Almajirihunter:Keep playing the Ostrich |
6ixT8:Jorgiboy wasnt playing cos he was injured. No need for whataboutism. Like I said, One day I'll pull up our win ratios with him vs without him. I'm sure u've got an idea what it looks like |
Spurs scores. I wonder who we're gonna support between Arsenal and Leeds tomorrow |
TT post match comments. Does that feel almost like a defeat? Of course. What do you think it's down to? I think we started both halves very well, controlled the match with a very offensive approach to this game today. A very offensive 5-3-2, we knew about the risks in coverage to avoid counter-attacks. We knew about it so we needed to be very, very disciplined. We showed discipline over most parts of the first half but in some situations we took too much risk and lost discipline in the formation and we cannot do this because it was a very offensive approach. There were some dangerous moments at the end of the first half where we lucky not to concede. We were unlucky not to score, I'm not sure if it was a foul in the build up to the goal. Second half we reminded the team to stick to the plan, to execute the match plan with more discipline and more precisely and we were 2-0 up and again we take too much risk in situations where you cannot take this kind of risk. We invited the counter-attacks and big chances. Once you do this you lose confidence and invite the opponent to smell that something is possible when it is unnecessary. Great for Romelu Lukaku to get two goals. What did you think of his performance? Yeah, but guys. Okay good performance but this is for sure not the moment to talk about individual performances and praise players. We do this as a team and we lost crucial points. This is not the moment to praise individuals. Was six minutes added on fair? Yeah, I think so. I was not surprised about it. I'm not in control but it seems there was not a lot of time played so there was no problem. Did you drop too low in the final 15 minutes? It's not about dropping too low. It's about the structure, where you lose the ball, individual positions, then opponent takes a crazy approach because they have nothing to lose. We could not score the third one, huge chances to score the third. Big chances that we don't even create because the pass is missing, the dribbling is wrong, the decision is wrong. At some point we played like we were 2-0 down, so I don't think we were too deep, the opposite. Then we tried to respond to it and change the structure. I don't know if that was the right decision for me, I need to watch it back. It’s a lack of execution of the match plan throughout the whole half and we get punished for it. If it’s fair or not is not worth discussing. Did Marcos Alonso have an injury and why did you swap Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James? Azpi had a yellow card and he was very active in the first half but he was too offensive. He took too many risks there and sometimes we only had Ruben as the spare player in the two v twos and that’s why we changed. Azpi had a yellow card and we wanted the runs from him in the second half. I was very happy with how we started the second half, we created chances and half chances and had enough situations to have a 2-0 lead. Marcos was not injured, it was just a decision we made. Will the news of the takeover allow you to focus more going forwards? Have you had a chance to speak to anyone? No, I don't think ownership is a reason for lack of focus. We showed when the situation began that we can still focus. I would not consider this as advantage for Leeds as it does not change much for us because the sanctions are not lifted. It's not worth thinking about, we have our own stuff to solve and make better. I heard the news this morning and I was in my match routine so there was no reaction from me. I have not spoken to anybody yet but as I said, I was in my morning routine. I do not check my phone or scroll the news when in my routine and that was the same as always because I have a lot to do. I do what I do, which is to try to do the best preparation for the match. I know it’s positive and we hope for the best and situation is so long now that we need it to be solved but for me personally there was no influence on the game. You said some first team players could be involved with the under-23s tomorrow? Yeah, but we will decide it first and then we will tell you. |
Penny pinching richest brit basically submitted a low bid for Chelsea plus was pulling dirty tricks in the media . He was basically trying to take advantage of the situation by scrimping us. Musta forgotten how rich and liquid he was at the time. Also Sir richest brit couldnt even be bothered to fulfill all conditions of the bidding process and was outrightly rejected because they bid on a whim and had no concrete plans for the club (According to Raine group) but of course we are meant to believe he's going to take us seriously and has got the best of intentions. Funny guy also missed the deadline twice. Was probably counting on his liquidity and his british citizenship to do the job for him Someone who was given an equal opportunity but was banking on an unsuccessful bid from competitors so he can swoop in. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/05/04/sir-jim-ratcliffe-set-re-submit-chelsea-bid-todd-boehly-does/ |
Just take a look at the Man U team we couldnt beat. Smh |
6ixT8:We probably wouldnt have to RELAX if he played the game. I really wished we had gotten Hakimi and Tchouameni last season. We most likely wouldnt have been so bad |
swiz123:Probably now have to support Leeds tomorrow. Talk about self serving |
BlueMann:No comments on James. Particularly on the second goal. All the empty spaces he vacated today |
Fair play to Pulisic. No ball hugging. And that was a nice finish from Lukaku |
Looks like TT has switched Azpi and James |
I still maintain that I would play Saul ahead of this RLC in midfield. Never knows what to do with the ball, or releasing the ball late, worst of all not opening up for a pass. Just annoying how TT cant see through his facade |
Reece James has been poor so far. Showing serious lack of awareness |
Itsrm:Yeah terrible movements all around. What irks me is when he complains and points despite being the problem |
Lukaku standing still asking for a pass instead of moving to create option(s) |
Pulisic running lost so far |
BlueMann:Yep. Always gets lost in transition. Can be quite rash too. Overlapping and going on offensive when not needed. Leaves a lot of vacant space. Also has concentration issues. Strong pass |
Amoto94:Which Kimpembe?. The guy who always seem like a time bomb everytime he's on the pitch We may as well go for Zouma then |
Actman05:You cant be serious Someone with a P.E mentality. Plus all the nonsense and tricks he's pulling in the media Strong pass. I'll take the consortium in a heartbeat |
Cannot be a fluke. 3 ties, 3 comebacks. Madrid truly deserves it |
TT post match comments Thomas, at full time you walked straight across the pitch and back to the away dressing room. Just how disappointed were you with today's performance? "Very disappointed. We knew what was coming, and like in the last matches, we struggled to have clean sheets. In the last four matches, we have one clean sheet against West Ham, and it is the only win we have. So very disappointed." Another individual mistake that led to a goal, is there anything you can do at this point to stop these? "No, what can I do? The ball is free, then give a goal away. It is the worst thing that can happen to you in this atmosphere and situation. It happens too often, and we struggle to play without big mistakes. That's why we struggle to have results." Was it an attacking issue today more than a defensive one? What can you do about that because it seems to be a consistent issue? "If there is something I can do, I will try it, but if I knew about it, I would have done it before. I think, for me, the key is to have a clean sheet. Manchester United was a different game, more open, fluid, and more spaces, and we finally scored late and conceded straight away. "For me, this is more like the game against West Ham. The opponent defends deep, we struggled to find space in the first half, but against West Ham, we had a clean sheet and played without any big mistakes. That gives us the chance to score late. If you run behind against an opponent like this, in this atmosphere and install emotion and belief in a stadium like this and the opponent's team, you struggle." What was the reason you didn't choose to bring on Romelu Lukaku? "Because we had to take Jorgi off [at half time], and I only had three changes." You said you knew what was coming, is that something to do with the players' attitude? "What was coming from the opponent, the crowd, and the way to approach the game. We knew that, and nobody was surprised." Are you now in a battle to finish in the top four? "Of course, it was always like this. I said it many weeks ago that I didn't ever feel safe. We are never safe. By the way, if we are in a race for top one, top two, or top four, no matter what the race, the last four games to only have four points will never be enough, no matter which race we are in. "We have to take care of ourselves. At the moment, we don't get the points when we play well and deserve more, and we lose when we play okay, this is a bad mixture." Did the fireworks at the team hotel impact you? "Absolutely not. I personally woke up twice at 1am, and 3am for one minute and after the noise. I turned around and kept on sleeping." Everton played aggressively, is that something you had a problem with? "No, no, we expected it. It would have been nice to have a referee who was in charge of it – they got away with a lot. He decided to manage the game the way he did, and I was not too happy with it, but it's his way. That is why it is important to not do any mistakes, install belief, and to keep doing what we do on the highest level of focus. We struggled." Thomas, there is a preferred bidder now in place for the club, what are your thoughts on that? "I would like you to ask me the question at the next press conference. Right now, after the game, I have no feeling about the game. I am still in the match." Was it an issue today, Thomas, that the ball didn't stick upfront? "No, the issue is that we don't have the clean sheets, that's the issue." |
I think I saw one stat the other day that said Azpi has never made a mistake leading to a conceded goal. Looks like he finally got one today. Although if you think about it; As poor as we may have been, most of the goals we have conceded this season has literally been gifts from us |
andrewbaba44:Yeah...maybe I got carried away. It'll be really nice if they were though |
One day I'll pull up our winning stats with Jorginho vs without Jorginho. Pathetic!!! |
andrewbaba44:Doesnt even change anything. As it stands now. Everton's still gonna get relegated. Good luck with them in championship |
swiz123:Imagine where we would be if he was still coaching us. The shepherd and his flock kept coming up with excuses when I was criticizing his incompetence. Just look at them now. Shameless!! |
Finesse007:I want them relegated |
Richarlison injured. Nice! |
NinjaXmetahuman:He's besotted with RLC. Yet we keep losing with him |
Shame. TT bring Kovacic on for Jorginho when he clearly needed to slow the game down. Obsessed with RLC Man has been making terrible subs lately. |
Better a goal than a red card |
WhoDeyHause:Lets see how they get 5 points ahead of Leeds once we beat them today |
