He was gay, Alex Ekubo?
I wouldnt know and that wasnt my point, it was just a thought that came to me when I saw afrodoc common risk factors

Not that it matters now but he always had that tag (based on unverified rumors) especially when he had his engagement called off by his then fiancee.

May his soul RIP

Yeah, it might be a bit insensitive especially as i don't know much about the guy and there are other causes.

Liver cirrhosis from long term alcohol misuse is a possible factor but a more common factor especially in Africa is chronic viral hepatitis (Hep B and C). Those 2 infections abound in Africa with a lot of mother-to-child transmission and sharing of nail files courtesy of roadside aboki.
Another insensitive thought I had is that gays and bisexual men do have a higher risk of the bolded. But like you said it could just be a factor

Yeah, you're right, it is shareholders funds.

I don't know if it's a response to a supposed deprioritization of the domestic lending market. But I hear it's CBN way of reducing foreign exposure and controlling foreign exchange and limit dividend payouts to foreign subsidiaries.
Think either u're mixing it up or I am, which is why I asked for the circular.

The limit is not on foreign interest but rather asking banks under their supervision not to export capital to foreign entities or offshore banks under the guise of acquisitions and expansion funding. At the very least, mustnt exceed 10% equity contribution.

Its not just a response to deprioritisation of the domestic lending market, it's just a way of discouraging every other thing but lending which has always been their focus. If they're not pumping money in risk free treasury bills, they're the biggest investors in FGN bonds, anything non interest income, you'll see them there which is why they largely declare trillions in profit even when the economy is comatose.

In developed markets, banks performance largely correlates with the economy but the rent seeking nature of our banks no follow.

CBN is just doing their job rightfully as the regulator, It's also a way to curtail the high likelihood of FX demand and currency risk that comes with funding most of these acquisitions. Think about the contagion risk that would come with any of those offshore banks failing. Let those banks go and restructure their holdings ( Access Banks sits at the top of this table)

GloriousGbola.... How do you see this new recent CBN policy direction limiting banks foreign operations to 10% of total assets or capital based?

Why this strangulation on foreign expansion especially when they just mostly concluded the recapitalisation campaign. The tier one banks now have commensurate capital base to support their overall operations and foreign appetites.

Thinking about it now I remember how I read few months ago Access Bank had to drop a deal after having an agreement to buy a major South African Bank and meeting the SA regulatory requirements with all the approvals received. All but official, just waiting for the Nigerian regulator to assent to it, only for CBN to scuttle the deal by not giving approval for months.

They had to cancel the acquisition after CBN was dragging it's feet I giving approval.

So now CBN is saying all those massive acquisitions run and expansion Access Bank was doing across Africa, they now have to divest those investments? Omo, after all the money and energy spent? Some of Access Bank acquisitions haven't even completed a year. undecided
Can I see the circular on the bolded?

Think you mean shareholders funds not total asset.

Although this was to be expected given the recent recapitalization exercise.

Nigerian banks are probably doing all within their powers to deprioritse domestic lending. Now they want to go M&A route. The limit is in order by the CBN

Anyways, good thing Everton didn't lose eventually Sha cos that penalty call would've taken the headline.
Omo, I don dey see Arsenal everywhere. This hating business truly is dark

Yeah, I meant Everton. The penalty call would have been so soft, the ball didnt even get to where silva was.

Just out of curiosity,

Why do you call him a CFA?, Is that an actual title? Think you mean CFO though.

BTW, I think all these plenty runs or intense fitness activity gets to the point of diminishing returns. Read somewhere sometime back that any fitness activity beyond 4 hours a week do not provide any additional health or cardiovascular benefits and may even become a -ve though. Well, maybe i'm just a hater.

Thanks.

Just watched it now and your boy put up a good one. Oau will most likely win it now

At least he relaxed a bit on pressing the buzzer when not sure and that was what killed the UI guys in the second and third quarter. They fell for the speed thing too, despite points being deducted for every wrong answer.

Imagine getting -10 and -70 points despite getting some questions right, means they were better off not answering any questions at all.

If I were part of the organizers of the show, beyond leaderboard in player points, I would also track and reward players with the most efficiency too

His tactics seemed to be working. He isn't the only one returning but his speed and accuracy is beyond others

Have you seen the results vs other competitors? As in the gap he gave them every time they met especially in 1v1

Even his competitors said he was just blowing them out

I got curious and watched a couple of the vidoes on their youtube page, that's how I came to my conclusions.

Again not to be a debbie downer, the other candidates were relatively weak and didnt even get close to 35% of their questions right.

I just thought he had a lot of breathing room and could be afforded some of the mistakes he was making especially as you could tell he knew the answer but got them wrong due to speed.

I still think he's too raw and untrained for this sort of competition, The first thing they train you on in Mental Maths is accuracy, then speed (which he's a natural at but not with the volumes he's getting wrong). There used to be a similar competition from back in the day called Zain Africa Challenge, Watch the contestants there and compare with him maybe you'll see my point

Yes, it's working for him but in a more competitive environment, he will be punished for those errors

i don follow am sharp sharp.
The guy’s brain is like a cheat code. He single-handedly won the challenge for his school. The others are brilliant too, but the competition is wasn’t just about beinh brilliant alone,it was about speed and promptness and to get the right answer, and that is where he stand out .
Not to be a debbie downer, but I did have some reservations about the guy, He seemed to prioritize speed and made lots of mistakes even in his responses which you can tell he knew but was too hasty.

Also this is is second year according to the show, so he should be less raw. A calmer math prodigy would have easily taken him out of the competition.

But yeah, he can be trained and refined. He's a natural at the end of the day
