Jobs/VacanciesRe: Scholarship Opportunities by user86666(m): 7:19pm On Apr 10, 2007
Caveat! I'm suspicious of that foundation for the ff reasons:
[li]Their featured program is only for Nigerians[/li]
[li]The non-refundable N6500 fee, which genuine scholarship body collects a fee?
plus theyre based in the UK and are asking for Naira?[/li]
[li]Their UK address seems dodgy, did a search on 8 Holly Cottage Mews, its a semi-detached, residential building[/li]
[li]Called their number, ringing no reply, no voicemail and they claim their phone lines are extremely busy![/li]
Overall, don't be fooled by the website people (it looks good), it looks a well planned scam

We're 5 boys men, all tall and people say we're fine and look alike. We're a bunch of pragmatic, more action; less talk kind of men, understand we had no sisters to worry about.
Forget it ladies, we're all married. . . well. . . except me wink   cool

RomanceRe: Is It Good To Date Your Friend? by user86666(m): 9:47am On Apr 10, 2007
Absolutely! Back in school, I was simply friends with a certain girl for about 2+ years before a relationship broke out between us and it wasnt pre-meditated at all. The relationship was fantastic! The understanding was super and the compatibility was near-perfect. The r/ship started growing from day 1 cos we had the basic rapport and understanding issues under the belt already. Though its been over for 2+ years now, it lasted a 5 blissful years and we're still friends! (we talked yesterday).

If a foundation of friendship exists before the bricks of love are laid on, it acts as a cushion when the love is tested or strained.

Therefore Ive found it difficult to enter relationships if I dont have the time to build a proper friendship with whoever it is, and with the status quo. . . God help me!

PoliticsRe: Elections In Nigeria: A Cynical Take! by user86666(m): 12:35pm On Apr 05, 2007
Seun a politician with good intentions cannot claim to have no corrupt friends or associations, but such a politician is different because he doesnt engage in corrupt practices notwithstanding surrounding influences.
Coleslove I like your post. Now who knows, maybe nairaland is nurturing Nigeria's redeemers. . . .theres hope afterall!

HealthRe: How Do I Quit Smoking! by user86666(m): 2:55pm On Mar 30, 2007
I stopped the habit last year after 11 years. It sure wasnt easy, even now I fight off the temptations every now and then but its easier to do so now than when I had just quit. I must confess I got Gods help because I knew I couldnt get off it on my own, I loved tobacco smoking and was hooked.

But I was determined to rescue my life from the pits of smoke, I battled it on and off for 3 months before quitting finally. In the run-up to finally quitting I used to focus my thoughts strongly on the disadvantages of the habit (I still do if the thot crosses my mind)viz:
[li]It was gradually destroying my health[/li]
[li]It was draining my finances (think how much u spend smoking monthly, multiply by 12, then multiply by number of years u been smoking. . . its scary!)[/li]
[li]It was damaging my social appearance (esp the smell)[/li]
[li]The habit itself had trapped me[/li]
[li]With time it had limited my associations, most of my friends were smokers and I thot non-smokers were slackers![/li]
and the advantages:
[li]NONE![/li]
Rescue your life from the enslaving grip of tobacco smoking pal. . .
what are you waiting for?  smiley

HealthRe: Legalize Cannabis by user86666(m): 4:33pm On Mar 29, 2007
The thread title reminds me of the Peter Tosh song

Legalize it - don't criticize it
Legalize it and I will advertise it

Some call it cannabis
Some call it the weed
Some call it Marijuana
Some of them call it Ganja

Legalize it - don't criticize it
Legalize it and I will advertise it

Singer smoke it
And players of instruments too
Legalize it, yeah, yeah
That's the best thing you can do
Doctors smoke it
Nurses smoke it
Judges smoke it
Even the lawyers too

Legalize it - don't criticize it
Legalize it and I will advertise it

It's good for the flu
It's good for asthma
Good for tuberculosis
Even umara composis

Legalize it - don't criticize it
Legalize it and I will advertise it

Bird eat it
And they love it
Fowls eat it
Goats love to play with it

What the heck is umara composis?
