Lens University PRAD Students Join Professionals To Celebrate World PR Day In Grand Style

On Thursday, July 16 2026, the students of Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) at Lens University Ilemona, Kwara State have joined professional public relations practitioners across the globe to celebrate the 2026 World Public Relations Day.

The celebration, which took place at the university's campus was facilitated and coordinated by a public relations expert, Dr. Mrs. Atinukemi Abbas and attended by the dean of the faculty, Chief Adebowale Adedeji; head of department of mass communication, Mr. Adebayo Adedimeji; the public relations officer, Mr. Nurudeen Muhammad; and other staff members of the faculty of communication and media studies.

While addressing the students, Dr. Mrs. Abbass highlighted the significance of the day, adding that every July 16 is set aside to celebrate the public relations professionals globally.

Being the first of its kind at Lens University, Dr. Abbass commended the students for their great commitment and active participation. She also noted that the initiative is aimed at building the reputation of the institution and showcased its interest in the field of public relations.

Also speaking, the Dean of the Faculty, Alhaji Adebowale Adedeji commended the students for turning out en masse to celebrate the day. He urged the students to embrace professionalism, effective writing skills and remain committed to the ethical standards while they pursue their careers in public relations. He further admonished the students to build a good reputation among other qualities of public relations practitioners.

Similarly, the Lens institutions' Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nurudeen Mohammed reiterated the importance of public relations in shaping perceptions, building mutual understanding, and strengthening relationships between organisations and their various publics.

He urged students to uphold the reputation of the institution by demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in their academic and future professional careers.

Mr. Nurudeen also advised the students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to real-life situations. He encouraged them to remain committed to continuous learning, master the principles of public relations, and strive for excellence as future communication professionals.

The highlight of the event featured the display of placards with public relations principles and practice by students as a symbol of celebration.

The inscriptions on the placards displayed by students and their presentations give more insight on the importance of public relations in building reputations and fostering effective communication, mutual understanding, and building strong relationships between organisations and its public.

The students in their separate remarks applauded the initiative, describing it as an educative and memorable celebration of World Public Relations Day, adding that the programme has strengthened their passion for the profession and encouraged them to contribute positively to the future of public relations.

ICCIMA Partners RMRDC To Train 25 Participants On Shea Butter Production In Agbaku Eji, Moro LGA

As part of its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, value addition, and employment creation in Ibololand, the Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), in collaboration with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), organised a One-Day Practical Skill Acquisition Workshop on Shea Butter Production on Saturday, 4th July, 2026.

The practical training was held at the RMRDC Demonstration Centre, Agbaku Eji, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, with twenty-five (25) participants drawn from different communities and entrepreneurs from other states in attendance.

The President of ICCIMA, Rev. Paul O. Olagunju, welcomed participants to the workshop and encouraged them to take the training serious with a determination to put to key into the shea butter value chain. Adding that it is an opportunity to add value to themselves through positive empowerment. He reiterated that the training is a continuation of ICCIMA’s Roadmap for Poverty Eradication and Wealth Creation in Ibolo land. Rev. Olagunju explained that ICCIMA has continued to engage government agencies, development partners, and private sector organisations to attract programmes and investments that will benefit local entrepreneurs, farmers, artisans, and small business owners. He noted that the partnership with RMRDC is one of the Chamber's efforts to empower residents with practical skills capable of generating sustainable income.

The Kwara State Coordinator of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Mrs. Lydia Adewumi, introduced participants to the economic importance of the shea tree and its seeds, highlighting the enormous opportunities available in the shea butter value chain for both local and export markets. She also introduced the participants to the various processing machines available at the Demonstration Centre and explained their functions in modern shea butter production.

The training featured practical demonstrations covering every stage of the production process. Participants were taken through the crushing of dried shea seeds using the crusher, followed by drying for several hours before grinding. The processed material was then allowed to cool before milling into a fine paste. The paste was subsequently kneaded thoroughly and transferred into a cooking pot, where the shea butter was extracted through controlled heating and processing until the finished product was obtained.

Throughout the practical session, participants had the opportunity to operate the processing equipment under the supervision of RMRDC technical officers, giving them hands-on experience in the production of high-quality shea butter.

The workshop demonstrated the shared commitment of ICCIMA and RMRDC to promoting local raw material development, entrepreneurship, women and youth empowerment, and sustainable economic development in Kwara State. The collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to job creation, value addition, and the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises within Ibolo land.

Birthday Tribute to Otun Aare Atobase of Offa, Alhaji Chief Adebowale Adedeji

A birthday is a special day, a day of joy, merriness, and a day to reminisce on the past and evaluate it with what the future has in store. It is one of the days people know their worth and value in the minds of others through wishes, messages, gifts, and many lots. Since morning, Otun Aare Atobase of Offa, Forme General Manager of Radio Kwara, Alhaji Chief Adebowale Adedeji's inbox would have been flooded with birthday greetings from beloved ones, friends, families, colleagues, and well-wishers. What a glamorous day.

Kindness can be inborn, hereditary, or imbibed. Alhaji Adedeji's kindness and philanthropic nature are a reflection of his family background. His kindness is hereditary, inborn, and imbibed. His magnificent trait is a mixture of moral values, distinctive integrity, a charismatic personality, and refined respect for all. His uniqueness is wrapped in his mild and calm way of life.

I have met with people of different characters and personalities. For Alhaji Adedeji, he has a large heart that accommodates all, and he treats people with the utmost respect. He represents virtue. Aare Atobase is not a man who is full of himself; his humility is rare and one of a kind.


Maya Angelou, in a classical quote, says, “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver." The witty words from a great poetess describe the benefit of giving as one that liberates the soul of the giver. Simply put, among those whose souls are liberated is Chief Adedeji.

As rightly said by Anne Frank, no one has ever become poor from giving. Otun Aare believes in giving. He derives pleasure from putting smiles on people' faces, and through his charity and leadership, his name echoes in our hearts at Lens University and Lens Polytechnic.

Allah says in the Holy Quran that those who spend charitably from what He has provided for them will have a reserved place in paradise; to buttress this, those martyrs who were given the certificates to paradise right from their lifetime. Those martyrs remain alive. They are in different localities assisting people and giving hope to the hopeless.

Otun Aare Adebowale Adedeji, no doubt, is one of the rare gems on earth whose existence remains a blessing to mankind, to their family, and to their immediate community. His love and passion for humanity remain indefatigable.

Offa is blessed with notable, illustrious sons and daughters making waves in different fields of endeavor across the globe. Chief Adedeji is one of these numerous numbers of fulfilled Offa sons who carved his niche and excelled in advertising; his expertise is a template to be followed and emulated in the media realm. He is a consistent personality in the delivery of promises. He is one of the heroes who found their way into the pages of history as a subject.

Beyond his professional sojourn, he is a teacher who curates and molds future leaders at Lens Institutions as the Dean of the Faculty of communication and Media Studies. Today, a great man is a year plus, wishing him long life, sound health, and more prosperous years ahead.

Lens University Students Shine at NLA Inter-School Competition, Emerge 2nd Runner-up Position

The 200-level Library and Information Science students of Lens University Ilemona have emerged as the 2nd runner-up of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) Kwara State Chapter inter-school competition in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.

The second edition of the competition held at the National Library of Nigeria, Ilorin, featured Kwara State University, Malete; Lens University Ilemona; Lens Polytechnic Offa; Federal Polytechnic Offa; and Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin.

The keenly contested competition covered key areas of librarianship, including reference services, organisation of knowledge, research methodology, legal issues and intellectual properties.

While announcing the results, the Chairman, NLA Kwara State Chapter, Dr. Bello Abdullateef congratulated all the institutions for participating in the competition. He commended the dedication and commitment of the students and encouraged them to continue to strive for greater heights in knowledge and scholarship.

Also speaking, the Financial Secretary of the Association, Mr. Mahmoud S. Olaitan on behalf of the association, appreciated the Proprietor of Lens Institutions, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA, for his consistent support for the association.

In his reaction, the proprietor applauded the students for representing the university in the competition and taking the second runner-up position.

According to him, "On behalf of the management, I commend the students for making the university proud. It is their first time, and they took third position. We consider this a great feat because it shows the level of our competence and quality education we give to our students at Lens Institutions."

On his part, the institution's librarian, Mr. Ahmad Sheriff Banuso, appreciated the management for the full support and for encouraging the department to do better. He applauded the students for being good ambassadors of the institutions.

In his note of appreciation, the Head of Department of Library and Information and Public Relations Officer of NLA, Kwara Chapter, Mr. Dere Abiodun thanked the Proprietor, the Rector, and the leadership of the department. He commended the students' conduct, diligence, and sense of responsibility.

“ Through your performance, and engagement, you have demonstrated the quality training and academic values upheld by the institutions. You have represented the department and the institution with distinction, and your efforts are worthy of recognition," he stated.

BREAKING: NUC Approves Law, Pharmacy, 10 other Programmes For Lens University Ilemona After Resource Inspection


Following the resource inspection by the National Universities Commission team on Saturday May 9 2026, the NUC has approved all the additional twelve (12) academic programmes for Lens University Ilemona.

This was contained in a letter of approval dated 16th June 2026 and signed by the Director of Academic Planning of NUC, Abubakar M. Girei.

The letter reads in part, " I am directed to inform the Vice Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of the full time mode of the following programmes to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.

Reacting to the approval, the Proprietors applauded the Federal Government for expanding the University education in Nigeria through the National Universities Commission. The Proprietors added that Lens University will continue to uphold the University mandate to further contribute to the national growth and development.

Offa LG Legislative Council Promises To Make It Law For Proper Cultural Preservation, Commends Founder, Prince Salako Lukman

The Speaker of the Offa Local Government Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Mustapha Olawale Sharafa (Sharon), has adopted and domesticated the Yoruba Wikipedia Fan Club Offa Digital Heritage Initiative, describing it as a commendable effort aimed at preserving the cultural heritage and history of Offa for future generations.

The event, which took place on Friday, June 13, 2026, at Hengee Resort, Offa, brought together stakeholders, trainees and advocates of digital knowledge preservation.

Speaking during the programme, the founder of Yoruba Wikipedia Fan Club Offa, Prince Salako Lukman Olamilekan explained the vision behind the initiative and its importance to the preservation of indigenous knowledge.

According to him, "the project is designed to preserve local history and culture, increase the global visibility of Offa, provide future generations with access to valuable heritage materials and promote open knowledge through Wikimedia platforms."

Salako noted that although the initiative started in Offa, it has the potential to spread across Kwara State and eventually become a nationally recognised project.

He highlighted some of the achievements recorded so far, including the establishment of the Yoruba Wikipedia Fan Club Offa, the training of over 160 editors with 48 active contributors retained, and the documentation of several Offa-related topics such as festivals, notable personalities and institutions. He added that contributors have also expanded their efforts to support Yoruba language development and African knowledge representation on Wikimedia platforms.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Sharafa praised the initiative for its focus on cultural preservation and pledged the support of the legislative arm of the local government.

"I love the aspect of preserving our cultural heritage and creating a platform through which our culture can be showcased to the world," the Speaker said.

He further encouraged the promoters of the initiative to present a bill to the legislative council for consideration, assuring them of the council's willingness to provide the necessary legal backing for its activities.

"I will urge you to bring it as a bill to our chamber so that we can work on it and give it a solid legal foundation. I assure you of our support as we work together to promote and preserve our heritage," he added.

During the training session, Omokanye Yusuf Agbolahan took participants through the processes involved in contributing to the project and encouraged them to join the growing community committed to digitising and preserving Yoruba culture.

Speaking afterwards, Salako appreciated the Speaker for embracing the initiative and also commended the administration of Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun for its support towards programmes that promote education, culture and community development.

Certificates and incentives were later presented to participants who successfully completed the training.

As part of the initiative, profiles of notable Offa personalities and cultural subjects have been documented and made accessible through QR codes. They include:

Lagos-Based Cybersecurity Expert, Coy Emerald Pays Courtesy Visit To DG NITDA

Lagos-based cybersecurity expert and ethical hacker, Yunus Oyetunde popularly known as Coy Emerald has paid a courtesy visit to the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA Nigeria, Hon. Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.

The cybersecurity guru paid a visit to DG's office on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, to present an autographed copy of his recent book titled The Unwritten Curriculum.

According to him, “It was truly reassuring to meet him again after relocating to Lagos State a few years ago. And as always, I remain deeply grateful for his leadership style and unwavering dedication to promoting digital literacy and indigenous talent across our nation, Nigeria".

Kiama Massacre: The Killers Are Not Monsters

My heart is heavy, and my eyes are laden with tears. The recent gory scene in Kwara North cannot be narrated as a tale or folklore; it goes beyond that. What the eyes see, the mouth cannot tell. The carnage was alarming; from the footage and clips on the internet, the evil men had turned Woro community in Kiama Local Government into debris.

The insecurity in Nigeria has become turn-by-turn. No state can be boastful of peace over another. Kwara State is not what it used to be, from the state of harmony to the state of agony. One of the most peaceful states is currently sharing its own national cake of security failure in waves and sad rhythms of pains and pangs.

From the far north to the north-central zone. The bandits are still on transits evading regions and wreaking havoc without retreat. The Kwara killings are no longer in scanty figures, not one, two, or five. It is in odd numbers, happening intermittently in the northern and southern parts of Kwara State.

For the Woro community, the exact figure of victims is still hazy, from seventy, over one hundred to over two hundred. To me, even if it is one, all lives matter. The solution is not in quoting figures of shame.

Out of the three senatorial districts in Kwara State, two are already danger zones. Traveling to Kwara North or some part of Kwara South is equivalent to journeying to a danger zone. Many citizens have deserted their home, not for greener pastures but for safety. How did we get here? No one knows, not even the government.

For the first time after COVID-19, the Kwara State Government in November 2025 ordered the immediate closure of schools in Ifelodun, Ekiti, Irepodun, Isin and Oke Ero local government areas for security reasons. The schools have just been reopened in the midst of pervasive threat.

Recently, the Osun State Government has raised alarm after the carnage scene in Kwara. Governor Adeleke knows his neighbor is sleepless, and he also needs not to sleep with two eyes closed.

No sane government will be happy with the level of incendiary, mass burial and gruesome killings. The state government's forest guards deployed to different local governments are a good initiative and commendable. The aggressive approach of the bandits with sophisticated weapons is like an elephant skull, not something a child can toy with. Kwara State requires a heavy security presence beyond forest guards.

Lens Polytechnic Offa, one of the best private polytechnics in Nigeria, recently held an awareness campaign reinforcing security consciousness. The campaign messages resonate with our current experience. The security is everybody's business. Government has major roles to play, and citizens have the role of raising alarm about strange movement or gathering.

Beyond press releases, condemnation, and condolence visits, the government needs to intensify efforts. The killers are not monsters; they can be hunted and tamed. May Kwara Government succeed; may departed souls find solace in the Lord!

Commentary: The Bitter Truth Wike Fails To Understand

The situation in Rivers State is getting messier with the series of tirades and intermittent explosive salvos between the Godfather, Hon. Minister Nyesom Wike; his godson, Governor Fubara; and the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru.

The event in Rivers State is another role godfathers play in politics and development. Politics of godfatherism and mentorship is still pervasive in modern democracy and contributing to the lowliest of the low progress we are experiencing as a country.

Like Wike and Fubara, many political godfathers and godsons have departed based on conflict of interest. Governor Oshiomole and Obaseki of Edo State parted ways. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, parted ways with his godson, Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom. Former Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola parted ways with Governor Oyetola. How many of Adepele's multiple and interlocked teeth could be counted in the political corridor where the godfathers' interests clashed with their godsons.?

Like the general mantra, there is no permanent friend or permanent enemy in politics, only permanent interest. Once the interests clash, a crisis is inevitable, and that's undoubtedly the case in Rivers State. Wike's interest is no longer on the same page with his godson.

As a matter of fact, no one can downplay the role of Wike in installing Fubara, his trusted ally, as a governor. Political godfathers, after tasting power love to install someone they can control and manipulate. Godfathers love to remain relevant; they want to remain at the corridor of power rather than being relegated. The godsons, on the other hand, always wish to be in charge as the number one citizen with constituted authority. The godson, regardless of who the godfather is, always wants to be regarded as the number one citizen to take decisions without influence. This is where the crisis always set in. The godfather wants the godson to obey unconstitutional rules, while the godson sees himself as the constituted authority.

In the world of Abraham Lincoln, if you want to know a man's character, give him power. Power is powerful and intoxicating, and that's why the political actors find it difficult to vacate offices. Wike, in all ramifications, has enjoyed the large share from the present administration, a rare privilege for the opposition to hold a key position in the ruling party. Wike enjoys the cabinet more than the real APC members.

Wike's strength is in Rivers State, and that's why, certainly, he wants to remain relevant. If Wike loses his electoral value in Rivers State, he will amount to nothing in the FCT and Tinubu's cabinet. Wike understands this and strives hard to maintain his tempo.

The bitter truth Wike fails to understand is the fact that Fubara has outsmarted him and reduced his influence by decamping to the ruling party ahead of Wike. Wike has overplayed his godfather role, portraying himself as the alpha and omega of Rivers politics while in the opposition party. Now, Fubara leads the ruling party in Rivers, while Wike is not even a member. If Wike decides to join the ruling party, he will be welcomed by Fubara and regard Fubara as the leader of the party. The APC constitution is clear on the hierarchy at the state level. Whether Wike likes it or not, Fubara is the leader of the ruling party in Rivers. The reality Wike is not ready to embrace.

Emphatically, the APC will give due regard to its party member and give him his due honor. Wike has played his part by influencing the state of emergency for six months. It is time for Fubara to play his part as the leader of the ruling party in the state.

Obviously, the 2027 election is more or less like a walkover for the ruling party. Wike has enjoyed his G-5 era. No G-5 is needed to win the 2027 election. Wike needs to tread softly if he is not ready to be dumped. Tell Wike to observe the table manners: you don't talk while eating, or else the APC will put him in his place.

Beyond Trump's Threat Message- ll

Initially, my thought was that the security architecture has been upscaled and the men at the frontline are winning the war which I linked to Trump's effect, things got exacerbated and the recuperating security relapses.

For the past few weeks, the country seems like hell, hot and belching rage orchestrated by the armed bandits. The series of attack across the country will make one to ponder if at all blood flows in the veins of the terrorists. The wickedness is to loud, sounding the gong of pain and agony. The center cannot hold and falcons ear not the falconers. The evil men are taking over.

Once again, the Trump's sent another tweet, this time not a threat but outright right off the entire country. He wrote: “I think Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace. They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide. And I’m really angry about it. And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidy to Nigeria which we’re going to end up stopping."

Trump's message is loud and clear, visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. The spate of killing is alarming and call for concern and reflection. What I do not align with is Trump's peculiarity to killings, the killers know no religion, region or tribe, like winter snow, they are everywhere cascading down our rivers of hope.

Only in November, Brigadier General Uba and three of his men abducted and publicly executed by Islamist terrorists , 64 civilians, including women and children, abducted in Tsafe LGA Zamfara state by Islamist terrorists.

Also in November, 25 female students and their Principal abducted from a school in Maga, Kebbi State by Islamist terrorists whilst their Vice Principal was killed, 38 worshippers were abducted from a Church in Eruku while three were murdered.

Furthermore, 8 members of the Civilian Task Force killed and three abducted by Islamist terrorists in Gwoza, Borno State. 15 people abducted, including 4 nursing mothers and babies, and two killed in Sabon Birni, Sokoto state by Islamist terrorists.

Also in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, 4 rice farmers killed in an attack by Islamist terrorists while 303 students abducted in a Catholic school in Agwara, Niger State today.

The record of horrendous attack highlighted above happened within one week in November 2025 across the country. Of course, it is a good news that some abducted victims have been freed but what happen to the dead?

When the government issue a release to announce how certain victims regained freedom from captivity and fail to give account of their engagement with the captors. Were they killed, arrested or freed? Nigeria can't claim to be fighting terrorism by rubbing the terrorists' back with peace talks and negotiation in exchange of the victims. Many of the actions of government in handling banditry and terrorism have given birth to threat like message and derogatory tweets from the international community.

Definitely, the President has made a serious moves by withdrawing the policemen from the VIPs and gave order to service chiefs to intensify efforts. More needs to be done to tame the evil tide. The government should look beyond Trump's messages and take the war against terrorism more serious than peace talks. Donald Trump was right about mass killings. With no peculiarity, all lives matter. Beyond Trump's Threat Message- I

On October 31 2025, Nigerians woke up to read a tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter made by the United States President, Donald Trump on the constant incendiary, killings, and maiming of Christians in Nigeria. Donald Trump announced the redesignation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) for severe violations of religious freedom. The next day, in a follow-up social media post, Trump threatened military action against Nigeria, as well as a full cutoff of US aid to the country, if its government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”


The message stirred up heated arguments, debates, and contrary views and opinions regarding the tweet capable of tearing the country apart. From all the geopolitical zones, it was a mixed feeling, a solace vs. fear.

I need not to join the bandwagon of netizens accusing Trump of coming down to lord over the resources. The idea of linking the tweet to natural resources by some commentators was too primitive and primordial. Nigeria is a sovereign nation, and the era of the slave trade has come and gone.

Regardless of Trump's motive, this time around, the United States President got it wrong by tagging killings in Nigeria as a genocide against Christians. Of course, thousands of Muslims have been killed, maimed, destroyed and myriad still awaiting burial installments, internally displaced.

Absolutely, there is more to Trump's threat message, which is obviously beyond the protection of Christians. No sane Nigerian will celebrate this as an egress to 'catastrophal' incendiarism happening intermittently across regions. It appears more like fanning the ember of discord among religious groups in Nigeria to secure a soft landing for evasion.

As a matter of fact, no sovereign nation will stand akimbo and watch this heightened level of temerity undermine the peaceful coexistence of its territory. As Nigerians, this is not the right time to play the blame game. Definitely, Nigeria is facing security challenges, but it has no peculiarity.


In recent times, it has been observed that the fear of Trump is the beginning of security beefing up in Nigeria. Prior to Trump's threat, the Nigerian government seemed to pay deaf ears to the hue and cry of the citizens living under heavy security threats. What Nigerians are used to after a horrendous and terrifying experience in the hands of bandits is a note of condemnation of the attack and, in rare instances, courtesy visits. The government fights with press releases to condemn the attack and later attends peace talks with the attackers.

One of the advantages of Trump's threat is putting the government on its toes to take more action on security challenges; the activities of the Nigerian troops have been intensified with aggressive attacks on the bandits.

On November 9, 2025, the troops of Operation Hadin Kai Joint Task Force of the North-East rescued 86 kidnapped victims and destroyed a major Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in a decisive operation in the Buratai–Kamuya axis of Borno State.

Also on November 12, 2025, soldiers of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) killed one suspected bandit and recovered a large cache of arms during a raid on a criminals’ hideout in the Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

On 16 November 2026, the Nigerian Army airlifted 348 personnel into and out of the Operation Hadin Kai theatre in the second Chief of Army Staff Welfare Flight for November.

From all indications, troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN, have intensified operations across the country, neutralizing scores of terrorists, rescuing 67 kidnapped victims, and arresting 94 criminal suspects in two weeks. The Nigerian troops are more assertive and aggressive in the fights against terrorists. The Trump's effect has reinforced more action, more efforts from all the stakeholders.

Yes! Until governments begin to take bold decisions to execute terrorists, the international community will never take the fights against terrorism and banditry seriously.

Beyond Trump's threat message, the government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the responsibility to protect the lives and properties of every citizen. Whether Christian or Muslim, all lives matter. Like the military slogan, Victory only from God. May our troops continue to be victorious.

ICCIMA Signs MoU With Lower Niger River Basin Ilorin For Modern Agriculture, Community Development

Secures 60 Hectares of Land in Ojoku


The Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lower Niger River Basin, Ilorin, on the lease of agricultural land in Ojoku, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State for modern agriculture and community development.

The ICCIMA representatives, Mr. Abdulrauf Olabode, Mr. Wole Alawode and Engr. Rafiu Brown was received in Ilorin by the Executive Director of Agric Services, Hon. Abdullahi Sodiq on Friday, 7 November 2025.

In his address, the President of ICCIMA, Reverend Paul Olagunju represented by Mr. Abdulrauf Olabode described the signing of the MoU as a landmark achievement for the chamber. He noted that the Chamber embarked on a mission of accessing farmland for the use of ICCIMA members in Ibolo communities and expressed gratitude to the authority of the Lower Niger River Basin for making the Chamber's efforts a reality.

According to him, “ I sincerely appreciate the Lower Niger River Basin for partnering with ICCIMA on the journey by releasing farmland on lease to ICCIMA to ensure a farmer-centered agricultural development program and to provide a needed enabling environment and encouragement for farmers."

While soliciting more 100 hectares of land for the members, he stressed the Chamber's mission, which includes creating opportunities for growth, investment, and prosperity within Ibolo-speaking communities of Kwara State.

“Our partnership aligns perfectly with our shared vision of transforming Ibolo land into a hub of modern agribusiness, job creation and economic advancement. This project will not only boost production but will also reduce poverty and empower youths and women with meaningful employment opportunities," he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the MD, Engr. Olumoroti Judge Olushola represented by the Executive Director of Agric Services, Hon. Abdullahi Sodiq lauded ICCIMA's initiative of signing the memorandum with the Lower Niger River Basin for agriculture and community development. He commended the leadership of the Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture for striving continuously to enhance growth and sustainable development in Ibolo land.

“When we see partners who strive hard to continuously be in business, most especially in agriculture, we are always delighted. We commend you for coming on board to sign this Memorandum of Understanding, and we equally appreciate you for doing what you know how to do best. This is just the beginning of good things to come between us,” he stated.

Other staff members of the Lower Niger River Basin present were Director of Legal, Barr. Bello Sadiq, Director of Agric Services, Alhaji Moronfoye M.O, Deputy Directors of Agric Services, Mallam Yahyah Muhammed, Mr. Idris Toyin Bolaji and Mr. Lawal Ibrahim.

LENS Polytechnic Offa Appoints Dr. (Mrs) Mulikat Bola Aliyu as New Rector

The Governing Council and Board of Directors of LENS Polytechnic, Offa, has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs) Mulikat Bola Aliyu as the new Rector of the institution. This significant appointment was officially pronounced on Friday, September 12, 2025, and will take effect from September 29, 2025, for a single tenure of five (5) years.

Dr. (Mrs) Aliyu brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as the immediate past Deputy Rector (Academics) at the Federal Polytechnic Offa. Her tenure there was marked by outstanding service, characterized by excellent records and numerous accolades.

Equipped with substantial academic, professional, and administrative expertise, Dr. Aliyu is poised to leverage her extensive knowledge and leadership abilities at LENS Polytechnic. The Governing Council is confident that her leadership will enhance the Polytechnic’s core values of Skills, Knowledge, and Ethics, while positioning the institution among the leading polytechnics in Nigeria.

Dr. Aliyu has an impressive career trajectory as both a professional and academic librarian, having held various positions including Head of Department, Dean of the Centre for Continued Education, and Deputy Rector (Academics) at the Federal Polytechnic Offa. She is a professional member of several esteemed organizations, including the Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN), the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), and the Nigerian Librarian Association, Kwara State chapter, among others. Additionally, she is a Fellow at the Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMD).

Her academic contributions include numerous publications, comprising journals, seminars, and textbooks. Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. (Mrs) Aliyu has also made notable contributions to her community, serving as the National Treasurer of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) and participating in various local initiatives, including the commissioning of the MOPOl Barracks in Offa.

ENGR. DR. KAMORU OLUWATOYIN KADIRI: TWO AND A HALF YEARS OF INNOVATION AND TRANSFORMATION AT FEDPOFFA

Leadership, at its finest, is measured not merely by occupying a position of authority, but by leaving indelible footprints that inspire hope, transform communities, and redefine the future. At the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, such a narrative has been unfolding under the dynamic stewardship of Engr. Dr. Kamarudeen Oluwatoyin Kadiri, whose two and a half years as Rector have become a golden era of innovation, research breakthroughs, and institutional transformation.

A man of many firsts, Dr. Kadiri is not only a scholar and seasoned administrator but also a proven innovator who holds three patent rights duly certified by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. His passion for practical solutions and his restless pursuit of ideas that solve real human challenges gave birth to remarkable inventions, among which are the celebrated Okin electric vehicle, motorcycle, and bicycle pioneering efforts that have placed FEDPOFFA on the national and global map of polytechnics that are research-driven.

Infrastructural development has been one of the visible hallmarks of this administration. Within just two and a half years, new workshops, classrooms, and laboratories have sprung up, giving life to academic departments that had yearned for befitting structures. The Department of Food Science and Technology now boasts of a new workshop bakery, while the School of Engineering Technology is blessed with a modern laboratory building fully furnished under TETFUND intervention. At both the mini and permanent campuses, ICT buildings have been rehabilitated, while internal roads have received deserved attention, making movement within the campus smooth and appealing.

The transformation drive has also touched the School of Communication and Media Studies, where complete repairs and renovation works are currently ongoing. This facelift, coming at a time the Polytechnic is investing heavily in its future, is complemented by a ₦300 million investment in the purchase of accreditation materials, modern equipment, and teaching resources across departments. This bold expenditure underscores the Rector’s commitment to meeting and surpassing accreditation requirements while raising the standard of learning and instruction.

But Dr. Kadiri’s vision goes beyond bricks and mortar. He understands that a 21st-century polytechnic must be defined by its collaborations and industrial linkages. It is no surprise therefore that FEDPOFFA was handpicked as the only polytechnic in Nigeria to partner in the Nigeria–Czech Republic Joint Research and Development Project Fund. Locally, the institution has also cemented ties with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion, and Summit University, all in a bid to foster cutting-edge research and development.

The Rector has also repositioned the Polytechnic as a hub for the production of essential commodities. From the establishment of a modern bakery producing the now-famous Fedpoffa Bread, a brand that has spread beyond Offa into Ilorin and Osun State—to the production of sachet and bottled water certified by NAFDAC, the Polytechnic has demonstrated the practicality of its entrepreneurial mandate. These ventures not only serve the community but also create an avenue for training students in real-life business models.

Dr. Kadiri has always maintained that people are the heart of any institution. This conviction is evident in the way he has placed premium value on staff welfare, student empowerment, and technological advancement. The Polytechnic Public Relations Unit is now equipped with modern ICT gadgets to meet the demands of a fast-paced digital age. A calligraphy machine has been installed for the printing of students’ certificates, ensuring authenticity and aesthetic quality. Departments like Building Technology now benefit from specialized equipment such as a five-in-one wood lathe machine, further enriching practical training for students.

Academically, the unbundling of schools has opened new horizons. The School of Applied Sciences and Technology, Mass Communication, and Business and Management Studies have been reorganized to create new departments, offering students greater academic focus and specialization. The Entrepreneurial Development Centre has also been repositioned, while a Skills Development Centre has been established to groom students, artisans, and members of the public in practical small-scale enterprises. With the Skill Acquisition and Innovation Training Centre, the Polytechnic now serves as a beacon of hope to the wider community.

Beyond academics and entrepreneurship, the Rector has secured a place of pride for the Polytechnic in the world of sports and intellectual engagement. The hosting of the 2024 Nigerian Polytechnics Games (NIPOGA) was a monumental success, hailed as the most colorful and well-organized in history. The event left behind world-class sports facilities and earned FEDPOFFA the status of a National Sports Centre with membership in the country’s sports development structure.

On the intellectual stage, FEDPOFFA under Dr. Kadiri was recognized at the prestigious Management Development Institute of Singapore, where the Rector received a meritorious award for scholarly brilliance, solution-driven insights, and intellectual leadership during an international panel discussion. In the digital space, the Polytechnic has expanded fibre optic connections and installed Wi-Fi across its campuses, ensuring uninterrupted internet access that supports both teaching and research.

The institution has also gained recognition as a CBT examination centre by the West African Examinations Council and secured approval from the National Board for Technical Education to commence Open Distance and Flexible E-Learning, further proof of its growing relevance and adaptability.

It must be emphasized that these achievements were not made in isolation. They are the result of a collective spirit of dedication and unity within the FEDPOFFA family. The Governing Council, the Principal Officers, the Deputy Rectors for Administration and Academic Affairs, the Registrar, the Bursar, the Polytechnic Librarian, the Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and the Unions;ASUP, SSANIP, NASU, NOTSU have all played pivotal roles. The general staff body and the Student Union Government, alongside the entire student community, have provided overwhelming support and cooperation. Together, they have made the Rector’s vision a living reality.

As FEDPOFFA marks the mid-point of Dr. Kadiri’s tenure, the verdict is resounding and unmistakable: this Rector is a rare gift to the Polytechnic, a reformer who matches vision with action, a leader who is building a legacy that will endure for generations.

Fedpoly Offa clears air on council meeting, faults industrial unrest report

The management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has trashed the report published in some online blogs raising tension of industrial unrest in the Polytechnic over the recent council meeting held in Lagos.

The management in a release signed by the Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Iroye on Friday 8 August 2025 described the report as misleading, sensational and capable of raising unnecessary tension in the Polytechnic.

The report reads in full:

The attention of the Management of The Federal Polytechnic, Offa has been drawn to a news report published in some online platforms alleging a looming wave of industrial unrest at the institution following the recent Governing Council committee meeting held in Lagos."

"The Management wishes to categorically state that the claims made in the publication are not only misleading but also capable of creating unnecessary tension and misinforming the public. Contrary to the impression created by the report, there is no industrial unrest at the Polytechnic. The campus environment remains peaceful and conducive for academic and administrative activities, with both staff and students going about their duties unhindered."

"In addressing the issue of the location of the recent meeting, it is important to clarify the following:

"The meeting referred to in the report was not a full Governing Council session, but a committee meeting of the Council, which can lawfully and practically be convened outside the Polytechnic when circumstances so demand.

"At the time the meeting was scheduled, the Chairman of the Governing Council was not in strong physical health to undertake long-distance travel to Offa. Holding the meeting in Lagos, his base was therefore a pragmatic decision to accommodate his health condition and ensure the continuity of critical Council committee functions.

"The choice of Lagos was also made in view of cost-efficiency and logistics. Some Council committee members, especially those coming from the North-West region (e.g., Kano), found it more convenient and less expensive to fly directly to Lagos, rather than taking multiple flights to Ilorin and traveling by road to Offa. This saved time, reduced fatigue, and minimized expenses."

"It is also necessary to note that this is not the first time such meetings are being held outside the Polytechnic premises. There have been similar instances during the tenure of previous Councils. The Polytechnic law does not prohibit Council or its committees from convening outside the campus when necessary.

The location of any Council meeting does not in any way influence or compromise the integrity of decisions made. Resolutions are always guided by due process, the interest of the institution, and the welfare of its staff and students.

"Management believes the concerns raised by the Union could have been better addressed through internal mechanisms of dialogue and engagement, which remain open and respected within the Polytechnic system.

"Management wishes to urge bloggers to verify and balance their reports by seeking the Polytechnic’s side before publication. Misinformation, sensationalism, or partial reporting serves no one and only seeks to stoke unnecessary discord."

"The Management remains committed to promoting industrial harmony, transparency, and development in all its operations and therefore appeals to all stakeholders, including the media, to join hands in preserving the peace and progress of The Federal Polytechnic, Offa."

FEDPOFFA: A Sightseeing of Development Under Rector, Kadiri Kamoru (2)

Like a traveller searching for treasure, I proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic Offa permanent site along Ojoku. The transformation I witnessed at the mini campus has influenced my decision to visit the permanent site. My first encounter with the security was amazing as the young man gave me the pass, I asked when the Polytechnic began to give passes at the entry level, and the man said, “ our new Rector is innovative." It's part of his initiative at the security unit, among other notable interventions. Least of wonders, I smiled and drove in. A short distance from the gate, I saw a signpost for an indoor sports hall. I visited the hall to check the facility used for NIPOGA games. I cannot help but commend the Rector for the level of development of the sports facilities in the indoor sports hall. From what I observed, it is the biggest and one of the best in Nigerian tertiary institutions. My Alma Mater has really transformed under the 5th substantive Rector.

I left the indoor sports to complete my tour. I went straight to my Department, Mass Communication, to at least say hello to my lecturers. On getting to the department, I was informed the lecturers now have their offices somewhere adjacent to the department. Furthermore, I requested a student to lead me there, and on getting there, it was a befitting edifice, a construction, and furnishing of 30 offices for Chief lecturers and senior lecturers. Before I left school, lecturers shared offices; it's obvious that the Rector of the Polytechnic has come with transformation. Within that vicinity, I saw a big ICT building. Yes, I had the plan to tour the facilities, and the ICT building, fully furnished, is another edifice constructed under Dr. Kadiri Kamoru.

The permanent site is no longer the same with infrastructural development. I returned to the Mass Communication department and saw ongoing construction, the signpost read construction and furnishing of 500 lecture theaters for the school of information and communication. In the history of Mass Communication, it will be the first time having a dedicated lecture theatre. During our day in school, it was always movement ups and downs to receive lectures. I told myself the change is happening at the Federal Polytechnic Offa.

Within the axis of the 500 lecture theatre, I saw students with engineering attire. I approached them and asked what they were doing in PS; their response stunned me as the beautiful edifice was constructed for the Engineering Department, including the laboratory. Only one with myopia will get to the building without giving kudos. At that point, I gave a big kudos to the federal government for different interventions in higher institutions.

Not only the Electrical Electronics Engineering Department, but the Civil Engineering Department is right there beside the Electrical Electronics Engineering Department. I witnessed wonders—the sight of engineers. I must pay kudos to the visionary Rector.

In all ramifications, the current Rector of my alma mater has raised the bar of administration with many firsts achievements

History has its pages for those who made change possible, and the pages of history are filled with the names of men and women of inestimable values. Either positive or negative, people are busy writing their history. The future will tell if history will be kind to them based on what they have written. The truth remains pellucid; history has its archive.

With legible handwriting, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE is writing a beautiful epistle on the pages of history with his innovative ideas and strides of development that have characterized the nooks and crannies of the Polytechnic. The trend of development is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. Distinctively, the Rector has given birth to a new polytechnic and ushered in the era of methods.

ADC: A Coalition Before Collision

Nigeria we hail thee, our own dear native land, though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand. The first three lines of the reintroduced national anthem will be sonorous to the ears of the new political warlords who amalgamated to form a coalition party.

Anytime the new partners stand to take the national anthem, in no doubt, the most pleasing part will be the first three lines. Of course, the tribe and tongue of the members of the coalition differ, and they decided to come together in brotherhood to rescue Nigeria.

In football parlance, there is a slang that is being used to describe players who are no longer in their best form; these players are called 'Bench Warmers.' These set of players at the bench have no chance of playing any match as the coach sees no impact in them to enhance the performance of the team. This is a paradigm of coalition; it is like a conglomeration of bench warmers carved from the ruling and opposition parties.


The ADC squad comprises prominent figures in the political arena such as former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, former Governor of Kaduna and Minister of FCT, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, former Presidential Candidate and Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, former Governor of Osun State and Minster of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor of Rivers State and Minster of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, and former Senate President, David Mark, among many others.

Unarguably, a single opposition cannot dislodge President Tinubu out of the villa. The ruling party is a formidable force that cannot be trashed by a light tsunami; it requires a coalition with heavy waves to defeat Jagaban. Emphasis on heavy waves with strong structure.

In 2015, Nigerians were tired of the then ruling party due to the persistent security cum economic challenges. The coalition led by President Tinubu utilised the opportunity of the 'catastrophal incendiarism' bedeviling the nation to form a coalition. The coalition we had then was a convergence of political grandeurs with unity of purpose to take over the power democratically. The sailor of the coalition, who is now the President, was not engrossed with power; he served as the sailor and packed others on board to remove Goodluck Jonathan. President Tinubu, instead of fighting to be the President as the coalition chieftain supported Buhari with his human and material resources and relaxed patiently for eight years to take over.

Obviously, the persistent crisis Nigerians experienced during Jonathan era is still pervasive, but today's coalition seems like a marriage of self-interest, except for the former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-rufai who appear to be on personal vendetta, other prominent figures in the coalition want to be president at the same time, even without party structure. Where is the way out?

Prominently, Peter Obi, Abubakar Atiku, Rotomi Ameachi are warming up to be President and already preaching south and north zoning for the seat of the President, unlike Tinubu who accepted the party leadership and watched from Lagos for eight years, who among the current coalition warriors can step down? Any coalition based on self-interest will lead to collision. No doubt!

Without mincing words, the country is already tensed with episodes of carnage, maiming and gory scenes. With the crop of new coalition, it is obvious there is no better option in sight against the current landlord of the villa. While 2027 is more or less like a predicted victory for the ruling party, some easement, we require, unarguably, though we argue against desire. Apology to Dennis Brutus.

Fedpoffa Management debunks ego clash claim by Hon. Makinde At Governing Council Level



Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has reacted to the allegations of the former council member, Hon. Rotimi Makinde over his replacement as member of the 7th Governing Council of the Polytechnic.

The Polytechnic in a release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mrs Esther Folake Oyinloye reads in full

“The attention of the Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa has been drawn to a recent news report containing claims by Hon. Rotimi Makinde regarding his replacement as a member of the institution’s Governing Council. The assertions made in the said report misrepresent the facts surrounding his appointment and the administrative processes that led to his substitution.

“In order to provide clarity and uphold the integrity of the Polytechnic, the following facts are hereby presented to correct the inaccuracies:

“Firstly, the claim that Hon. Makinde’s replacement was a result of internal politics or an “ego clash” between the Council and Management is entirely baseless and misleading. The decision to substitute him was purely administrative, guided by standard procedures and necessitated by his own procedural lapses. There is no evidence of political or personal motivations behind the decision, as the institution operates on the principles of transparency, accountability, and due process.

“By way of background, Hon. Makinde was appointed as a member of the Governing Council in June 2024, alongside other members, as duly announced by the Federal Ministry of Education on its official platforms.

“However, records clearly show that he did not attend the inauguration ceremony for newly appointed Council members held in July 2024. This ceremony was not a mere formality; it marked the official commencement of duties and was critical to the proper integration of members into the Council’s operations.

“More importantly, Hon. Makinde failed to complete the required documentation for formalizing his appointment — including the collection of his appointment letter. These steps were mandatory and uniformly applied to all appointees, as they confirmed acceptance of the appointment and compliance with all necessary administrative protocols.

“Despite ample time and opportunity, Hon. Makinde did not fulfill these obligations for over a year following his appointment. At no time did the Polytechnic receive any formal communication from him regarding his inability or intention to regularize his appointment. His prolonged inaction left the Federal Ministry of Education and Honourable Rotimi Makinde with no choice but to reasonably assume that he had opted not to proceed with the role.

Makinde, on the grounds of his non-documentation with the Federal Ministry of Education, was taken by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — who reserves the exclusive prerogative rights to appoint or replace members of Governing Councils. Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa takes students through work ethics, interview guide


The Faculty of management of Lens Polytechnic Offa has held its maiden seminar on the impact of professionalism on career development on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The seminar held at Lens University auditorium exposed the students to different professional practices, work ethics and job interview guide by different professionals.

In his welcome address, The Dean, faculty of management and the Polytechnic Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Fatai Azeez welcomed the Proprietor, guest speakers and staff members to the programme.

While addressing the students, he indulged them to pay rapt attention and grab what they need to excel in their respective field from the words of the guest speakers. “Make it a priority to listen to the speakers. Knowledge is power, it is more powerful when it is being put into practice.” – He said.

Earlier, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA practically examined the topic and the workplace etiquette as an entrepreneur. He lauded the staff and students of the faculty for organizing the seminar to enlighten the students on their career path.

The Proprietor, through demonstration, engaged the students on how to attempt interview questions, including tactical ways of catching employee's attention during job interview.

Speaking on the topic, the first speaker, Alh. Abdulganiu Mustapha exposed the problems facing entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

While noting that entrepreneurship is widely recognized as a key driver of economic development, he said the 21st century is characterized by many changes and charged the students to look at their environment and think about what they can do to develop a business plan for it.

Also speaking, Mr. Hammed Lawal highlighted the impact of professionalism and professional certification on career growth and development.

Speaking to the participants, he stated that professional certification will enhance their employability and make them distinct among their peers.

"Imbibe professionalism in you and get professional certification as it will make it easy for you to secure job opportunities” – He said.

He further beseeched them to continue to learn, unlearn and relearn and to choose a relevant certification that aligns with their career goals.

In his conclusion, he pleaded with the students to select wisely when deciding a career path and to always take professionalism serious.

EDITORIAL- Two Years In Office: FEDPOFFA Rector And The Trend Of Development



History has its pages for those who made change possible and the pages of history are filled with the names of men and women of inestimable values. Either positive or negative, people are busy writing their history. The future will tell if history will be kind to them based on what they have written. The truth remains pellucid, history has its archive.

With legible handwriting, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE is writing a beautiful epistle on the pages of history with his innovative ideas and strides of development that have characterized the nooks and crannies of the Polytechnic. The trend of development is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. Distinctively, the Rector has given birth to a new polytechnic and ushered in the era of methods.

In the words of Malcolm X, education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Dr. Kadiri came to the position of the Chief Executive of the Federal Polytechnic Offa fully prepared. He has his roadmap and template for his administration, he is desirous of change, and he believes in himself with a mantra, tagged the system must work. In all ramifications, the system is working.

Undoubtedly, the Federal Polytechnic Offa is blessed with a brilliant Rector, the Rector's brilliance is top-notch in the field of Engineering, he is an astute administrator, but he is not careless to rely on his mental, physical, and administrative abilities, he operates an open door policy with his able lieutenants, staff unions and academic board members. He is not a loner on the path to achieving a better institution and shall never walk alone.

Kofi Annan in his classical quote said education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rests the cornerstone of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development. The system of administration in the Federal Polytechnic Offa under the leadership of Dr. Kadiri Kamoru is that of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.

Dr. Kadiri led administration has extended the workforce in the Polytechnic with specified responsibilities through unbundling and expansion of units, departments, and directorates for institutional growth, staff efficiency and productivity. In line with the National Board for Technical Education's guidelines, different schools have been successfully unbundled. He appoints and re-appoints capable personnel to drive the system along his desired dream.

The free flow of any institution depends on a finesse leader who has a clear vision, part of the vision of the Rector is to extend the number of courses in the Polytechnic, today, history is kind to the digital Rector as the Polytechnic passed all the accredited courses successfully.

Harvey S. Firestone in one of his witty words said the growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership. Of course, the pillar of any organization lies in the growth and development of its workforce, for Dr. Kadiri, leadership is his highest calling. As a staunch leader, he prioritises staff welfare, growth, and development by facilitating the sponsorship of more than 500 staff members to different conferences, seminars, and workshops for efficiency and productivity.

In two years, Engr. Dr. Kadiri has raised the bar of infrastructural development in the Federal Polytechnic Offa with newly constructed buildings and renovations of dilapidated structures. His administration has witnessed the construction and furnishing of Laboratory Building for School of Engineering Technology under TETFUND Normal Intervention 2023, 1.2km road construction project under Needs Assessment Intervention for Public Polytechnics. His administration has equally equipped different departments and renovated different structures on both campuses including ICT centre in Mini Campus, Sayomi Library in mini campus, Stella Obasanjo Hall in mini campus, road maintenance and rehabilitation in mini campus, 1000 capacity lecture theatre in Main Campus.

On the 23rd of November 2023, the long overdue FEDPOFFA water was launched for commercialization. Kudos to the one who brought it to reality. At short intervals, Fedpoffa bottled water was launched. It takes a mindset to break the barrier of impossibility. Amazingly, after the water project, FEDPOFFA bread was launched. In two years, the institution has moved from consumption to production of basic commodities to meet the needs of the Polytechnic community and boost the Internally Generated Revenue.

As a thoughtful and resourceful researcher, Dr. Kadiri led the management team to the Raw Material Research and Development Council, National Board for Technical Education, and National Office For Technology Acquisition and Promotion in Abuja in an attempt to revive the research of sweet potatoes into confectioneries which the Polytechnic is known for in the past. This attempt aims to promote the cultivation and utilization of potato varieties to create delectable confectioneries, tapping into its potential as a valuable raw material to contribute to the growth and development of the Nigerian confectionery industry and to seek notable interventions from the agencies for the growth and development of the Polytechnic.

The administration places priority on the polytechnic mandate, that is, research, innovation, skills, and training manpower for national development. Through his innovative template, the institution's skills development centre where polytechnic products will be commercialized to meet the immediate needs of the community has been activated with the appointment of capable personnel. Similarly, the Polytechnic has commenced Open Distance and Flexible E-learning (ODFel). The Polytechnic has equally signed memorandum of understanding in collaborations with agencies including Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute, National Agency for Land Development Authority for the development of the Federal Polytechnic Offa.

Finally, the anticipated Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA) is currently taking place for the first time in the history of the Federal Polytechnic Offa. What seems impossible has been achieved within 2 years in office. Obviously, we are in the era of methods; not muscles, Dr. Kadiri has written his name on the pages of history where those who made change possible can never be forgotten.

Away and beyond, it is two years of giant strides and development. May the years ahead continue to be fruitful and productive. Happy anniversary to the digital Rector, the system is working.

Wonders shall never cease to happen in Nigeria, predominantly in politics and creative industry. The two facets of human endeavours remain the major enablers of the media. Others remain secondary with less attention. The entertainment industry and political corridor will always be the most talked about with the pervasive mysteries and wonders.

Of course, the news of Mallam Nasir El-rufai who recently migrated from the ruling party to Social Democratic Party is still a topic for debate in political parlance. El-rufai's recent decision to dump the party where he served as two terms governor further certified the mantra of no permanent friend in politics, but permanent interest. I have come to realised that the politicians negotiate their interest, not in the interest of the masses.

It's obvious the former Governor of Kaduna State is already missing his relevance in the party he worked for in 2015, 2019 and 2023. What matters to the political elites is relevance in the corridor of power. What special thing would El-rufai tell Nigerians about the future he claimed to secure in SDP that have not been said before during his active days in APC? Just like his words, unless betrayed, loyalty and fidelity to friends are permanent and pensionable. Unless reconciled, opposition and enmity to traitors are permanent and pensionable.” while Nigerians stand akimbo to watch his abracadabra in 2027, I dare him to test his electoral value with a Presidential ticket.

Back to the basic, it is very appalling that entertainment industry is getting exacerbated with shameless and disgusting drama. The recent crisis between the two comic actors, Ijoba Lande and Baba Tee have further cemented the popular opinion that the industry is filthy and not a save haven for those who dwell in the realm of sainthood.

As a matter of fact, what Lande is going through currently is a self-inflicted penance, his estranged wife is not in his social class, I doubt if Lande smokes; her wife is a versatile smoker and tippler. The couple's mismatch is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. I will only blame Baba Tee for engaging in such petty game. The real reason for initiating truth or dare was achieved-nothing more, nothing less. All the parties involved in the game are guilty.

Obviously, it took Lande time to drag his matrimonial issue to the court of public opinion, from his narrations, he went through a lot with a heavy heart. His experience is another testimonial that money is never enough to keep a woman. Something else matters.

As El-rufai rightly stated," “Unless betrayed, our loyalty and fidelity to friends are permanent and pensionable. Unless reconciled, our opposition and enmity to traitors are permanent and pensionable.”

Ijoba Lande has exposed a lot and enough, he needs to move on. I pray he finds comfort he deserves. Amen!

Lens University Appoints Former KWASU Registrar, Oyebode As Pioneer Registrar

The Management of Lens University Ilemona, along Offa - Irra Road, Kwara State has appointed Mr. Surajudeen Oyedokun Oyebode as the pioneer Registrar of the University.

Oyebode who hails from Sawo Olarenwaju Compound Offa was born on the 28th of September 1958.

After his elementary education at St Mark's School Ilaro (1965), St Mark's School Offa (1966-1967) and Baptist Day School-Minna (1968-1971), he proceeded to Offa Grammar School Offa from 1972 to 1976 for his secondary education. He also attended Zungeru College of Advanced Studies Bida from 1976 to 1978 before gaining admission to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he obtained a degree in English Literature in June 1981.

As a thoroughbred administrator, Oyebode proceeded to University of Benin for his postgraduate diploma in Public Administration from1984 to 1985.

He joined the services of Usmanu Danfodio University as an Administrative Assistant in July 1982, he rose through the ranks to become Senior Assistant Registrar, Principal Assistant Registrar and Deputy Registrar in October 1995.

Oyebode has served the University in different capacities. He served as the Secretary, Postgraduate School from May to September 1995, from April 1997 to May 1998 and from 20th July 2009 to 29th November 2013.

As an administrator par excellence with wide experience, he was appointed as Registrar, Kwara State University Malete from 3rd December 2013 to 30th November 2018. After his successful tenure at Kwara State University, he returned to Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto to resume duty in February 2019.

Oyebode, a dedicated and committed technocrat retired as Deputy Registrar from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, (UDU) Sokoto and former Registrar of Kwara State University, Malete respectively.

He has attended many national and international conferences. Oyebode retired from public service in September 2023. He is married and blessed with children.

The Management congratulates him, wishes him a successful tenure of office.

2025 International Women's Day: LEAH Foundation Sensitizes Secondary School Students On Breast, Cervical Cancer In Offa


To commemorate 2025 International Women's Day, the Leah Foundation has held a day sensitization programme for the students of St Claires Anglican Girls Secondary School Offa, Kwara State.

The program titled accelerate action featured health talk on breast and cervical cancer prevention including general body hygiene and maintenance by girl child.

While addressing the students on how to accelerate action towards breast and cervical health, Dr. Gregory Oyinloye, a medical officer at LEAH Medical Centre, described cancer as abnormal growth of cell in any part of the body. He said the foundation deems it fit to catch the young women to safeguard their health.

He noted that abnormalities in breast is noticeable through change in size, boil, breast lump among others.

Speaking further, he said eating healthy food, exercise, abstinence from early intercourse or multiple partners, alcohol and illicit drugs, among others, safeguard men and women from cancer.

He charged the students who are girl child to always do breast self-examination on a monthly basis for early detection.

Also speaking, the LEAH Foundation ambassador, Miss Amity-Queen Moremi Ajansoro, Munirat Babalola appreciated the Founder of LEAH Foundation, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed for embarking on humanitarian services through cancer sensitization screening and awareness. She therefore admonished the students to always do self-examination as advised and speak up in case of early detection for proper treatment.

Appreciating the LEAH Foundation, the Vice Principal, Mr. S. A Alabi commended LEAH Foundation for bringing sensitization programme to the school. He noted that the health talk and lectures will have a positive impact on the students by exposing them to prevention of breast and cervical cancer.

The Lens Polytechnic Offa Kwara State has held its 13th Matriculation Ceremony on Thursday 27 February 2025 at the Polytechnic Permanent Site.

The Proprietor and Acting Rector of Lens Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA in his address reiterated the institution's zero tolerance for indecent dressing, cultism and other social vices.

Dr. Azeez congratulated the newly admitted students for making an excellent choice to study at Lens Polytechnic Offa, adding that the students will be exposed to new ideas, new perspectives, and new experiences that will broaden their horizons and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.

While advising students on security tips, the representative of the Commandant, Nigeria Navy College of Health Sciences Offa, Captain U.S Okeke advised new students to always be security conscious and always report any suspicious activities within their surroundings to the security agencies. The social trends have been following a similar pattern from this early February till moment and the most prevalent banters have been doing a roundtable discussion on our highly revered Islamic clerics (Alfas).

Social media, a very loose, porous and disjointed medium yet the largest employer of labour in Nigeria, has come to roost in the backyard of Muslim clerics with different content creators creating comical contents to lampoon the Alfas. The messages from the innuendos are not far-fetched, they are demeaning and explosive to the status of the Muslim clerics (Sufi).

Funnily, when the waves of Ganusi, an interpellated insult from the ace Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde seems to be diminishing, another heartless, malignant self-proclaimed, cleric, Abdulrahman raised the tempo of garbage of insults and salvos against Alfas. This time, the content creators have taken another dimension to result to ethnic profiling. Of the evil effect of social media, our clerics are currently having their large share in big size.

Emphatically, the era of Ganusi erupted heavy storm and volcano from different quarters, the mantra became exacerbated when Ayinde Marshall declined apology request from Sheik Suleiman Faruq. Personally, I didn't take offense in the Ganusi remark, I took side when Wasiu Ayinde publicly declined to apologise. Of course, Ganusi is an insult, though not intended to be derogatory, but the height of arrogance displayed publicly and his refusal to tender mild apology gave a clearer picture of the slang.

Of course, an average Muslim with a touch of Arabic knowledge will take side with clerics, while some who have already labelled the clerics with covetous emblem followed K1 De Ultimate. Regardless of the sides one belongs, it was obvious the clerics took their grounds and chastised King Wasiu Ayinde unilaterally. In fact, many video clips captured some clerics raining heavy curses and giving ultimatum to Wasiu Ayinde to retract the derogatory remark. The unison deployed by a larger percentage of clerics to rebuke and drag Wasiu on social for soiling their unsullied reputation must be commended.

The Ganusi had come and gone, and the same clerics are left with another ritualists appellation battle on social media. Unfortunately, the voice the clerics used to criticise Wasiu Ayinde is nowhere to be found, as expected. Kudos to the Muslim clerics who have come out to condemn the gruesome murder of Hafsoh, the killing of Hafsoh is what all well-meaning Nigerians condemned and, of course, we await the judgment. Have the clerics condemned themselves for their unrewarding sermons and twisted Qur'anic verses glorifying hasty wealth? How many of the Alfas who gave the ultimatum to Wasiu Ayinde have come out to give stern warning to their counterparts preaching hasty wealth? Between Ganusi insult against Alfas and ritualists appellation, which one is more derogatory?

The sad reality is that Alfas now enjoy social media drama more than the bloggers. Some acclaimed Alfas twist reality in the Holy Book to suit their narrative for likes, comments and followers, Alfas now flaunt wealth, convoy on social media, attack themselves and turn themselves to object of ridicule before the public. Many have exchanged the prestige and dignity of being an Alfa with followers on social media.

As a matter of fact, the task before the Islamic clerics extends beyond 'sycophant-value' on the ritual activities of a young member, it is time to openly address the unreligious, unholy and devilish preachings of their members for the sake of virtue and sanity. It is time for the Islamic clerics (Sufi) to really emulate the late Sheiks with their preachings. The much reason why Sheik Aboto's death will continue to be painful to the marrow. Enough of unnecessary motivation and glorification of hasty wealth. It is time for our Alfas to address themselves and call a spade a spade. The same followers you are pleasing with twisted preachings are currently playing your throwbacks for ridicule. The misguided utterances are becoming intermittent; it is time to take a pause, though, social media will never forget your misleading preachings. Ma Salam!

Health experts within and outside Nigeria on Thursday February 6, 2025 gathered to deliberate extensively on the recent development assistance-related decisions of the President Donald Trump led United States Government and concluded that the aids cut should be an opportunity, and not threat to sustainable health financing in Nigeria.


It will be recalled that President Donald Trump, in a dramatic shift directed the freezing of aids thus placing many lifesaving programmes in jeopardy especially in healthcare administration. Health experts say the massive aids cutbacks threaten humanitarian programmes around the world and has the potential of adversely affecting the lives of aids recipients across the world. The US is also about to reduce the US Agency for International Development (USAID) staff considerably. This will effectively put a stop to the various interventions in the agency’s core areas of disaster prevention, disease control and prevention, poverty reduction and many other interventions, especially in health and related areas. The American President has also initiated the withdrawal of US from the World Health Organization (WHO). It is also feared that many donor providing nations may follow the example of the United States.
All these decisions, of course has far reaching implications on accelerated Universal Health Coverage (UHC) progress especially in the donor dependent developing nations including Nigeria.
Health professionals and development experts provided insights at a webinar organized by the Universal Health Coverage Forum in Nigeria to deliberate on the impacts of donor dependence in health financing, provided ways out and safety nets against the looming aid freeze, especially as it affects health and deliberated on a sustainable financing mechanism for Nigeria and accelerated UHC progress. The discussion was moderated by Health Financing Specialist and Co-Convener of the UHC Forum Nigeria, Dr. Gafar Alawode, Programme Director of Development Governance International, DGI.
Some of the suggestions from the highly participatory discussion include leveraging on the largely unutilized private sector funding, strengthening and expanding, utilization of health-related taxes, especially alcohol, tobacco, sugar and sweetened beverages etc. for the health sector, institutionalization of effective accountability framework and peer review and leveraging on the abundant economic resources in Nigeria to fund health. More importantly, the panelists sought the demonstration of political will on the part of leadership at the various levels of government to reposition health financing in Nigeria in the face of emerging realities.

In her opening remark, the veteran journalist and co-convener/chair of the Universal Health Coverage Forum in Nigeria, Chief Mrs. Moji Makanjuola noted that the Executive order of President Donald Trump last month cutting off livelihoods and expectations of many has been a shocker to the donor funded world. She expressed regret that African nations, including the potentially wealthy Nigeria have to depend on aids, which discerning observers have noted may come to a halt sooner or later. She noted that despite the abysmally low budget provision and releases in a country like Nigeria, corruption and misappropriation, low value delivery etc. have further compounded the problems in healthcare delivery. She charged the discussants to stimulate further discussions and actions, think out of the box for a shift from dependence on donors no matter how well meant. She however noted the efforts of the present national health administration in various ways and requested for institutionalization of accountability, integrity in the system and innovative and equitable resource administration.

Dr. Magda Robalo, Chair Steering Committee for UHC2030 emphasized the need for stakeholders not to allow the present crisis in global health financing go to waste. “We need to turn this crisis into a great opportunity. There is need to engage political leadership to ensure more money for health and more health for the funds allocated”. She noted that major cuts in aids budgets by donors have been on for some times, affecting abilities to deliver on programmes. She commended Nigeria for leading through the National Health Sector Renewal Investment initiative announced last year. She however called for decisive actions for sustenance of the initiative and commitment from stakeholders including governments and civil society, so that Africa and middle-income countries ca take its health sovereignty in their hands.
Professor Rob Yates, a Universal Health Coverage enthusiast and visiting Professor London School of Economics noted that the changes being engineered by the United States Government will have profound impacts on world health financing although the aids cuts have been witnessed in the last four years. He observed that the party seems to be over for aids recipients.

This according to him is however coming when needs of countries including Nigeria are growing massively. He noted that from the current realities, Universal health Coverage cannot be achieved though aids and donor funding in a country like Nigeria. “To a large extent Nigeria should eliminate this from its calculation. Looking at the numbers, the funding that may come isn’t going to make much difference. That is the world we a living in at the moment.” He however agreed that the current situation provides an opportunity to be grabbed. He noted further that Nigeria will have to own its future and rely majorly on domestic public funding to finance UHC as exampled by some other countries. What it takes, according to him is political commitment especially by the President and State Governors, realizing how important health is to their electorate. He suggested that effectively utilizing vast natural and human resources in the country to fund health is a way to be considered.
To Dr. Amina Aminu Dorayi, Country Director, Pathfinder International, a system strengthening specialist, donor funding could serve useful purpose if not strategically designed to catalyze public spending and aligned with felt needs and identified priorities of donor recipient countries. He noted further that donor funding are complimentary and should normally facilitate attainment of countries’ objectives. She emphasized the need for effective mobilization of critical stakeholders including governments, health professionals, media, the academia etc. to move for policy changes towards domestic financing in this critical juncture of donor freeze. She recommended practical, context specific smart advocacy, “which is a collaborative and transformational process that brings together advocates and allies from different backgrounds to create change and sustain progress.

The smart advocacy will focus on decision makers, focuses people that have the power to act on requests from well prepared champions”. She reasoned further that transitioning from donor funding should be carefully planned to involve all critical stakeholders, emphasize the use of data for evidence-based decisions and ensure significant domestic resource mobilization. She noted that domestic funding could be significantly improved by strengthening tax collection, improved allocation to health, strengthening health insurance scheme and many other areas.
Nigeran Governors Forum Secretariat representative, Dr. Chinekwu Oreh, a Health Specialist disclosed that as the administrative and technical arms of the association of the 36 state governors in Nigeria, the secretariat has been helping to keep governors accountable and tracking commitments in line with the set priorities and agenda. She disclosed further that the secretariat has been involved in evidence-based advocacy regarding health financing and Universal Health Coverage.

He said the NGF secretariat has been making efforts to extract finance data to track spending on health as well as encouraging positive peer pressure to ensure good programmes and policies in one state is adopted in other states as well as help states adopt sustainable financing framework. She disclosed that the tracking of government to partners spending already adopted for nutrition will be scaled to other areas. She agreed on the need to mobilize more resources into the health space despite the constrained fiscal space, maximizing available resources and ensure improved allocation efficiency.
The discussion emphasized leveraging on huge private sector resources to fund health. Dr. Anne Ogoh, Director of Policy at Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria stated that the private sector has contributed significantly to improving health outcomes although there is still need for synergy for the private sector basket to be more impactful and demonstrate higher returns. She disclosed that different mechanisms for mobilizing resources from the private sector including Adopting Healthcare Facility Project which has ensured private corporate organizations like MTN are adopting about 52 health care centres.

The organization, according to her is also working through high-net-worth individuals in the philanthropic health financing approach. She also mentioned the Public-Private Partnership either through build-operate and transfer or through the leasing of government infrastructure for improvement. She gave example of the considerable funding realized during the COVID 19 pandemic as an example of what is achievable. She also dwelled on the need for improvements in other social determinants of health for a comprehensive approach to tackling the difficulties that may arise.

The Chairman Health Sector Reform Coalition, Dr Muhammed Mustapha Lecky spoke on the efforts of the civil society in ensuring the establishment of Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF)and the success story in this regard will assist in the efforts towards innovative financing of health. He regretted that much suggestions have been made but these suggestions and documentations on innovative financing have not been implemented. He called attention to a landmark study by USAID on the potential to raise additional money to meet healthcare needs in Nigeria.

He said the study; Local Health System Sustainability Project holds a lot of promise for sustainable health financing. The study, according to him shows clearly the quantum of money readily available, not even requiring new taxes. He mentioned the possibility of doubling the BHCPF from 1% to 2% although this may require amending the existing law. He mentioned also the alcohol and tobacco taxes which is already being collected but not utilized for health. There is also sugar sweetening tax, according to him. These taxes alone, he said will amount to about N200 billion. He explained that the adoption of innovative health financing is mainly about political will and pressure that can come from the civil society members. He mentioned that the Health Sector Reform Coalition is in the process of drafting required bill for the national assembly for the utilization of the taxes for health.

An advocate of improving efficiency in the health sector Prof Obinna Ojekwe, a Health Economist also spoke on the sector wide approach to improve efficiency of government financing. The webinar has provided a basis for discussions and possible actions so that Nigeria will look inward to fund its health needs utilizing domestic resources. Experts believe that this is the time to reconsider the dependence on aids, harness the obviously abundant local resources to provide health for the Nigerian people and uphold health sovereignty of the country.

Reiterates Commitment To Enhance Law, Order In Offa Community



The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa has received the newly deployed Commanding Officer, 68 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Offa command, ACP, Oseni Rasaq on Tuesday 21 January 2025.

The Commandant was received by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE, the Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko, Council Affairs Officer, Barr. Ebenezer Babatunde, Ag. Internal Auditor, Mrs. Ronke Mustapha, Deputy Registrar Rectory, Mrs. J.F Egbele at the Rector's office.

While welcoming ACP Oseni, Engr. Dr. Kadiri on behalf of the Governing Council commended the new Commandant for extending the familiarization visit to the Polytechnic, adding that the Institution is always ready to collaborate with security agencies to maintain peaceful atmosphere in Offa and its environs.

Corroborating the Rector, the Registrar, noted that, the Polytechnic has been maintaining cordial relationships with the security agencies in Offa and will continue to extend the cooperation and understanding towards sustainability of a peaceful atmosphere in Offa community.

Earlier, ACP Oseni in his remark appreciated the Polytechnic Management for the reception. He said the visit was premised on familiarising the new leadership of the command with the Polytechnic.

According to him, “It is our tradition that when we assume duty, we pay a courtesy visit to the relevant stakeholders who will make our exercise seamless in our new territory.”

The Assistant Commissioner of Police who have served in different States with years of experience assured the institution's Management of necessary support to ensure law and order prevail in the community.

“The essence of the visit is to familiarize with the institution, partner with the institution and reassure that law and order prevail in Offa community. If our service is needed, we are more than available for you.” he added.

Police Mobile Force is a rapid response unit in the Nigerian Police Force. The PMF is tasked with responding to civil disturbances, riots, and other security threats.

Lens Poly Offa Stages 'No To Drugs Campaign, Reiterates Zero Tolerance For Hard Drugs, Harmful Substances





Proprietor, Dean Sch of Bus., Registrar, Others Warn Youths Against Menace







To fight against drug abuse and harmful substances among Nigerian Youths, the Mass Communication students of Lens Polytechnic Offa Kwara State have embarked on 'No to Drugs campaign in Offa community.

The campaign titled 'Choose Life, Not Drugs,' was staged on Saturday, January 11, 2025, to further raise awareness on the effect of drug abuse and declare the institution's zero tolerance for hard drugs, harmful substances among other social vices.

While addressing journalists, the Proprietor of the Polytechnic, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA said the campaign is part of the students' curriculum and it was carried out to wage war against the menace of illicit drugs in the society.

According to him, “This year, we are carrying out our annual campaign on #Say No To Drugs, Yes To Life, the campaign is part of the curriculum, and we focus on Say No To Drugs because hard drugs is one of the things destroying life of Nigerian Youths, the menace has been killing our youths, and they are no longer contributing to the economic development of the country. We want Nigerian youths to avoid hard drugs as drugs takers are liable to die young.”

Dr. Azeez therefore commended the Federal Government's efforts on curbing the menace, adding that the campaign is to support the government in fighting against the rife.

Also speaking, the Dean, School of Business Studies and Director of Strategic Planning, Mr. Azeez Fatai said the campaign was geared to sensitize the students on the school's zero tolerance for drugs and social vices. He noted that drug abuse and harmful substances constitute to the hiker level of crime rate in the society and charged students to totally abstain from it.

On his part, the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan commended Mass Communication Department and the coordinator, Mr. Adedimeji Lukman Alani for organising the campaign, he noted that the campaign topic was carefully chosen to address drug abuse which is now rampant in the society.

“We are trying to sensitize the entire community and Nigerian Youths at large to shun drug abuse and embrace life because the use of hard drugs harms the lives of abusers. The campaign is to let them know the consequences of taking hard drugs and how it is detrimental to their lives,” he said.

Corroborating the Registrar in separate interviews, the Dean, School of Art and Information and the Polytechnic Librarian noted that the campaign topic came at the right time to tackle the pervasive issue of drug abuse in the society, adding that hard drugs can lead to mental disorder, crime, and death. They therefore admonished Nigerian Youths to stay away from hard drugs and embrace healthy life.

While the Polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nurudeen Muhammad said the primary objective of the campaign is to pass the message across to the society on the evil effect of harmful substances, he charged Nigerian Youths to avoid the evil tide that is capable of truncating their lives.

Speaking with the press in different interviews, the students of Mass Communication Department charged their colleagues, Nigerian youths at large to shun drugs and embrace life.

2025: FEDPOFFA Rector Charges Staff To Build On Collective Strengths For Prosperous Future In New Year Greetings
