An administrator manages to build a train network between lagos and Ibadan after 5 years in power and you’re thanking him? For doing his job? For using your tax money? they are better than those that use 16years in power with nothing to show for it but to embezzled the whole nation! |

Benwallt: The former president inaugurates and lay the foundation for alot of things to take effect but they all died a natural death just like his tenure as president of The Federal Republic of Nigeria. Among many things which surface he scratched was "The Cassava Bread" . There was media commendations all over the place as alternative to the flower bread. Sadly, many Nigerians including myself didn't even get to see the nylon not to talk of the bread. The man, though a shinning star was muscled tight and choked by the people he surrounded himself with thereby all his achievements were obliterated in less than six after leaving office. See Buhari achievements everywhere and even as weak, nepotistic and wicked as he his. I think he loves Nigeria more than he love Nigerians it's not a lie bro. no casava bread fake sure p job promises. at least, buhari did N-power covic19 loan federal roads and many more! |

Business › Re: I Feel Sad & Fed Up, Lost Funds Unnecessarily In December #payoneer, Upwork by uthlaw: 7:15am On Dec 31, 2020 |
KushCollectible: Here goes the story.
I freelance on upwork on a part time and make small change. I luckily secured my highest paid project for 2500 dollars some months ago. I was so happy and worked hard at it for 2 months. I finally finished the project and the client played. I decided to get a land from the fund so as to have something tangible from my freelance funds.
I spoke to a trusted adviser about the land and he was able to find one for me at a good location for 700k. I wanted to withdraw the funds using payoneer and a trusted exchanger so as to get a better rate of 450 naira per dollar (making about 900,000). Note that this isn't my first time using that option, I tried it once before and it worked seamlessly.
My mind didn't transfer the whole funds so I sent in half of the amount to my payooner on December 3rd. I noticed the fund was placed on pending, so I thought it was network or something. Days later I got a message from payoneer that I Need to verify my account and my USD account is blocked until then. I sent in a picture of me holding my international passport as well as other stuffs. Since then I've sent countless message , emails, calls, tweets but they didn't approve the funds. When I went on Twitter I saw tweets from a lot of people experiencing same even for longer than I have. Funny thing Is those that protested too much had their whole account closed. I've been frustrated since then.
So this evening I saw the advisor on the land stuff and I explained to him. He told me he got other option in another location that was cheaper about 500k. This area wasn't as developed as the first one but I decided to go for it just to have an asset to show for my efforts. And also so i could take solace in that and try to close my mind off the funds from payoneer. So I spoke with the exchanger if he could help me withdraw the remaining balance with his payoneer account direct from Upwork so I could take advantage of the higher exchange rate. I figured if I could get about 450k I would add 50k of my personal money to get it.
So I logged into my upwork to set it up only to see balance as 0.00. Alas I had forgotten that I set up scheduled payment for last Wednesday of each month when balance was over 1000 USD. I only put that in when setting up my upwork account because I never thought I could possibly have over 1000USD at the end of each month. So the money was processed to my GTB automatically this morning at their sh*tty exchange rate. Today of all days! Just because I was one day late I ended up loosing a potential 100,000 naira. Funny thing Is the funds hasn't landed To my GTB account yet.
Now its like im back to square one with funds that cant cover what i need it for. That's my present predicament. just be grateful to God....I want to learn this stuff pls! |

Career › Re: My Experience After Working For About Five Years. by uthlaw: 5:18pm On Dec 30, 2020 |
AltarBoy1: 99% of wealthy people are business men, you wont get to a greater height in wealth if you dedicate your entire life on a paid job. The average worker who is upright and doesn't involve in shady dealings ends up not been too wealthy or achieving much in life. Aside from multinational company's, most firms in Nigeria pay belwo 100k and when you factor in cost of leaving and daily expenses, how much can one save out of the salary in a month. Thats why I noted in the beginning of this write up that except you are working in a firm where your salary is above 100k and promotion/upward review of salary is certain within 3 years, then you are just wasting your youthful age when you work in such a place for long. If at the end of a year, you cant be able to save up to 1M, just try as much as you can to quit the job. Though its not easy, but its better you bear the heat and get out when you are strong and agile than wait when you get old.
My advice is that as early as possible, one should start looking for a business to start, irrespective of the nature of the business, as long as its legal and pays your bill just dedicate yourself to it and nurture it to growth/maturity. Business is easier to manage and nurture when your personal expense and responsibility is still very low, thats why its good to start when you are still under your parent, as a student or during NYSC. That way, even when the business fail, you have your family to fall back on until you gather the necessary resource to start again.
On a last note, when you have a striving business, by the time your kids grow up, one or two of them can you in the business and probably be on their own by having an offshoot of your business. That way they wont have to be looking for a job after school especially in this period of unavailability of jobs. But if you retire as a worker, you have nothing to pass to your kids to help them kick start their life. They will have to search for job or establish their own business.
I will also advice that if you have the opportunity of picking up a job as a sales rep of a company, please do not hesitate to accept it as this type of job gives you first hand experience of how businesses of buying and selling works. You will get to know how the market moves, the season when some certain goods are in high demand and with this experience, starting your own business in same line wont be difficult for you as you can even get some capital and purchase goods in the name of your customer and if you have a good relationship with him or with those around, selling the goods wont be much difficult through their help pending when you get your own shop/warehouse.
MODIFIED... My own rule of thumb is... IF YOUR JOB IS YOUR ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME, DONT QUIT YOUR JOB FOR A SIDE BIZ UNTIL THE BIZ IS A "GOING CONCERN" AND IS GIVING YOU MORE THAN HALF OF YOUR MONTHLY SALARY. make I shalaye something for you.as a banker, why can't you buy maize from North when it cheap and resell when the price is high.you can also buy palmoil from East or West depends on your location when it also cheap and resell again when the price goes high....na million business b that ooo but depend on your capital! |

Family › Re: Must I Fall In Love Before I Marry? by uthlaw: 7:38pm On Dec 29, 2020 |
RisenPhoenix1: No. In fact, falling in love must be the single greatest reason why so many marriages end up in divorce. This is because when you love, you close your eyes to her faults and still go ahead to marry. By the time your eyes open after one or two children; as they surely will; all the faults will just hit you gbam in the face. You will then either divorce, start cheating, or live out the rest of your life in an unhappy and dysfunctional marriage. It is far better to go into marriage with open eyes; i.e. no love blinding you. That way, you choose wisely.
Of course the above advice is obviously only for men, since women never marry for love but enter marriage with open eyes, and are always fully aware of the man's faults before they marry. this is just the fact, they marry who is ready or capable but men marry for love....our mumu don do! |
