographer, Lawyer and more. Then he called his son preparing for SSCE, to take a break from his reading to go and eat.

I became really moved with, I dunno what: just had to go back to my phone, scrolling through nothing in particular... He handed me my cloth, (still trying avoid an eye contact with him), gave him money and whisked out, with shaky legs...

Really, Time Waits For No Man.
