Travel / The Time I Disgraced Myself On A Lagos BRT Bus by Urbanoversabi(m): 8:39am On Aug 31, 2017 |
I usually do not take the Lagos brt bus, not for any reason but because Lagos BRT buses don't ply my route or maybe I don't notice them. To think, I was even the last person in my family to ever board a brt, even though na me the thing shack pass Lagos BRT buses keeps getting better with time. The few times I boarded them were quite interesting, you don't need to rush, it's organized; no Madam abeg adjust, it's a one chair, one nyansh setting. Like in the abroad. Before and after I went to school in March, I can say the last time I took the Lagos BRT bus was in 2016. Then I heard they renewed their buses and the new ones now have air conditioning and improved sitting arrangement. Wawu! Interesting!!!. So I never got acquainted with the new system in the first place. like say I sabi the former system sef... My Disgrace Story; The devil decided to play my penalty to throwing 2 weeks ago, when I had to pick up something for my boss at Alaka Estate from Ojota. I bought a ticket to my destination o, waited for the next bus, then as usual, the 'ticketer' collects and perforates your ticket to ensure the whatever whatever na. You know the drill. The journey started peacefully, the ac was blowing divine air in to my body system, as a fresh boy, I chook earpiece inside ear, listening to Beats FM. Not forgetting I didn't know the place!, so I was at alert all the same. Getting to my bustop, I heard the invisible hostess mention my bustop, for any passenger alighting. BRT driver stopped; the devil now wanted to play my own penalty to throwing... As oversabi that I am, I got up jejely, walked through the passengers to the front door, and folks were just looking at me like... Nigga where's you from bruh? I was dumbfounded till a fellow passenger said "you'll go through the back". I turned around making my way through to the back. *still forming posh* till it was time for the door to open... Can someone please sing aye le o please... I kept on pushing and pulling the door with reckless abandon that a lady said "as handsome as you are, you haven't entered a BRT?" At first I was like, why do they feel like they have made it in life because they know how to enter common BRT. Just that blue bus o. I didn't know when I almost broke down and crying, why didn't I just go with taxify or danfo as usual than going with the Lagos BRT bus. Now I'll be someone's pickup line when wooing a girl. "Baby, I'm an expert in everything I do even taking BRT, leave all those fu**boys alone". See as I just fall my hands. Just like that... ********************************************** Why am I writing this?.... Because I'm going to taking a BRT again today, to the same place for that matter! Oh Lord!!! My prayer points this morning I pray I don't encounter one of those passengers Lord, please don't let me forget the drill lord Lord, my penalty is my penalty. Nobody is playing my penalty to. throwing in Jesus Name. Amem! Let me go and get dressed... Romance / 6 Bad Habits That Make A Relationship Go South by Urbanoversabi(m): 1:13pm On Aug 02, 2017 |
Romance isn’t just about a box of chocolates on Valentine’s Day. A satisfying relationship can also make people feel happy and healthy . But keep in mind that successful relationships aren’t just about rainbows and butterflies—a healthy partnership requires communication, respect, and plenty of good habits from both people. So when dating that special someone, avoid stalking their ex on Facebook, keeping feelings bottled up. These bad habits could make a great relationship take a turn for the worse. 1. Avoiding fighting. Love isn’t all good, all the time. Disagreements are bound to happen, and arguments can be a healthy part of a relationship. Never having conflict may make compromise impossible. Just don’t make fighting an all-day affair. 2. Spying. When two people want to make it work, trust is key . Have confidence in your mate and respect their privacy: Don’t snoop through texts, emails, or bedroom drawers. 3. Allowing jealousy to take over. Doubting your partner may be a symptom of a larger problem: relationship insecurity. And women who feel insecure in their relationships may be at greater risk for health issues like a weakened immune system . Some advice for reducing envy, at least temporarily? Stay off Facebook and other social networking sites . 4. Lying. Little white lies whether you like it or not can add up and ruin a relationship that should be built on honesty. There is wiggle room; especially if you are the type that doesn’t like being lied to. YES, you heard that right!!! 5. Forgetting why you’re in it. Remember to ask yourself why you two are dating, and what you want out of it. Does a partner want to put a ring on it while you want to remain casual? Being with someone for the wrong reasons is one slippery slope! A really big one for real. 6. Taking him or her for granted. Actually, this leads to number 4 above. Always remember why you love that special someone. Showing gratitude and paying attention to that good person by your side will only make the relationship stronger. Why do you so love this person? would taking this person for granted really end up just “not bad”? Romance / Infidelity: Shocker As Man Orders For Prostitute Only For His Wife To Show Up by Urbanoversabi(m): 8:04am On Jul 19, 2017 |
A man from Katy, Texas, got the shocker of his life when he ordered for a prostitute online and got his wife instead. Talk about Infidelity at its best worst. The 52-year-old man (name withheld) had lied to his wife that he was going on a fishing trip when in fact he was going to a motel for a sexual rendezvous. On getting to the motel on Saturday afternoon, he logged on the website from which he ordered his prostitutes from. He picked what he at the time thought was a 28-year-old lady. Site policy made it so that faces were never revealed and only the body from the neck down was shown. The man ordered the lady, managed to haggle the price down to $150 from $200 for a 2-hour session. Around 8pm, people were made aware of a commotion from the man’s room. On investigating, it was discovered that the ‘Prostitute’ was none other than the man’s 49-year-old wife. The lady had lied about her age on the adult site. She was understandably angry that her husband had been cheating with prostitutes, but he also was incensed that she had been selling her body on a website. The woman has moved back to her parents’ house in Houston with their marriage on the verge of collapse. The man is in even more trouble as he now has legal troubles to contend with as Texan law stipulates that it is a crime to obtain sexual favours in exchange for money, the fact that it was his wife does not matter. *** I have nothing to say but… This is a very very bad situation. Infidelity, as I have found out is the major cause of most relationship failures and yet still gets less attention. Infidelity from both sides, I can’t deal. How did it get this worse? What must have gone wrong? Trust! Trust!! Trust!!! Source: http://www.urbanoversabi.com/infidelity-shocker-man-orders-prostitute-wife-show/ Cc; Lalasticlala Ishilove Farano Rocktation 1 Share

Food / Nigerians And Our Weird Food Combinations by Urbanoversabi(m): 6:18pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
I know as Nigerians, we have foods that are divinely combined, that its so so odd trying another food as a combination to its partner. But moreso, there are still foods that are permitted to have other combinations or can be combined with other foods. Example of such is; Bread In the ghetto where most of us came from, its usually combined with Ewagoyin (beans) or say, Bread and Tea, or Bread and butter/mayonnaise, bread and groundnut and so on… I think I’ve proven my point… However, there are some combos that make you raise your eyebrows or clean your ears or your eyes when you see people eating them. You want to know those weird combos? Bread and Suya: Who on earth does that for Christ’s sake? I mean, how do you eat that? to think some people find this as a heavenly delicacy. Bread and Custard: This one I’m guilty of. and no be say na me just start to dey chop am on my own o. Na my babe teach me. How weird? that’s what I used to think. I even teased her countless times when eating her best combo as eating bricklayers food. Don’t judge me, its just how it seemed, until she made me try it out and BWOY!!! the shii is gooooooooooooooood!!!! Semo Pap: I got to know of this combo this year, as a matter of fact, last month when my roommate and I were dead hungry late at night when we couldn’t go out to buy anything. My guy just brought it up, and after convincing me of its sweetness after mixing sugar and milk, na im we drink Semo ogi. To be sincere, it tasted nice and all that, but abeg!!! My mates dey chop lassangna, White Rice and mixed grill, am here drinking Semo ogi. And for the record, I visited the toilet to pee every 1hr30mins that night. All thanks to Semo pap. And the last one I found at the time of compiling this list… I kent take this anymore… I don’t think the owner of the account up there is a Nigerian, it just can not be. Twitter is home to savages, I must confess. What's your precious combo? #strangebutsweet Source: http://www.urbanoversabi.com/nigerians-weird-food-combinations/ 1 Like 4 Shares

Romance / 3 Ridiculous Reasons Why Women Friend-zone Guys by Urbanoversabi(m): 12:45pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
To ‘friendzone’ is a act most girls are familiar with; one that many have applied on a number of occasions for varying reasons. The term is used to explain a situation where someone wants to be more than friends with another, but the other person is satisfied with being just friends and refuses to entertain the idea of a romantic relationship. Nobody ever wishes to be in the Friendzone, but often times we find ourselves doing things that will get us exclusive tickets to go there. Ladies are more used to doing this, and of course, there is always a reason for friendzoning a guy. While there are understandable reasons for doing this,- she could be unattracted to the guy in a romantic way – there are also some ridiculous reasons given by babes when friend-zoning a guy… 1. I know too much about you One would expect women to feel comfortable with a guy who no longer has secrets from them, right? Funny enough, some see this as a reason to not say yes to a friend who hopes to become more than friends. It’s ironic that woman want a guy that hides nothing but say no to the one that has shown them everything about himself – past and present. 2. You’re too nice This is pretty hard to explain too, considering how women generally pine for a guy that will treat them with affection, love and kindness. “But you’re too nice. Taiwo… I just can’t date you” 3. You know too much about me If a guy knows all the good and bad things about you and still feels he wants you despite all that, then you can be sure he has thought about it and has no qualms with those things, right? Also, women want a guy who would take them the way they are… someone who recognizes the past is the past and would love them regardless. So while it’s not necessarily wrong, it is surely ludicrous to say the least when a babe gives this as her reason for friend-zoning someone who truly loves her. http://www.pulse.ng/relationships/weird-reasons-why-babes-friendzone-guys-id6971276.html 12 Likes 3 Shares

Romance / DEAR LADIES: Bitter Truth You Must Swallow by Urbanoversabi(m): 11:56am On Jul 06, 2017 |
DEAR LADIES: BITTER TRUTH YOU MUST SWALLOW I’m not going to bore you with too much talks, as I plan to keep this short and precise. So let’s get to it Asap… 1. Sex doesn’t keep a man, if you like, turn 360 degrees on bed, he will still dump you. Bleach until you become white, if he doesn’t notice the qualities of a wife in you, he will leave you. 2. A man who win your love with cash may not stay forever. Real men doesn’t settle down with fake women who love money. Truly, you wouldn’t want to settle down with a ratchet guy, but 3. The beauty of a woman can take her to a Palace but her character will determine how long she stays in the palace. Beauty attracts men but character keep them. 4. Material things definitely has its merits but it cannot alone provide the riches of a truly meaningful life. 5. Being sexy without a character will not get you a husband, you will only get a boyfriend. 6. Sex can bring pleasure but it can never bring love, sex is a product of love, love is not a product of sex. 7. Sex can make a man stay with you overnight but love will make him stay for a lifetime. 8. There are some things that money just can’t buy like manners, moral and integrity. 9. How you dress will definitely determine how men will address you. Its old, but golden. I hope this word is enough… Source: http://www.urbanoversabi.com/dear-ladies-bitter-truth-must-swallow/ 3 Likes 1 Share |

Romance / Love Is Never Enough by Urbanoversabi(m): 7:15pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
I’m sharing this because, I had a conversation with my Mum last night and it turned out, our topic of an hour long convo was “Love is never enough“. This is the basic of any relationship whatsoever. Love will never be the only pillar to hold any relationship together. There are other factors (pillars) required if you want your romance to be a bestseller. I’ve always thought about this since I was much younger and aware of the world of relationships and marriages, because I’ve always felt there are times we hate those closest to us. You want to know the cause? For No REASON!!! I’ve many a times, disliked being brothers with my brothers, disliked my mum so much I don’t want to see her. How much more a stranger we grew connections with all of a sudden. Someone we never knew from birth, nor since cradle (sometimes). It’s very much easy to develop dislike (hate if that would better explain it) for someone we are trying to erase every differences with. There and then L O V E, disappears into thin air and then Commitment, Trust, Patience and it’s colleagues appear like a cat in a magician’s hat. These ones are the extra fuel that keeps the relationship going before the love is reignited. These other factors are what keeps relationships and marriages alive against all odds!. I’ve asked my mum several questions in time past, and I think the last time I asked her something similar was about 5/6 years ago and it went… *** Me: Mummy, you remember that time that things were upside down the most? Why didn’t you leave daddy even when I heard your sisters suggesting you to leave. Mummy: Because I married him, not them. For better for worse abi don’t you watch film or have I not taken you to weddings before? Go and wash your clothes of last week and leave me alone. *** As funny and strict as that sounds, it was straight and precise. Love is never enough. Neither will it be now or in the future, because with the way this generation is going now ehn. It seems an app or a bot for relationship issues needs to be needs invented as a result of mass break ups. I think I need to do a follow-up of this topic where I’ll be talking about the other pillars when Love is never enough. As of now, I’m closer to my bus-stop, lemme start yelling *Owa* now before I’ll be driven 5 bus-stops away. Till my next post. Bookmark this space.
