Amedino99: I don't think there are still under 23 teams around in the EPL again. The highest before senior team is under 21. So far premier league reserve teams are not allowed to play in the championship we can't really say for certain that they can't compete comfortably but then to southgate everything about football is arithmetic. 1 + 1 must be equal to 2. Any small thing him go dey tell you say since mk dons don beat man u and man u beat Villarreal for UCL so therefore villareal go chop am for mk dons hand. And the bobo no dey accept corrections if you tell am say him dey wrong. Him go just use English cover matter. So they cap their reserve at 21 unlike La liga Reserve where you can find 24 + in their ranks. Like you said, we can't really say until they play. |

charlesemeka85: bro epl u21 teams will struggle big time if incorporated to the the English 2nd tier
Not saying they won’t be able t win couple of matches but it will tough for them to survive the rigors of the championship and may be relegated to league one
The likes of edozie, lavia and co you mentioned are exceptional talents and too good for u21 football which is the main reason they left age grade football for that of men
Clubs snapping few talents from the u21 league doesn’t imply the youth league teams will strive when incorporated to the championship. Few players from the system will but not the teams Let's say it's all down to policies but I still believe if EPL 2 teams are allowed to compete, Mancity and Chelsea -U23 teams will likely find their way up to Championship. It will even help top teams to retain some of their best young talents due to the fact that they will be playing in 2nd tier. This is what I Strongly believe but no need to drag this further. Make we disagree to agree abi agree to disagree or anyhow dem dae talk am |

komekn: You don't have to believe me.
But I've had a lot of involvement with EPL youth academies.
None of them including the top of the league Manchester city will survive in the Championship none of them will have dominance in League one infact they will get relegated.
Most of the players are U18 , have not played hard tackling men's intensely competitive football. In addition less than 10% will play in the EPL, then barely 17% will become regulars in the Championship.
Remember Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom great at youth level but never able transit to first team football. So many opportunities now in Greece. Do you know Jerome Sinclair, Liverpool FC youngest player to play for Liverpool FC, couldn't make the transition he is a at age 26 a free agent after failing in the Bulgarian league.
I've taken a screenshot shot of results showing EPL academy teams getting flogged by League one clubs.
Villa Real played Wolves U23 Academy team and they beat them 2-1 in hotly contested game, Wolves are at the bottom end of the EPL L2. That should give you perspective.
Liverpool FC U19 just flogged Ajax 4-0 watched it up close and personal. IMO opinion most league two teams will flogg them with raw koboko. Don't dismiss the league two.
A few years ago Newport county beat Leicester city 2-1 that are in league two. A month ago or thereabouts Crawley Town( league 2) beat Fulham FC in the FA Cup. A good number of these players are on loan from EPL clubs, like James Belaghezi IMO best player in Liverpool FC academy better than Harvey Elliott.
Having this mind and putting matters into context what do you think would happen to Villa Real B in League two ❓ Stop seeing football as arithmetic. I don't know why you always like using this kind of highly flawed analogy of ; Team A played Team B , Team B won Team C and therefore, Team A is better than Team C. It's more ridiculous owing to the fact you only use them when it's in the favour of UK leagues. For example, Chelsea lost to a Croatian team and S. Donesk beat Leipzip like a thief. Napoli disgraced Liverpool and Brugge Bossed Atletico Madrid. I could go on.... It doesn't mean that the aforementioned winners are better. I still maintain that Mancity U-23 Chelsea U-23 will be a mainstay if they are allowed to compete in Championship. Most of them always perform well in Championship when given opportunities. From Mouth, Tomori, Abraham, Solanke, etc Some of them even slot easily into lower EPL teams... Just use S'ampton as an example -Lavia, Juan, Livramento, Edozie, etc. These guys will give Championship wahala. |

komekn: Oniovo
Before you begin to scrutinize , appraise and assess players, there has to be some benchmark, of quality capacity and ability anchored on comparison analysis.
There are always exceptions and room must be made for them. Thats why I rely on my long standing proposition; "Better a Lion in a low level league and club than a mouse in a top level club and league"
The premier League is the best and most competitive league in the world. And so somebody doing averagely will most likely be a lot better than someone in low level league doing above average.
Even my proposition must be taken with restraint, you could be the number one outstanding Midfielder in the NPFL but the standard could be so low that even an anonymous mouse could be considerably better than you a Lion in the NPFL.
Comparison analysis the quality of league and club comes into the question.
The background to our current trajectory is Nwakali and the low quality and competitiveness of the Segundo.
I've said this before and I will say it again without apology . In general the money you have will determine to a large extent the players you will get
The Segundo division has a about 5 clubs at the top end who have some degree of quality and the rest below that from low to very poor. A league where the Villa Real B team ( academy Youth team) is above mid table.
None of the EPL L2 ( U23 youth teams) can compete in the Championship and will not be able contend competitively in League one.
That says the league is s poor quality. Nwakali has no even poor throughout out his professional career. He is doing averagely well in the poor quality league. Is this a sign of improvement or rather he had found his mediocre level.
Consider that Joe Aribo went from league one to the SE and had been outstanding since. He is now in the EPL and doing well above average.
If we can consider Nwakali as good quality what about the hundreds of Nigerian players across be Europe in fat better League.
Indeed the players in a lot of EPL academies are therefore by comparison good enough to be considered. As much as I agree that the quality of the Championship is better than that of Segunda, I totally disagree with your point about Villarreal B. The reason why they are there is due to the existing rules which permits the Primera reserve team to compete in Segunda and I dare say they are good. EPL L2 teams like Man city U-23 or Chelsea will be a mainstay in the Championship if given such permission. |

What's really funny is that you aren't thinking at all. My name only became known by some on this thread who were present from the first moment I endorsed that indeed my first name was my name. Only when I revealed it did they know for sure that my signature actually had my actual name on it.
Thing is in an attempt to make a silly point, you sound very limited in reasoning.
And Wait ooo @ bolded... so you are telling me that you read all 13,000+ pages and all 437,000+ posts while constantly commenting on this same thread and you just had to single out mine specifically from a time you didn't even exist here?
Okay, give us one who said that. Just one at least. So I know your fellow post-by-post readers.
Even I, an active member on this thread haven't read every page. I just haven't yet I practically know everything "by context" on this thread.
And of all you read, you had to easily recall something said only by my moniker back in 2016, 2 yrs before you registered.
The page was less than 400 back then. And you recall it nearly 13000 pages later.
Hahahahahaha... Okay, I understand now. You are just a Jobless troll and stalker. Have a nice evening. Damn. I gave an example of how people can catch up and you are ranting again. F00l You are the Jobless one here so rest. |

TheSuperNerd: But that name could belong to anyone. It could be an isolated quoted statement by someone I know.
The only true reason people know me by my first name is because I have not hidden it in various posts in previous years and I have time and again even shown my twitter handle with the name boldly written. My twitter handle is also on my NL profile and anyone here can easily check it and see the name. Some folks from here on NL have found me that way and sent messages... most of which I don't reply to.
But that you keep addressing me as David... even when you are a stranger claiming not to be Obsessed with me shows you are only lying.
And then to crown it all, your 2018 moniker has the time to read through my posts dating 2 years to the time that you registered on NL.
How not so Obsessive of you right? Try again. Your reasons are not sound. You have your name as your signature and you are changing mouth that it could be a statement by someone you know. So you joined NL 2 years after and specifically read through my posts or read through the thread from 2 yrs back and found it.
