Birthday Tribute To MOK, The Offa Born Philanthropist

```BY BUSY BRAIN```
My birthday columns are not exaggerated expressions or just weaving words into lines to hype individuals without merit. My birthday writings are significant to celebrate individuals who are making meaningful impact in the lives of the people around them and the community by extension. This propel the need to join the league of well wishers to celebrate the man of honor, a successful entrepreneur, Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, founder of MOK Foundation.
Today, 15th of November marks the day an icon, a rare gem, and a great man of the masses was born in Offa, Kwara State. His impressive personality is a reflection of his kind, generous, humble, cordial, and interpersonal relationships between and among people living around him. Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode is an illustrious son of Offa who uses his influence and affluence to cater for the needs of the people at the grassroots.
My definition of a fulfilled life varies and is not measured by big mansions, or exotic cars, a fulfilled person is someone who sees other people's problems as a challenge that must be tackled; a fulfilled personality is someone who impacts meaningfully on the lives of people devoid of ethnicity, bias, and sentiment. In all ramifications, MOK is a fulfilled personality. He sees individual difficulties as a challenge that must be cleared, and always channels his human and material resources to assist the needy and the less privileged.
Like the word of Shakespeare, greatness can be inborn, inherited, and attained through hard work and diligence, Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode is a beneficiary of God's favor to achieve greatness in life. Through hard work and diligence, his name rings a bell in the nooks and crannies of Offa community and Kwara State to a large extent. His high level of intelligence, influence, and intellectual capacity as a Surveyor of repute do not stop him from relating freely and harmoniously with people at the grassroots. His humility is refined in his simplicity.
Allah says in the Holy Quran that those who spend charitably from what He has provided for them will have a reserved place in paradise, to buttress this are those martyrs who were given the certificates to paradise right from their lifetime. Those martyrs remain and alive spending for charity. They are in different localities assisting people and giving hope to the hopeless.
Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode no doubt, is one of the rare gems on earth whose existence remains a blessing to mankind, to their family, and to their immediate community. He gives without looking back, he spends extensively to ameliorate poverty at the grassroots, he is a philanthropist par excellence and a community developer whose love and passion for his community remain indefatigable.
As part of the traits of those who made an impact, he aspires to carve a niche for himself positively through his humanitarian service delivery — where history does not forget individuals. MOK actually deserves meaningful commendation for his philanthropic gestures and eradication of humanity's greatest deprivations such as poverty, unemployment, hunger, health, security, education among others. On a birthday like this, a series of congratulations in their droves cannot be sufficient! Individuals need to ask themselves what they are doing with their wealth and position. Your life cannot be separated from what you do.
Offa is blessed with notable illustrious sons and daughters making waves in different fields of endeavor across the globe. MOK is one of these numerous numbers of fulfilled Offa sons and daughters. He sees the world as transient and beyond himself, he is a consistent personality in the delivery of promises. You cannot have him around you and feel insecure. He is one of the heroes who found their way into the pages of History, where those who made change possible can never be forgotten.
Congratulations to the surveyor of repute, pious philanthropist, giver of charity, generous personality, community developer, and a man of the people on his birthday. May it not be the last celebration on earth. Many more prosperous years ahead in more wealth and sound health. May your tomorrow be greater than today. Ameen!
Coalition of CSOs, NGOs Visit Health Minister, Calls for Accountability, Citizen Participation in Health Policy Designs
The Nigeria Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Forum, a coalition of Civil Societies and Non-governmental organizations has called for a wholistic reappraisal of Nigeria’s health sector policy thrusts to allow for inputs of civil societies and citizens participation. The coalition which is currently working on many major health development areas including Basic Healthcare Development Provision Fund (BHCPF) Accountability Framework, made the request during a consultative meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare Minister, Prof. Muhammed Ali Pate at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Friday.
The Coalition expressed optimism that accountability framework will be very useful if deployed to support the emerging policy thrusts coming from the Hon. Coordinating Minister.
The leader of the coalition, Dr. Gafar Alawode, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC) Health Financing Committee expressed the need for re-examination of the health policy thrusts to determine where civil societies can make additional recommendations in terms of position paper.
The group also expressed willingness to take up the subject of accountability and transparency from the current status, and seeks the support of the Hon Minister on this. It was also noted that the importance of a multi-sectoral approach and strategic collaboration and partnership cannot be overemphasized if any meaningful progress were to be made. The group noted further that the mobilization of citizens and CSOs at all levels to review the new strategies and come up with a position paper which would be presented to the Ministry.
Dr. Alawode appreciated the Hon Coordinating Minister for the giant strides being made in the health sector with regard to policy thrusts.
In his response, the Hon Minister reiterated that the policy direction of the current administration and the Ministry is based on four cardinal areas which include Effective Governance; efficient, equitable and quality health systems; Unlocking value chain; Promoting clinical research and development; and Health security. He disclosed that the focal areas were informed by engagements and interactions with a wide range of stakeholders including the citizens who participated in key informant interviews, as well as current health outcomes. Prof Pate assured that the focus of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is to strategically mobilize available resources towards getting more results, particularly at the point of service delivery.
The Honourable Coordinating Minister had set up a committee to develop the Basic Healthcare Provision Programme (BHCPP), incorporating the redesign of the Basic healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF). Further to this, the committee met with a coalition of CSOs/NGOs to discuss key elements of the redesigned BHCPF and key features of the BHCPP. The meeting is part of the consultative process supporting the rollout of the BHCPP.
From Emilokan To Enikanlomo
```BY BUSY BRAIN```

This morning, I picked up my gas cylinder and proceeded to the filling station, on getting there, I was informed that 1 kg of gas cost a thousand Naira. My initial plan to fill 5 kg was reduced to 3 kg with immediate effect. While at the filling station, another customer came to fill her 3 kg cylinder, and she asked the attendant to fill a gas worth five hundred Naira (N500), which is half of 1 kg. Being a familiar face in the neighborhood, I jokingly asked why she preferred to fill N500 gas, and she askance replied, 'Enitokanlomo.'

For my non-Yoruba audience, 'emilokan' is a Yoruba word that depicts 'it is my turn' and enitokan-lomo in this context is another Yoruba metaphorical word which means 'Whoever is affected by the current situation knows where the shoe pinches.' The woman filled what she could afford at that moment and just like her response, she knows where the current economic downturn is pinching her. The current situation is not friendly. Enitokan-lomo!

Kofi Awoonor in his Song of Sorrow poem writes 'Dzogbese Lisa has treated me thus, it has led me among the sharps of the forest, returning is not possible and going forward is a great difficulty…' Nigeria is actually in the sharps of the forest, returning is not possible and moving forward has become a mirage. Nigeria cannot go back to the military regime or the colonial era and despite the independence and democracy, the country is not moving forward. It is the usual lamentation of the 'Nigeria Go Better mantra' over the years.

Recently, it came to light that the current administration spent $507,384, which is equivalent to nearly 400 million Naira for hotel accommodation in New York when the President and his team attended the UN General Assembly in September. It was also gathered that the federal government has requested a $1.5 billion loan to buy new cars for government officials, including SUVs for each of the 360 members of the House of Representatives, which will cost N160 million per car. How are we going to move forward as a nation when this sum of money is going for cars in the period of four years?

As usual, in defense of profligacy spending, the Senate has come out to justify the decision to buy imported sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for lawmakers in the two chambers. Sunday Karimi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Services, explained that the leadership of the National Assembly made the choice for the lawmakers based on considerations of durability and maintenance over four years.

In his counter-criticism of the public outcry surrounding the purchase of the SUVs, Karimi flayed critics to adduce to the ministers who ride about four official vehicles. Where is the difference? All feeding large on the taxpayers' money; of course, we all know that heaven will not fall. It is the story of birds of a feather that flock together.

Nigerians are made to believe that fuel subsidy is evil and anti-masses, while Mr. President at the point of inauguration declared its total removal. Ever since this official pronouncement on national television, the gown of our nightmare remains unchanged. Things become more exacerbated. The price of goods and commodities is mounting Mountain Everest and Kilimanjaro. If the subsidy is truly anti-masses as portrayed, the masses are not supposed to be suffering after its removal. Tell the President that the endurance talk and consolation sermon are already falling on deaf ears. People are not smiling.

As reported in Premium Times on October 7, 2023, the National President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Festus Osifo revealed that the Nigerian government has restored subsidy on petrol, despite the official government policy of breaking with the subsidy regime since May.

The Daily Trust report of September 21, 2023, also chronicled the revelation of a subsidy payment of N169.4 billion in August to keep the pump price at N620 per litre.

Similarly, in the Punch news of October 11, 2023, the oil marketers countered the Federal Government's denial of the reintroduction of subsidy. As against the claim of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL who denied the subsidy payment, the marketers claimed that the current pump price of petrol should not be less than N800/litre if there was no subsidy on the commodity. It has been a loggerhead between marketers and the Government on subsidy payment and removal. Who is deceiving who? Why the removal since there will be continuous partial payment? Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, says, “Three things cannot be long hidden, the sun, the moon, and the truth…”

Nigeria's annual inflation rate climbed to 26.7% in August 2023, from 24.08% in July and marking the highest rate since September 2005, reflecting the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies, the devaluation of the official exchange rate, and security issues in food-producing regions.

A Déjà vu of the endurance sermon lasted eight(cool years during Buhari's administration and ended up in disappointment. Many of Buhari's loyalists who preached endurance eventually buried their heads in shame. The reality of today is that the floor of the mandate we are standing on is hot and burning us to the marrow. The poor are no longer breathing, they are gasping heavily as many have been streamlined to the extreme poverty level. Nigerians are not asking for too much. Good governance and better living conditions for all and sundry. Some easement we require.

A quick reminder to Mr. President that it is not yet a victory when the masses are drenched in pains of hunger and insecurity. The renewed hope is still in anticipation; we are anxiously waiting for it to manifest. Lest I forget, congratulations to the President on the Supreme Court victory. May God use him to lead us to the right path.

*Away and Beyond: Happy Birthday To The HOD Of Mass Communication, Mrs. Kehinde Adeniran*

_Ejire ara isokun, wini wini loju orogun, ejiworoko loju iya e..._

The above lines form part of the impressive panegyrics of twins. Whenever people weave the lines into words to appraise twins, it is always like a soothing balm, pleasant to the ears, and incredibly sonorous.

I opened my piece with a few of the lines because it is a celebration of Ejires (twins), the Head of Department of Mass Communication of the best private Polytechnic In Nigeria, Lens Polytechnic Offa and her twin sister.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, "…if you want to test man's character, give him power”. The question I have always wanted to ask Abraham is about women. What will one give to women if one wishes to test their character? Women in this regard are likely to misuse power more than men. Apologies to the feminists, even though I said 'likely'.

Whether women are likely to misuse power or not, Mrs. Kehinde is not the caliber of women who are power-drunk. She knows her mandate as the Head of Department and stands firmly to uphold her essential duties excellently and diligently.

My constant reservation for Dr. Yisa Azeez, the amiable proprietor of the great institution, is his ability and high instinct to put the round peg in the round hole. With all sincerity, the HoD of Mass Communication is one of the round pegs in the round hole. Her brilliance, diplomacy, and pragmatism as a leader are at the echelon with her very endearing personality. She is calm, reserved, and highly disciplined.

Beyond her professional competence, the HOD is admired and respected for her approachability and genuine care for students' well-being. Her mentorship has guided many students through personal and academic challenges, providing support and encouragement along the way. She serves as an inspiring role model, exemplifying professionalism, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to ethical journalism.

W. Barnett Pearce and Vernon Cronen in their Coordinated Management of Meaning theory of Interpersonal Communication posit on the actions and reactions while having a social interaction. Every single person has their interpretation and found meaning while interacting. This construction of meaning during the conversation comprises an interpersonal system that explains actions and reactions. Mrs. Kehinde's actions and reactions are emblems of respect and humility. She is a woman of virtue with dignified simplicity.

Jennifer Lopez in her strong women quote said, “Doubt is a killer. You just have to know who you are and what you stand for.” Mrs. Kehinde's ability and capability to propel the academic cum administrative activities of the Department are not in doubt. Staff and students know what she stands for; she stands for discipline, work ethic, and academic excellence.

Nigeria has undeniably been supported by brave women who have shown great prowess and have stood up to fight for what they believe in, and their influence is of great significance today. I have read about women on the pages of history, the Moremi Ajasoro, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, and Alimotu Pelewura Erelu among many others, they are women of timber and caliber whose names remain indefatigable in history. For her doggedness, perseverance, commitment, dedication, and leadership by example, Mrs. Adeniran is on the verge of writing history where those who made change possible can never be forgotten.

Psalm 46:5 says, "God is within her, she will not fall” As Mrs. Kehinde marks a new year today with her Taiwo, May Almighty God continue to be within you, and may you not fall.

Away and beyond, happy birthday to the HoD of Mass Communication, I wish her and her twin sister more prosperous years ahead.

OPINION: Between Mandate and Certificate

_By Busy Brain_

The political terrain in Nigeria in recent times is sloppy and many strong forces are falling into the murky water of the slippery terrain through the tribunal weeding. The Tribunal has ruled over many different elections conducted and the outcome was an eyesore. Like erosion, the tribunal is eroding the expected and unexpected. In Nigeria, the outcome of the elections announced by INEC is not always the final, the judiciary has always been the last line of action. Many electoral cases are still hanging in courts. It is the era of electoral brouhaha. Any which way, the barristers are smiling.

Out of all the election proceedings going on in the court, the most hit one is between the aged long friends whose friendship clashed with interest. Politics is a dirty game. It has no permanent friend or enemy. What is constant is the interest. Tinubu and Atiku have wined and dined in the era of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). They belonged to the same political ideology and caucus. The urge for political power diverged their roads into separate parts. The path they chose differently has landed the old friends in the court of law at home and abroad exposing themselves to the world. A blacksmith who hits the iron on the same spot consistently must have seen some signs. For Atiku to have insisted on digging into the past in a strong term, he must have seen Tinubu's weaknesses in the era of friendship.

Like Abraham Maslow in his hierarchy of needs theory, the peak of the pyramid of needs is what the duo of Atiku and Tinubu are fighting to attain. That is self-actualization. Tinubu and Atiku only want to be named in the pages of history. They have long crossed the border of all pyramids of needs like many other political grandeurs. The self-actualization pyramid is the reason why it is difficult for Atiku to accept the will of God. He hunts abroad to upturn what God has predestined and stamped. It is not possible.

I have come a long way to realize the differences between a mandate and a certificate. It is so disgusting to start digging up the certificate after losing the mandate. The masses through election have given their mandate to whom they consider the best for the job. Nigerians did not vote because of the certificates of the candidates during elections, Nigerians voted for their trusted candidate. Whether the trusted candidate is performing to the expectation or not, the time shall count and it has started counting. Nigerians chose Buhari over Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 without considering the certificate. Many Governors and myriad public office holders were voted in without certificates. In an electoral context, the people's mandate matters most while others are secondary.

Tinubu served as a Governor and a former senator, which certificate did he tender to run for Governorship and senatorial race or certificate did not matter in those periods? Nigeria loses former Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun on a flimsy note of NYSC certificate. In Nigeria, we tend to leave what matters to chase a misplaced priority. What should be the most important is good governance that will guarantee egress for all out pangs and pains. If it comes to worse, I will support Tinubu's resignation based on his level of performance; not because of a certificate. If the constitution specifies a school leaving certificate as a minimum requirement for the presidential position, arguing about a University certificate while an SSCE holder can occupy the same position is a misplaced priority.

While the judiciary is to take its stand on the authenticity of Tinubu's certificate as released by Chicago State University, I maintain the stand of valuing people's mandate. The certificate saga is a distraction.

The Death And Resurrection of Mohbad

By Busy Brain

He fought but lost the battle along the line. He voiced out but his voice could not be heard by colleagues. We all gathered to post Rest in Peace. We all could have done better to raise our voices against tormentors. He is dead but the light is on. No excuse, we are all hypocrites.

The above paragraph was my first reaction to Mohbad's death pointing accusing fingers at all of us, sudden mourners who could have ordinarily prevented many brutal attacks and threats against his personality while he was alive. The massive video footage that flooded the media after his death described the debilitating and attenuating status of his existence. He lived in fear and always seemed to be dread of his former record label.

The death of Mohad has further exposed the hypocritical level of human nature. The death in most instances faces rejection and most times gets exposed to mockery and reproach from friends, families, and colleagues, and witnesses unprecedented celebration after demise; this is the exact scenario of Mohbad's public sympathy and echoes of Justice all over the world.

The major background of Mohbad's problem is the family. His first agent of socialization was wobbled and disjointed and affected his subsequent decision to secure a better life for himself, and probably, his family.

Mohbad's family issue is obvious in one of his lyrics, titled 'Sorry' where he referenced the situation of his broken home and poor parental upbringing,

From his lines and lyrics, he said:
"This kind life e tire me
Daddy no get salary
Ten years I no see Mummy
Stepmother no care
Landlord e dey worry
My brothers are hungry
Daddy gather money make I go poly
I go poly but I no go class
Daddy, I am sorry"

The above lines are a metaphorical picture of his family's predicament which is liable to push him to take a step further. A step further from this confine led him to the Marlian music.

Going further with his lyrics, the subsequent lines depict the steps he took further to join the bandwagon of Yahoo, drug lords, and cult cliques. He depicts this by saying

" I don dey do Yahoo
I don dey chop banku
Omo pastor ti wonu aye"

Mohbad said at the end of the lyrics that,
"Mummy just dey pray
Daddy just dey pray for me
Make e better for me
Me I no go school
The thing I fit do
Music me I choose"

While the end of his verse explains the prayers being said by his parents, it equally shows the parents were praying after he had already joined the wrong caucus.

Obviously, the parental failure contributed to his ordeal and that's exactly what is affecting many who are victims of hard drug cliques, robbery gangs, cult groups, and other social vices.

Broken homes always tell on the children in negative. Family is the first agent of socialization, if a family fails, it endangers the lives of the children and that's why the children matter in all decisions to go on separate ways with a spouse.

Going back and forth, Mohbad' is gone and still alive. This reminds me of the Indian thriller movie, Bahuballi who died as a result of conspiracy from his family and resurrected through his son who revenged the injustice meted to his parents.

Like Bahuballi, Mohbad is survived by a son, Liam Imole. Mohbad's light is on and the light should be guided. The Justice for Mohbad movement should be more focused on his son. That's where his parent's happiness lies and that's the most important thing.

Let Mohbad's spirit continue to rest in the Lord. He has resurrected by giving the world the lights, Liam Imole.

Rest on Legend...the whole world pays tribute.
Culture / Obasanjo And The Mess Of Traditional Authority by Usmanissa247(m): 7:44pm On Sep 22, 2023
Obasanjo and the mess of traditional authority

By Busy Brain

In Nigeria, the media space is a mixture of human interest stories of different categories. From the leaked sex tapes to Mohbad's gruesome death and Obasanjo's powerful command of traditional rulers.

To me, the news that touches the heart most is that of Mohbad's sudden death because of the circumstances that surrounded his demise by his tormentors. His death is not only shocking but alarming and disturbing.

On the other hand, former President Obasanjo's drama is another human interest story that keeps one to wonder if such effrontery and boldness was a movie scene or it happened in a real-life situation. The command looks exactly like one of the scenes in the much talk about 'jagun jagun' movie, but it is not. It happens in real life at Iseyin, a town in Oyo State where traditional rulers were publicly denigrated to the lower ebb.

While growing up, the revelation we were fed about kings described them as the second in command to God, we were informed that the kings were sent by Olodumare (God) to come and rule over their subjects and whatever they say is supreme, and final. The revelation of this story has always been the perspective with which I used to see the monarchs in all circumstances. Those days, I was always confused, thinking the monarchs were not born like humans. The predominant opinion dominated my thoughts labelling the kings as creatures from heaven sent down to represent God. My thinking was weak and naive.

Similar to the real-life revelation about kings were the movies I was exposed to at a tender age. In many of these movies, kings were not always installed by any officials but through oracle consultation. In these movies, the least expected candidate always emerges as the king irrespective of his status. The kings were not considered by wealth, it is purely what the oracle says. Kings in the olden days movies were always portrayed as a sacred deity with full authority, influence, and affluence over the people in their subjects.

Of course, literature is the mirror of life, and movie as a literary genre mirrors life and reflects society. What normally happens in movies is a real-life situation that pictures how kings were installed in the olden days through oracle irrespective of their status after which they would be secluded for seven days for proper traditional rites.

Sadly, the stories have changed, and things that were considered sacred before have been turned upside down. Nowadays, kings are no longer second in command to God. They have been subjected to watching their tongues by government officials. The State Governors have replaced oracle and the seven-day seclusion rites are being observed in Dubai, USA, United Kingdom, and the direct consequences of these are public mockery and reproach.

A perfect paradigm of the Iseyin event when Obasanjo commanded monarchs to stand up was captured in one of the scenes in 'Jagun Jagun' movie where kings and regents were seen praising the manipulative role of Ogundiji for getting them on the throne. The monarchs admitted they did not merit the throne. They all got to the throne through the backdoor and influence. In actuality, how many monarchs merit the throne today? The royalty has been transformed to the highest bidder through lobby. Obasanjo indirectly commanded the monarchs to pay obeisance to the governor who enthroned them. Only those who were enthroned through the Oracle consultation would have the courage to sit back and dare his command. The kings did nothing wrong to give a standing ovation to the Governor as commanded by the former president. The government has taken over the traditional institutions.

In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan while seeking reelection bid knelt before the Kings to receive royal endorsement and prayers. If Jonathan, a non-Yoruba President could be on his knees for the Monarchs, where is the Obasanjo's constitution that mandated the kings to stand and greet the governor or president coming from?

Obasanjo has forgotten the sacred nature of the throne. He has forgotten they are second in command to Olodumare (God).

The Iseyin event has called for the traditional rulers to go back to the drawing board. The monarchs should better realize their stools are not meant for decoration of events. The traditional authority is sacred and should remain sacred. The time is now for our revered monarchs to act fast and save the royalty from public denigration.

Like the word of Shakespeare, greatness can be inborn, inherited, and can be attained through hard work and diligence, Dr. Kadiri is a beneficiary of God's favour with the three tiers of greatness. He is born great, he inherited greatness and acquired it through hard work and diligence. His high level of intelligence, influence, and intellectual capacity as a College Don, academic scholar, and a great researcher does not stop him from relating freely and harmoniously with his subordinates. His humility is refined in his simplicity.

Allah says in the Holy Quran that those who spend charitably from what He has provided for them will have a reserved place in paradise, to buttress this are those martyrs who were given the certificates to paradise right from their lifetime. Those martyrs still remain and alive spending for charity. They are in different localities assisting people and giving hope to the hopeless.

Dr. Kadiri Kamoru in no doubt, is one of the rare gems on earth whose existence remains a blessing to mankind, to their family, and to the Polytechnic community. His love and passion for the growth and development of the Polytechnic remain indefatigable.

MOK Foundation Installs Solar-Powered Street Lights In Offa Market

As part of its community development services, The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has installed solar-powered street lights in Owode Market in Offa, Kwara State.

The street lights were installed on Tuesday 25 July 2023.

According to the Foundation, the gesture was put in place to mitigate the environmental and economic challenges of the community, particularly the market men and women in the Owode community.

Mr. Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, the founder of the MOK Foundation said the project is part of his interventions to give back to society and mitigate social and economic challenges facing the people at the grassroots.

Represented by Mr. Saheed Lawal, he said: "As a non-governmental organization, we saddle ourselves with many interventions for the betterment of the people. We have embarked on many projects from health to agriculture, to education, security, and commerce to bring succor to the grassroots and encourage the less privileged.

"The installation of the solar-powered street lights in Owode market was inspired by security consciousness. We were made to understand that the downstream of the market is a hub of activities especially for people who always come from neighboring communities to sell their goods in the market, especially when it is a day or two days to the market day and as a result of blackout in that particular area, some unscrupulous elements in society use the opportunity to steal from these people. This among other factors moved MOK Foundation to end this nefarious activity by installing solar-powered street lights in those areas for illumination.

" We installed five solar-powered Street lights today and from our engagement with Owode market people, we realized that we have to do more for the economic growth of our market, and am happy that our people expressed gratitude towards the project. The Foundation was commended and they gave us the needed information and cooperation."

He further appealed to the government at all levels to bridge the energy supply to underserved and off-grid communities.

Speaking on behalf of the market people, Mr. Sarafadeen Afolabi appreciated MOK Foundation for such an insightful project.

In his words, "We thank the founder of the Foundation. This forms part of the important project we want in Offa. These street lights in no doubt will solve the act of theft and robbery in the market and it will assist the agrarians who always come with farm products a day to the market day. We are very happy about this great and substantial intervention of the MOK Foundation. May God continue to bless him and be with him in all his endeavors. We pray for more people that will do more for the community."
