Real Madrid and Sporting Gijon square off for the 40th
time in league play on Sunday. The Whites should have
little trouble however having not lost in El Molinon since
1994/95 and having not conceded a single goal in their
last five visits.
Jose Mourinho and crew head to Sporting Gijon on Sunday in an
attempt to extend the best start in Real Madrid history (26 points in
10 matches). Things bode well for the Whites, who are riding a
five-match winning streak in La Liga and who haven't lost in their
last five visits to the coastal city. What's more, with Gonzalo
Higuian on the pitch against Sporting, Real Madrid have won all
three matches between the two sides; two in the Bernabeu in
08/09 (7-1) and 09/10 (3-1) and the other at El Molinon in 08/09
(0-4).
